I’d take Knox any way we could get him. Let him play the 2, the 3, the 4; so long as he’s here.

Does UK need a legit small forward to win a national title? No, but it should be noted that the ’96 and ’12 teams both featured a future top 6 draft pick at the small forward position. Knox’s skillset is unique. I think he will end up being one of the top 3 players in this class when it’s all said and done.

Also, it would be great to get the small forward thing off UK’s back. Having guys you can point to at particular positions is a powerful tool on the recruiting trail. UK is lacking at the small forward position in recent years, and it would be great to change the trend.
Agreed. We already have two studs in PJ and Nick but we also need much more. Knox is almost a must get unless we land Diallo. I don't know of any shooting guards we are recruiting that can step in and fill the void. Granted Knox isn't a 2 guard but Cal could make it work. However, if we don't get these main recruits our class is going to be somewhat unbalanced. We are going to need scoring next year.

You have no clue. You are repeating what other negative nancies have said. Good God.!!!!!!!

Well I certainly have no clue either. But it seems like he was never conflicted before .. so now all of a sudden he's conflicted and travels to watch UK to get clarity???? Not buying that for a minute. Nobody asked him why he was at the game, after all it was MSG with 4 great programs playing. HIS COACH explains why he was at the game. WHY????

Someone who claims to be "in the know" over on the Syracuse forums claims he's signed an NLI for them and that's where he's going. Take that for what it's worth..

Andrew Slater said on Cats Pause last week that it was done for Cuse.

All this last minute stuff is purely to build hype and try to sucker in the biggest fan base in college to use as an audience for his moment.

These kids and their handlers no we help market them like no other.

Well, some other pretty good recruiting expert who can be a bit bossy believes it's UK.

Guess it depends on if you're glass half empty/full on who to believe.

I saw what he said. He didn't seem very confident one way or the other tbh

It doesn't take Nostradamus to figure this one out - he went to MSG feeling 50/50 about UK/Cuse. He left after watching UK dismantle a good MSU team while not playing our best ball. He goes to bed and wakes up ready to make a decision. If it's Syracuse then he must hate seeing a team play so well.

Who says he was was 50/50? You've got a guy that's supposedly as connected to Greens high school and AAU team as it gets saying he committed on his visit to Syracuse last weekend.

@Ron Mehico I keep hearing he's in the mold of Ulis. A true Point Guard, where as Young is a score-first point guard.

Personally, I'd rather have the facilitator. And if Green wants to commit to us early, you take him. Green also may bring recruits with him, where as that's not the case with Young.

Honestly.. Give me Green all day. I'd rather get him than Young as of right now.

I'd be happy with either. I'd think the one who commits first is the guy who wants the job the most.

Fixed it for you.

If you're thinking I'm claiming a source....no, I'm not! I've been around long enough to see the writing on the wall. Look really hard sir without the blue tinted glasses & you'll see it. :)

He took both an official and unofficial visit to Syracuse after his official to UK more than a month ago. The unofficial to Syracuse was just last week. Don't get your hopes up, people.

We'll see.

Wouldn't be mad about a class of

Green
Young
Alexander
Washington
Richards
Vanderbilt
Bamba

Plus maybe a grad transfer or JUCO wing. Or there's time for Cal to get involved with someone else. Alexander showed us there's kids out there just waiting for the opportunity.

This class is a long way from finished. Green would be an important step toward solidifying our backcourt, but I'll believe it when I see it.
We will not sign both Green and Young. Both are lead guards who can start from day #1 for ranked programs. You are confusing our need for guards with what is best for the kid from his point of view. Just 1 of those 2 is all I hope for. The other names on your list are doable.

I wasn't getting them up until he went to our friggin game. I was all resigned to the fact that he wasn't coming. Everybody was all "if he was going to UK he wouldn't have gone to a Syracuse game!" Then he up and went to a Kentucky game and makes me think "well the Syracuse game was nothing then!"

I still don't think he's gonna pick us but these little turds always do something at the last minute to give me a false sense of hope and my cynical psyche has just enough optomism in him that I'm like.....

How do you know? Now I'm not saying we will get both but I find it laughable at all the posts in this thread saying there's no way you get both Greene and Young. Has Cal not proven he is more than capable of signing more than one elite PG in a recruiting class. Wall and Bledsoe were both 5 star players and meshed fine on the court together. Briscoe and Murray are both PG's and came to play and start with a sophomore Ulis, who is also a PG.

I don't know if we'll get Greene and Young, we may not get either one of them. But Cal has proven he can get multiple elite PG's out of the same class. Position-less basketball is what he's selling and that is pretty much where the game is going.

What it comes down to is that no one on this board has a clue where Green is going. We will all have to wait until Sat. to fine out.

agreed

i highly doubt that his LOI was signed before Cal invited him to the game, that would be a violation
he may have given a verbal on his visit to Cuse, then again he may have not

we should know Saturday, so let's all just sit back enjoy our beautiful weather we are having

Those guys on Syracusefan site are cracking me up. In the last two posts I read one guy claims Nerlens flipped to UK from Georgetown literally 2 hours before his announcement. Nevermind that he went to the barber shop the morning of his announcement to get UK cut into the back of his hair.

The last guy says he "knows for a fact" that UK/boosters pay players. Well if he "knows for a fact" then he obviously has proof, why hasn't he informed the NCAA of this blatant violation? Grasping at straws....

EDIT:

Now there's a guy claiming UK paid "the young lady" Katina Powell to come forward and get Louisville into trouble. This is comedy gold!

We'd probably be pissed too if we only had one title in 117 years. :flush: [laughing]

2 facts:

1. Carmelo Anthony was at the game too. Three seats away from Wes.

2. Anthony's pockets appeared to be empty when he left.

Now who's cheating?

He can but he isn't Booker by any stretch of the imagination . More like Aaron Harrison in that he will have games where he goes 3-4 from 3 and then games where he goes 0-5 .
I hope your right and he surprises me with his outside shooting. Im just skeptical based on shot mechanics and scouting reports.

Alexander can't shoot. Not playing a Booker role.
You're the he first one to tell me that then because everyone else on here has said he's an excellent shooter. We all know you can never have too many shooters. I'm not saying he can shooter like booker only that he could play a role similar to booker
