there is quite a bit more to that story being omitted though.....gas was low due to covid lockdowns and no demand.....gas rose coming out of covid because the global demand rebounded much faster than the oil producers could ramp up, hence low supply and high demand equaled the higher cost on a global scale and Russia invading Ukraine
It’s just a matter of time at this point until the all-time record for gas prices is shattered, and it will be under Trump’s watch. I’m interested to see how the goalposts shift then. What will they pull out of the Biden toolbox next?

when Obama left office to Trump the nat. avg for reg was $2.32 to $2.34.......under Trump it got as high as $2.96 and the lowest during lockdowns of $1.77 and when he left office the avg was $2.39
Why are you leaving out the Biden administration and Keystone pipeline?

I think the few right leaners here are concerned about Iran, and we definitely don't like seeing gas where it is. On the conflict with Iran? The last 40 some years each President, and potential ones before Trump, it's as if they all read off the same prompter, saying they are a major threat, can't be allowed to have... but now it's a problem that we are there.

No one that's paid ANY attention at all the last 7-8 years would say things were good before Trump became President.

Something that few talk about is Covid. It's like anyone over 40 has lived in two totally different worlds because of it. Life before Covid is now a new way. Nothing has been the same since.
Trump has already lost the war with Iran, and it was over four months ago. You can’t win a war without clear objectives. Wars aren’t won on vibes and BS, and that’s all this administration has. The Right is just pretending that’s not the case to inflate the old man’s ego because they’re scared of him. Meanwhile, American soldiers are being used as props and intentionally left in harm’s way.

He’s going to collapse the world economy by continuing this, and it’s all in service to his fragile ego. I know the bond market is way outside your wheelhouse, but you should find a smart person to explain it to you. Everyone should be deeply concerned by what’s going on.

There are a lot of rumors circulating right now that there was a significant strike on base in Jordan last night that possibly resulted in a lot of US casualties. As per usual, with this administration, no information has been released as of yet.
That last sentence was a doozy. No info released was Hiden Biden’s whole term. We went months without seeing him. The little Raggedy Ann press secretary had a heck of a time trying to answer any questions coming from conservative outlets.

“Gas prices became low due to Covid lockdowns”. You are aware that Trump was Pres for three years prior to Covid I assume?

So when Obama left office and Trump left office gas prices were essentially the same. Seems like an odd thing to point out given the overall tenor of your posting history.

In case you missed it, this was my response to your post earlier. Thoughts?

Gas was $3.12 a gallon on Biden’s last day in office. Today, during Trump’s presidency, the national average is $4.12. The average price of diesel is $5.68. We are 13 cents away from the all-time record.

This is happening today, by the way, not back in 2022. Gas spiked in 2022 because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which was obviously outside of the president’s control. Gas is high today because Trump decided to go to war with Iran, which is completely his fault.

Where’s your outrage at Trump? Why aren’t you talking about what’s happening today, right now? Is it just not convenient for you?

factual statement, truth is the truth.....as typed his prices did have a 2.96 high a point and also had a 1.77 low .....and correct, his ending price was on par w/ what he was given...end of the day that's a good thing, but Biden's term had high prices due to what i stated, the global demand rebound and russia/ukraine

Why are you leaving out the Biden administration and Keystone pipeline?
President Joe Biden’s cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline permit did not have any direct or measurable effect on gas prices. [1]

Why the Cancellation Did Not Affect Prices
    • Not operational: The Keystone XL project was an uncompleted, planned expansion. It was not operational when its permit was revoked in January 2021, and it was not scheduled to be finished and carrying oil until 2023. [1, 2]
    • No immediate supply impact: Energy and market analysts note that an unfinished pipeline cannot transport oil, meaning its termination could not alter existing crude supply or impact prices at the pump. [1, 2]
    • Global market drivers: Energy experts state that consumer gasoline prices are driven by global market dynamics, such as worldwide crude oil costs, post-pandemic demand spikes, and geopolitical conflicts like Russia's invasion of Ukraine, rather than individual North American pipeline projects. [1, 2]
    • Destination of the oil: The 830,000 barrels per day intended for the Keystone XL extension were slated for Gulf Coast refineries, with a significant portion positioned for international export markets rather than guaranteed domestic use. [1]

The Real Drivers of Gas Prices During This Period
    • Post-lockdown demand: Travel and economic activity rebounded rapidly after pandemic restrictions lifted, outpacing the speed at which global oil production could ramp back up. [1, 2, 3]
    • International conflict: The war in Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions on Russian petroleum restricted global energy supplies, causing historic spikes in crude oil costs that directly raised domestic pump prices. [1, 2]

As Mac and I have noted, we’ve both been dissatisfied with how Trump’s past year has gone. Personally I think if he was going to war with Iran, he should have bombed the hell out of them and got it over quickly. We can call a spade a spade, but you’re not willing to say that Sleepy Joe was an empty suit and was totally inept to be the President. I guess you were fine with sending billions of dollars to Ukraine. Oh yeah, Biden was returning a favor.

Gas prices fluctuate. That indeed is a fact. The reasons behind the price hike during Biden’s term haven’t been contested on my end for the most part, although having an addled Pres coming off the botched withdrawal in Afghanistan most likely emboldened Putin, but I digress. The concerning thing with your posting and the question it raises is simply this: if high gas prices are so catastrophic to the average American why were you silent for four years? In fact, we were told during Biden’s term that high gas prices are a good thing. People will drive less and it will motivate consumers to go electric. Are you denying that the narrative around high gas prices shifts depending on who is Pres?

Biden is not president and has been gone for nearly two years.

I’m much more concerned with the current inept, empty suit occupying the Oval Office, who seems to be concerned only with enriching himself at the American taxpayers expense, building ballrooms, and collapsing the world economy around us.

All due respect, bombing the hell out of them was tried and failed. Here’s the thing. If preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon is in our long term national security interests then boots on the ground would be justified. By broadcasting early on that boots on the ground weren’t on the table, we also told Iran that we don’t really have the stomach for this. They knew that already given our nation’s distaste for the forever wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but the administration’s messaging crystallized it. This is a regime that survived an eight year ground war with Iraq. For all of his bravado, Trump has signaled weakness from the beginning. When has a limited aerial campaign ever brought another nation to its knees? I commend Trump for not destroying key civilian infrastructure but at some point you begin to wonder if the man actually understands what the word war means.
Wars worth fighting are worth winning. You shouldn’t start a war if you’re unwilling to do what it takes to win a war.
Before anyone gets it twisted, I’m not advocating for a massive ground invasion, but highlighting the reckless, naive approach to war exhibited by this admin.

The national average price for gas during Trump's first term was roughly $2.52 a gallon compared to Biden's four years around $3.45 a gallon. No spin needed. The price in 2025 was $3.10. Not what we want, but .20 lower than Biden's last year.

This year isn't going well though. No if and's or but's.

I agree with your assessment. A war like this has never been won by air power alone. I think they really believed they could just take out the leaders and the whole thing would collapse like Venezuela, but that shows how inept these guys are. Iran is not Venezuela. Hegseth was never up for the job, but he should’ve never been chosen for it either, and that falls on Trump.

All of this was incredibly predictable and was apparently laid out in detail by Gabbard and U.S. intelligence in the days leading up to the war. Those warnings were completely disregarded by Trump. “Everything works out in the end.”

I still don’t think a ground invasion is completely off the table. I just think they’ll wait until after the midterms to go for it. It’s not winnable, though, with the current state of the military. Look up the war games held between U.S. and Ukrainian soldiers a couple of months ago. It did not go well. We are unprepared for the type of drone warfare that has evolved between Russia and Ukraine, and I don’t think the American people are ready to watch those types of videos…

You’re probably right. Since we’re dealing with an unhinged narcissist, one thing we’ve overlooked so far is the alleged assassination attempt on Trump’s life. Whether it was legit or not, it played a huge role in all of this. He’s willing to tank the economy for a revenge kick. And then there’s Hegseth. I’ve been wrong about a lot, but I said that he was uniquely unqualified from the jump. Whatever you think about Trump’s first term, at least he surrounded himself with semi-competent advisors. You prob hold a different opinion of Mike Pompeo than I, but at least the man could construct a sentence and at least pretend to be a serious individual. Trump’s chosen to surround himself with jokers and fools, and ultimately that’s on him. Why is there no more dissent within the Rep Party. Well, you saw what that did for Thom Thillis and Cornyn in Texas. Texas would rather elect a lifelong grifter like Paxton than run afoul of Trump, so ultimately the blame for November will lie with the Republican voters who not only tolerate but condone the unhinged rhetoric of a madman.
If boots on the ground are forthcoming, it will be after the midterms I agree.

Edit: I like Rubio but the rest of his Cabinet is a **** show. Including his Vp his bff deal with Tucker Carlson is alarming to put it mildly as is his cozying up to the Groypers in the base. Most of the media coverage focuses on antisemitism, but if you’re anything other than a white Christian their rhetoric should scare the **** of you. Well if you’re a white Christian it should scare the **** out of you, too, but I never thought I’d see the day I’d hear the **** I hear now online.

He’s not in office now, so nothing he did matters. That’s the liberal playbook. You know he was a great competent President. He was also a very moral, non racist , and great family man. Remember- “You ain’t black if you don’t vote for me.” One of my favorite quotes.

That’s a good point. So by their own logic, whatever Trump did or didn’t do is irrelevant in two years and we should all focus on whatever or whoever the Dems elect. Any criticism should be met with “ well Trump’s not President anymore is he?”

Are we all in agreement?

“Just not while Trump was there”. You didn’t surely but you did. So by your own logic then Biden owns higher gas prices, right?

Withdrawal from Afghan wasn’t just a “bad look”; it got people killed. And the Russian invasion didn’t happen in a vacuum.

The next 13 games for Braves will be key. 7 with Phillies, three with Cubs, three with Rays.

He slept through the first three. He came to during Covid and got bored watching old Duke Carolina games on YouTube and got political all of a sudden

Ideologically, I disagreed with the politics of his first term Cabinet, but they were mostly qualified for their jobs and, with some exceptions, competent in how they ran their departments. As you said, though, he’s surrounded himself with yes men, fools, and grifters in his second term, and that’s a big part of the problem this time around. There’s no one there to push back on his dumb *** ideas, and it’s led us to where we are today.

He’s trapped in his own information bubble, and the yes men around him aren’t telling him what he needs to hear. Speaking of Texas, Ken Paxton has been begging for help from MAGA Inc. in the Texas race, as Talarico has the best shot of anyone to flip that seat in years. Instead of keeping the focus on vulnerable races like the one in Texas, Trump’s insisting on running ads focused on himself and his “accomplishments“, seemingly not realizing how unpopular he’s becoming, even in red country.

Normal politicians realize that when you’re unpopular, you have to let candidates create some distance from you during elections to win those seats. His narcissism won’t allow him to do that, though, and I think some seats will flip that no one’s expecting and he’ll have no one else to blame but himself…but he’ll blame everyone else instead.

Your observation on the Groypers is accurate. I’m perplexed by how anyone who doesn’t identify as a white, straight, evangelical Christian can’t see which way the wind is blowing with some of these Gen Z red hats and still think they’ll have a place in this coalition in the future. Nick Fuentes should never have been given a seat at the table by Trump.

“I believe he was going to invade just not while Trump was there”.

Christmas come early. I love it when they say the quiet part out loud.
Yeah we need @BOOGIEMAN1914 to keep posting. @DuckDevil on the other hand is good at memorizing libs articles, and really is a great sheep, I mean student, for the liberal cause. This kid has mastered the line “Biden isn’t President anymore, so it doesn’t matter.”

I saw a video that said Trump just signed a deal with nine additional pharmaceutical companies to offer discounted prescription prices to state Medicaid programs. Could save over $600 billion dollars over time.

Is this true?

I’m retired and only work about 3 hours a day. Ol Ducky must not work at all to have all that time to look up, copy, and paste all those left slanted articles.

@BOOGIEMAN1914 already won the argument. You’re just too dumb to pick up what he’s putting down. Trying to explain anything complicated to you is like punching yourself in the ****. Pointless and painful.

You see everything as black, white, good, or bad. You can’t comprehend anything beyond that. Nuance is completely lost on you. Like a child.

Fuentes has said so many bat sh crazy things the last couple of years it’s hard to keep track. He has praised Hitler (!at least the trains were running on time!) and doesn’t seem as concerned about the racial makeup of this country as much as blaming the Joos for whatever goes wrong. The lunatics on the Right arent even pretending anymore this is about Israel. They’re skipping that and diving head first into Protocols of the Elders of Zion ****.

Okay boomer
That seems a little dismissive. We should embrace our generational and philosophical differences.

He refers to Black and Brown people routinely as mongrels and subhuman invaders. Jd Vance refuses to condemn this rhetoric. That’s disqualifying for me. In fact, Tucker just a cut better than Fuentes. His latest rant was they don’t teach the plus sign in Israel because it looks like a cross so Israelis don’t know how to add. It’d be hard to make this stuff up if you tried, but in the 19th century this did occur to some extent to be fair, but Tuckers suggesting that an entire century of Israelis haven’t used the plus sign. And Vance continues to platform this clown so that’s why going forward for the next two years. That’s why.

Duckey, I noticed you didn’t argue with what he said about you not working. Maybe you could tell us what do you do for a living.
Duck is more than capable of answering for himself, but I would advise against this. While I appreciate those who feel the need to tell us all about that part of themselves, I’d advise against it as that info is often weaponized against the person.

You are spinning it. What’s your excuse about the other three years of Biden’s term?

There is no excuse those 2 world events were kind of a big deal...took over, it was decently low as 21 rolled and the economy opened up and demand increase, it rose....then in 2022 the invasion skyrocketed it and from them until 2024 it worked its way back down to what it was when Trump took office

If you can't gleen that "bad look" meant me agreeing it was bad then that's on you....that's explanation enough..it was indeed bad and this war has gotten people killed

And of recent he has invaded other countries during democratic president years...i highly doubt he would have if Trump was in office in 2022....and i think he thought it was gonna be much easier than what it has become

His delusions of grandeur lead him to believe that his endorsement is actually a good thing. I don’t have much psych training, but if I did I bet the word textbook would come up quite a bit.

Tucker is a crazy person with a big platform. He’s also an opportunist who sees the vacuum Trump’s eventual exit will leave on the right. He sees how badly Trump is ****ing up and has smartly positioned himself as the “true conservative” opposition who “called it out from the beginning,” yada yada. He either wants to run himself or be the kingmaker. I’m not sure which yet.

Vance is a tech bro opportunist who I don’t think really believes in anything. He’ll be whatever he thinks he needs to be at any given moment if it gives him a shot at the presidency.
