The problem your school runs into is that it's a second rate program located in the armpit of America. It's such a ****** place that anytime a top recruit even lists Scumacuse, the NCAA has to investigate because no reasonable person with other options would choose to live there.

Syracuse and Duke fans really don't understand the "one coach for 30 years" concept. They, specifically Duke, will have a huge drop off the next 5-10 years, and will get back to that level again.

Boosters/NCAA/ESPN can only do so much. They will lose their Olympic ties, and the powers that be can't force recruits there. What does a few extra calls matter when Duke isn't that good? Not to mention, that fanbase only knows Coach K. Many will go back to casual fans, and if the results start to drop off, the fan support will as well. There goes the cash-cow for ESPN and the sport itself.

There is a greater chance that Duke plummets into some form of mid-major/middling power conference school than retain their spot in the top5 with a new coach.

The thing is? He's just another recruit to UK. He chooses Cuse, it's their Super Bowl.

I don't blame them. Any recruit UK gets, they paid. Any recruit that goes to an elite OAD school, it was negative recruiting and illegal benefits that swung them. The script is the same there as it in at many other boards around the country.
