Seems that he's sent a LOI to the school of his choosing, and the fact that UK always keeps stuff under wraps and lets kids have their moment bodes well for us since no one "knows" his decision.

Reading that insane thread, most of the in-the-know people are all but ceding to UK.

Hmm. I for real think we land Bamba and Knox.
That's the hope.

So do we take Green, SGA, Knox, PJ, Bamba, and Richards and call it a class? Or are there others out there we might still bring in? Might still need a wing..... Young?

The one thing I still don't get, is why did he drive 6 hours to Syracuse the other day? Sounds like he was all but committed, then he goes to MSG for MSU/UK game.. I love Kentucky, but I do find it hard to believe that one night could totally alter his decision, a decision that's been building for almost 2 years.

.. unless Syracuse was never his top choice to begin with, and he'd rather have gone to one of the top programs, but only got buzz from them recently.

I would think if I was in that position I would take all the free trips I could. Officials and unofficials to campus are probably a fun time.

I've thrown the misdirection possibility out there as well, and I'm still not convinced that isn't what is happening here.

However - the idea of putting out misdirection like this through the admins on the most popular Syracuse board would seem like a potentially bad idea. As big a recruit as Green is for Cuse, you could run the risk of fans doing something stupid like attacking the kid on twitter.

Plus, the visit to the UK game and the followup interview with his coach was enough to throw a little uncertainty in the mix. I'm not sure additional misdirection was needed.

Melancer46, thanks for coming by and engaging in civil discourse. Regardless how this one recruit picks, I hope you'll come back-- especially around tournament time to offer insights on any teams that you guys played and that UK might encounter, and vice versa.

To my UK brethren who are gloating like they're holding a signed LOI from the kid, I have only two words: Child, please! Hush up and wait to see how this thing plays out before you make a fool out of yourselves.

Unless it's all building on itself. How many people can possibly be "connected?" If the three people close to the recruitment all tell the reporters/insiders/etc then it turns into an echo chamber. It's not like 40 individual people are privy to Green's decision making

I like Young, but if Cal has offered this kid and is cool with his signing for Kentucky, I too am all for it! Cal is the man with recruiting. If this kid is good enough to risk losing Young, he's good enough to start and lead Kentucky on the floor as a freshman.

Don't know what Young is waiting for. And don't love that I'm hearing word that top recruits don't want to play with him. Although we do need guards.. I'mn not sure Green wants to play with him either, and could screw this up if Green doesn't sign an LOI right away.

Right now, I want Green over Young.

I had some Titos and it feels like the worm has turned.

Vodka? God, they can't even correctly drink alcohol.

He said what he is wating for - he wants to see both teams play the first 2 months of the season . He will be Cat in the end so who cares how long he takes. I would take my time too.Green is really good but Young can put up 30 a night in college . Young , while not as good as Bamba or Knox or IMO as PJ ( who I think one of the 6-7 players in HS ) is the key to UK being a top 10 team next season by the end ( though we will lose a some games ) . Cal has to have a guard who can score and Young is it.

I still believe Young is the slightly (maybe more than slightly) better player overall. But he is dragging his feet, and even if the rumors about other players not wanting to play with him are exaggerated crap, we have players actually saying out loud that they want to play with Quade Green if that could reasonably happen. Young's rumor may be false, but the Green one is confirmed. Sometimes it isn't always about getting the #1 overall player. Green isn't substantially behind him, could bring in some guys we're potentially trailing for, and he is labeled as a natural PG which makes me swoon.

Young could have committed here months ago. If he's hanging back to see how OU does in the first half of the season then he wasn't a "lock" to be here anyway. No need to risk it. If he comes, he comes.

Guys we are appearntly wasting our time. I read the gold mine the cuse board and they said green drove 5 hours to watch them blow out Colgate and sign his loi and he didn't want to fax it in like normal kids. He also wanted to see them destroy Colgate I guess he uses crest. Anyways, Time to give it up. I really hope coleman enjoyed the house we bought him and his family

I go to UK, Makers Mark has a special place in my alcoholic self destructive heart.

You still got about 10 to 15 years before you truly learn about your dependence to alcohol. [cheers]

You can send it in the mail. Ziploc baggy it and triple tape it. I'll pour it in my anus and photograph it for you.

The Kentucky cheats thing is getting so old. If we actually gave a parent a 6 figure job, the NCAA would have hammered us. There is local media that would rather throw the school under the bus than to write positive stories about us if they got wind of it. I guess nobody could prove the 6 figures we supposedly paid Anthony Davis.

They also think WWW was involved. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't he no longer associated with Coach Cal? If he picks us it will be because we have no returning guards and we have a ton of players in the NBA like he said. So give up on the excuses and realize that if we need a player there is a good chance we will get that player. Especially if they play PG.
