EJ or Richards are not going anywhere even if we get Blackshear. The only one I see not coming here is McDaniel's.
Kyle Tucker said on his podcast yesterday that it may not be coincidence that Nick put his name in the draft the same day it was leaked that there was contact between UK and Blackshear.

I'd be surprised if Juzang isnt on the roster next year. Let Allen redshirt if he needs to. Plus, at his size and rebounding ability, we can play him anywhere from the 2-4 in certain lineups.

You don't find a ton of guys with bodies that ready who can shoot like that, and I think he'd be a top-15 kid (or higher) in 2019 because 2020 is so much deeper and more talented.

Well that happened even faster than I expected.

I will be shocked if Juzang commits tomorrow . I suspect he is going to announce he is reclassifying and name a top 3 or something . but I would love for him to commit to UK.

I think it's a reclass too, but it won't be long after that. Usually the reclass is announced when the kid already knows where he's going.

No coincidence. This was in works all along regarding Richards doing this. Same with Montgomery. Really no reason not to with how things are set up. What it does do is make recruiting/Free Agency in CBB and coaches need to recruit like everyone is gone. Now do we assume guys will return? Sure. But where they decide to go......it'll be chaotic especially now NCAA has so many live period events in June which will be when rosters are shifting and your incoming class is coming onto campus to enroll in Summer School. Let the games begin. LOL

While I’m not expecting to beat UK head-to-head for a 5 star, JJ has visited UVa and Guy did just announce yesterday that he’s not coming back. JJ has a clear path to 30 mins a game in Cville next year. Probably just wishful thinking though.

Knowing young guys these days--it's probably to announce he's decided to join the EYBL and not play for Compton Magic (I'm joking but it's never good to predict a teenager's announcement on social media any longer--I'm narrowing my top 50 to 49....)

Congrats on NC UVA fan. I've been a doubter of Tony Bennett's style being able to win in Postseason and he did it. So more power to him and the approach and enjoy the title.

Do we really need another 6-6 SF though?

I imagine that Whitney/Brooks/Allen will split the 3 if EJ returns because you will have EJ and Sestina at the 4. He probably gets time at the 2, but I would think a starting 5 would be:

Hagans
Maxey
Whitney
Sestina/EJ
Richards

If EJ leaves, I could see it, but again, he's playing behind Whitney for sure as Brooks and Sestina will share the 4. If the kid wants to be OAD, then his best bet is to say in '20 unless we go really small ball.

I was thinking we'd be looking for another guard along with a center.

JJ is interested in getting to the NBA quickly. What is UVA's track record for that?

Does this mean he will announce tomorrow that he's reclassifying and Monday when he visits he will go ahead and commit?

My guess....and that's all it is Juzang will announce he's reclassifying and give a list of schools he's narrowed it down to and deciding from. Maybe it's going to happen for UK then...we'll see? Like how UK is going about things recruiting aggressively and Juzang's an elite shooter who can also play, so it's a player you always find room for at any time. Just as is Blackshear, McDaniels, etc...and if others have issue with that, so be it. The program is being more off the grid in how they're recruiting and personally I like that approach.

I think you’re putting too much emphasis on his height, which essentially puts him at the 3 instead of the 2. Whats more important is the role he plays. We need a scorer/shooter and that’s the role he fills. If he had the exact same skill set but he was 6’4” he’d still be a very sought after player but he’s be listed as a 2.

He is a replacement for Herro, 6’6 SG. Shot 40%+ from the 3pt line during AAU.

JJ can play the 2 or 3. I don't think EJ will have any effect on him. Also, I'm not sure you understand how it works here. You don't have to start, you just have to perform. The NBA won't care about his minutes or numbers so long as they extrapolate to great production. Most of your concerns are non-issues.

Yes, but I assume Maxey will be playing the 2. That is why I am curious to where Juzang will come into play. It will obviously be off the bench, but I figured we'd get another guard who can play the 1 or 2 before we went after a SF who can also play the 2.

Either way, someone isn't playing much next year.

I suspect Maxey will now start at the 1 although I think Hagans and Maxey on the court together would be better.

Yes, but if we have a guy come off the bench, as expected, a year from now we will have people wondering why the heck Juzang is entering and signing with an agent because all they will see is that the came off the bench and contributed ya know 7-10 pts a game (a guess). His goal is to be OAD and that likely won't change with being a starter or bench player. However, people on here think that changes things.

Nice to possibly get a WC kid. With the PAC12 down and Zona having issues it, good time to recruit there.

He’d be a nice pickup who could play a little bit next season and be a major contributor year 2. That would be a good bit of roster management since we have Hagans, Maxey, and Quickley next year.
This kind of comment guarantees he’ll be a OAD player.
