My gut feeling (means nothing to anyone besides me), tells me EJ and Richards are staying in.

Yes y’all have. Y’all took two of my Terps recruits (Norman Nolan and he one that hurt the most, Justin Anderson)

NN was before the OAD era. And Justin was more raw than JJ is, and had Joe Harris in front of him.

Justine would have been a OAD somewhere else. NBA scouts had him as a OAD player and were baffled that he licked UVA when their system at the time didn’t fit his game

Agree. We want shooters on the wing. He’s a shooter. He’s a 2 in the NBA anyway.

Herro is now listed at 6ft6 so I don't see a big difference here just replacing Tyler and baker.

We definitely needed a shooter with Herro, Kj, and Baker leaving. Please, Baby Jesus let him announce tomorrow he's a cat. All lines up, let's F-ing do this! Juzang, McDaniels, and Blackshear! Then give us one back of EJ or Nick so we can at least be at 10 plus Allen.
How amazing would a team of be:
Ashton
Quickly
Maxey
Juzang
Whitney
Brooks
Allen RS?
McDaniels
Blackshear
EJ or Nick or both for 11 or 10 and Allen. #9 would start to look very close.

Why do people keep leaving off Mcdaniels but putting on Blackshear. We have a much bigger shot at Mcdaniels then Blackshear . I'd put a little money on Mcdaniels coming here while I wouldn't touch a bet on Blackshear ending up here. I think if he were to come back to college we would be in the running but I don't think he does.

Its almost like because he is so quiet that people think Mcdaniels isn't coming to Uk but think about it - when was the last time a recruit was really quiet and UK was in his top 2 and he didn't come here . Follows the Knox , Murray , Skal , Bam blue print to a T. A Kid who is leaving home and keeps it quiet to avoid backlash until he is ready.

This is starting to sound really favorable for UK. If we get Juzang and manage to add Blackshear, then we'll be a legit two deep at every position...provided Montgomery and Richards return. If Allen is able to play, we'll be in even better shape. Quickly and Maxey are pretty good shooters. Juzang and Allen are really good shooters. And Sestina can step out there and make some shots too. It will be nice to have multiple shooters on the floor at the same time.

This would still be a relatively young team and I'd love to see us add one more grad transfer for experience, but this is a team that should have a very legit chance of winning a title. This would be a deep team that could withstand a potential injury without disaster. It would have a good mix of talent/experience. It would be a tall, athletic team. And it should be a team that is above average in terms of Cal's UK teams in terms of shooting. This would be a very solid squad with very few weaknesses.

Juzang would be a nice get.

Hopefully we get him, we could use another shooter/scorer.

Hagans, Maxey, and Quickley rotating at the 1 and 2. Juzang gets a few minutes at the 2 as well.

Whitney and Juzang at the 3. Plus Allen, if he doesn't redshirt and fully recovers.

Brooks and Sestina at the 4. Or maybe McDaniels, with Sestina playing mostly at the 5.

Then hopefully we get Montgomery and/or Richards back at the 5 or get one back and add Blackshear.

Should be interesting.

I've been reading a little bit about him. He's half Vietnamese, he has an older brother playing ball at Harvard, and his high school is in a wealthy part of Los Angeles in north Hollywood. Apparently his father is CEO of a healthcare staffing company and his mother is a financial advisor.

Supposedly he's wanting to be a one-and-done, but it won't be for financial reasons. Sounds like his family is pretty wealthy.


(but we all know he'll leave after one year no matter what)
