You would think if he was continually late for practice among other things, they could have found a way to fire him without taking the financial hit through a breach of contract. Then again, money supposedly isn't an issue atm. But still....why delay the inevitable.

I think it is clear Trev should have insisted on an ankle bracelet/monitor and daily sobriety checks

Well for me, the bigger question was why he was getting given an extension in the first place and why wasn’t he fired last year. His behavior was known. He should have been fired after 3, but I think covid saved him in the end.

I agree about judging. That is a lot of why it isn’t reported or discussed while he is the coach. Nor should it be then. It gets harder when what he is doing is influencing the Xs and Os.

Frost is an sloppy, undisciplined, lazy manager. You can see it in the lack of preparation of his teams. Lack of scheming game day. Lack of basic skills in players. Sloppiness in execution. Laziness in recruiting. Scott is just sloppy, tip to top. Blaming everyone else but himself. You mimic your coach and that is what his teams play like.

i think it is apparent how he conducted himself off the field pretty clearly impacted the team on the field.
I pointed out last summer that I thought Frost was lazy about overseeing the team. Many of the players photos on the team website were in disarray. Several photos missing, some guys not wearing the right attire etc. Someone was listening because if you look now it's pretty well cleaned up and in line with every single other Big ten team. People act like details don't matter, but they do. Frost sucked in a lot of areas. Not really much to like about that guy other than 97.

If there was indeed a dust up between frost and Trev - I wonder if he could have been suspended until Oct 1 then fired

hate the 7.5 million going away gift

Yah, I’ve been noting things like this for 5 years. Good observation. When everyone wanted assistance fired, my main argument was the guy at the top was creating the biggest problems from laziness, sloppiness, lack of accountability, etc.

I think Alberts didn’t want the bad publicity of a dispute with Frost over the $7.5 million.

Ehhhh, I get what you are saying but let's not act like we don't all "slack off" at our jobs.

I am guessing we have all been late or left early. Lord knows we are all dicking around on this ****ing message board during the day. None of us are giving some of our paycheck back.
And if at the end of the day you aren't putting in the time or effort necessary or expecte of you to succeed at your current job, out you go. I get paid well enough for what I do, and I have the flexibility to leave early some days or knock off to play golf or start the weekend a few hours early now and then. But, I consistently put in plenty of hours throughout the week and year to exceed what is expected of me in my position. Yeah, most of us may get in late now and then, knock off early occasionally, take a short message board break here and there, but none of has a job paying $5MM that everyone knows requires almost 24/7 commitment, particularly at certain times of the year, in order to be successful. P5 head football coach is not a 40, 50 even 80 hour a week job. It takes literally 12 to 18 hour days, 6 to 7 hours a week (particularly July to end of signing period) and there is no reason we shouldn't expect that of those who chose of their own free will to take the kind of money he accepted knowing full well that is what is required to be succesful.

You think I'm fan boy-ing? I'm just not acting like a d‐bag. You are.

There's an open board for that type of behavior.
Sorry your hero is the biggest loser in program history. In time I hope it gets easier for you. Keep your chin up! It’s a new day, time to move forward and stop feeling so bad

Everyone is moving on except for you. 99 percent on this board is happy the change has been made. They just aren't being an immature asshat like you are.

False, Northwestern, Ohio State are all in football uniforms, Iowa is a mix of polos, uniforms, Sport coat/ties, Michigan missing photos, multiple suit colors, Michigan St a mix of jerseys, polos, Penn state missing lots of photos.. I don't disagree that Frost didn't have the attention to details but this argument (similar to when you brought it up last year) is dumb.

It would probably be best that all parties involved take the high road and just move on.

The damage to Frost's legacy is already done. No reason to keep shoveling dirt.
Frost and his posse will ultimately respond and I expect others to have dirt exposed.

If my character is being assassinated you can bet I'm taking others with me.

Aww. You upset? Too bad. None of you could handle the truth for 5 plus years. Excuse the hell out of me for mocking all you frosturbators. Do yourself a favor, and use the “ignore” button. You’ll look at my posts just like them, but that way you can pretend you aren’t. It’s been 2 days, some of us put up with the ridiculous frosturbation for much longer than that. Poor fella

I'm positive Frost has plenty of skeletons hiding in his closet. Not sure he should be playing the tit for tat game.

Again, all the people involved should behave like adults and just move on.

Kind of a pyramid in my mind. The less you make, the more you can dick around, leave early, show up late. And when you leave you are not at all on the clock.
The more you make? Yeah you're never not on the clock. Etc etc

**** Frost. He wants to put in the effort of a middling high school coach, make the money of a middling high school coach.
Really? I see it as almost the exact opposite. Worker Bees get fired...

Sorry, but if your number one goal above all else is to win, then you got to put on your big boy pants and step up to do the right thing. Otherwise you don't belong in the job yourself. That's why you're getting paid the big bucks.
So you wanted to fire Frost over the objections of multiple regents, BIG boosters and TO? How did that work out for Pederson?

The AD job is a political job and you better make sure you’ve got support before you fire a native son. I also believe that Trev was making phone calls last fall to see who he could get and wasn’t getting the responses he needed to pull the plug. Now he’s got an earlier start on the process AND EVERYBODY on board.

Yeah maybe less job security the lower you go.
I worked with a lady...years ago...showed up late over and over...

She was totally shocked when they canned her...I bet she was late 15 times a month, it was nuts.

It is amazing how just showing up on time can be a huge difference in getting ahead.

Dang. IF these things are true then I would think that would constitute firing with cause if someone not fulfilling their obligation
I was told a year ago that Frost didn't even show up at some practices over the years. He was "watching film". There are kids in the program who said flat out that Frost is a bad coach. Kinda hard to argue with that if the HC misses practice.

In the video of Frost leaving the stadium Saturday night, did anyone else notice how the passenger side of his pickup was all scratched up? Not suggesting anything by it, just caught my eye.

Losing that many close games isn't bad luck. It's lack of attention to detail. These types of stories make that many close losses make a lot more sense.

I don't know if the allegations are true or not and how severe/disruptive they were. So I don't know if Frost should have been fired for those reasons. BUT certainly he should have been fired for his horrible record. And it is up to the AD to take that action. There's a HUGE difference between Pedey firing a coach with Solich's record and Trev firing a coach with Frost's record. No comparison.

When Gulliver traveled to the Land of the Houyhnhnms (horses) he found them to be gentle, refined, intelligent beings. They shared the island with the Yahoos (humans) who were disgusting in many ways. Gulliver found the most disturbing aspect of the Yahoos was when one of them fell from power the other Yahoos climbed up into trees and "discharged their excrements" on the fallen Yahoo's head.

I didn’t say Trev did. My point is that Frost had been here 5 years. Why was he given a year 3 extension and why wasn’t he fired last given his behavior? It is more than just Trev. The AD sits at the top of a LARGE hierarchy that well knew what was going on through multiple ADs.
