Nothing to do with happening today. If it's not the biggest, what is?

Cincy/St Joes is a great night cap.

I don't give a **** how good Coppin State, Middle Tennessee St. or Norfolk State are. They're 15 seeds. You're supposed to beat the piss out of them indiscriminately. It's not supposed to matter if they're a .001 or a .002 on a scale from 0-10. The bracket may as well just say RANDOM 16 SEED and RANDOM 15 seed for those two seed groups.

"They were a REALLY REALLY good 15 seed though!!!!"

FOH with that.

The craziest thing about MTSU/MSU, is that MTSU thumped them from the jump. Like they never trailed and it wasn't even close at the end.

I was only waiting for them to choke it up bc that's what was supposed to happen. They stepped on the throat and made big plays at the end. Ball bounced their way a couple times but that happens when you're playing hard and controlling the game. It never looked like a fluke.

No, you idiot. Not all x-seeded teams are built alike.

Coppin Stare that year was awful, awful, awful. They had ONE win in the RPI top 200. One.

Michigan State, relative to the field, may be the best team ever to not win a game. But they lost to a decent team. MTSU had an RPI of 78. Kentucky lost like 5 games to teams rated worse than that this year. MTSU is a halfway competent team. Coppin State was atrocious.

State is the best team to lose 1st rd. This really has nothing to do with who they played. According to Vegas and brackets MSU was one of the 2 favorites.

It's the biggest upset ever b/c it happened this year. Everything now >>>>> everything then.
False. Even that dumb stat chart showed MSU was the best of the 2 seeds to lose.
An Upset is when something goes against expectations. And for everyone who watches Bball instead of a spreadsheet, every 15 seed is the same. Massive underdog.
But MSU was the LAST of any 1 or 2 seed ANYONE thought would lose. Yeah, do the comparison. FF team last year, POY, Izzo, etc. unreal. Biggest upset ever. Easily.

We're all arguing about Coppin State and Middle Tennessee State and Michigan St. vs. South Carolina, meanwhile '73 is trying to figure out when to make his argument that the biggest upset of all time was the 1917 Y.M.C.A. over Boston University of Textile Science and Cotton Gin Manufacturing.

Or maybe the biggest upset of all-time was Larry Legend rising above his humble roots to become White Jesus' gift to basketball.

--PTI, MTSU had five losses by double digits to teams outside the top 100 kenpom. 15s and 16s are ******.

I'm just a friendly old BJW but the Vandy lass promised me that Duke was an Ivy League school?

Not conference affiliation, obviously. But, like, they're an Ivy League school?

Coppin St had a coach named Fang. That alone was enough to push them past the Cocks. Kermit isn't intimidating anyone.

One of the biggest differences I've noticed between the mid-majors and power 5 teams in a tight game down the stretch is the power 5 teams drive the lane for an easy bucket or a foul. The Mids almost always seem to dick finger it around the perimeter and toss up a prayer.
