That's what I heard. I think they said both guys think the other guy ignores the other. It's a shame because Beal is very talented, but if one has to go it ain't gonna be Wall. Beal looks to me like he's not dealing with any said friction very well, so something has to give. How long is Wall locked into Washington?
I think he moves into free agency in 2019?

And I wouldn't have had a problem if he drove the ball, as quick as he is, and as strong as he is, with 14 seconds to go, how in the world does not drive. If he does then he either A) makes the play, B)gets fouled C) gets fouled but doesn't get the call. My problem with him is in crunch time he has a tendency to get away from his strengths.

Gonzo said Wall took that shot because Scottie Brooks drew it up. Let's just marinate on that. People go full retard when you say *anything* negative about anything related to UK.

1. Scottie Brooks doesn't coach. He doesn't tell his players squat because he can't. Mike Brown gets more respect. He yells if they don't get 50-59 balls and they don't hear him anyway.

2. There was no play. Nothing could have been "drawn up".

It goes like this - Wall says "I got this." His teammates nod and tell him hell yea we got you. There's no discussion. He should have at least called gortat for a pick, but he thought different. He made a not great decision when it counted. It happens.

Wall got a clean look and missed. Not much more to say. Bad decision? No. He had/has been knocking down that elbow/wing jumper pretty consistently. He front rimmed it. His teammate followed his miss up with a wide open 14 footer that he shot 12 feet. Not a choke job by anyone involved.

I for one want Wall to play Bron Bron. I think people will think differently about Wall after that series. Wall loves to go against Kyrie. Kyrie cant guard him.

According to the Internet, Michael Jordan made every play ever and the rest of the players throughout history were chokers.

#TruthBomb

Hes a good player, athletic freak, and stat stuffer, but he will never ever win a championship anywhere.

He dribbled off his foot in his chance to win the championship in high school with Word of God.

He played awful in the NCAAT, and not only shot one for one million in the WVA game, but also failed to rally his ultra talented troops when he couldn't buy one.

Now in the NBA, same. Tonight he shot multiple air balls at crucial moments. Even in his "big night" where most of his points came in the first quarter, he choked when it mattered. His shot to win the game wasn't even close. He let his team get blown out in OT.

Cal gets the blame for "one of the most talented college teams to miss the final four" but the reality is the leader of that team is not equipped to win big pressure games. Period.

Is that you Cowturd?

It's the Cp3 question. Can you win a title when your best player is a pass first point guard? I don't think you can. Magic was a pass first guard but he had Kareem. It's a interesting discussion to have. Much better than jumping to the conclusion that Wall is a choker.

Yes, a pass first PG can win a championship. No player can win one by himself though. Never heard of the CP3 question though but I can tell ya that it's never been CP3's fault his team didn't win. A player has to have another STAR player around them, at least to contend.

I would say few things.

1. You can win with pass first PG as the best player, but very difficult. Very rare. The problem is pass first PG like Paul isn't very gifted physically so it's hard for him to get necessary buckets or defensive stop when needed.

2. It's not exactly Paul's fault. But Wall can do things Paul can't, physically. When playoff comes, unfortunately that becomes more and more true. However, this becomes more true when you have guy like Lebron, (KD Kawhi, mostly) who can do everything Paul/Wall can do but is few inches taller and longer.

3. Wall is pass first PG, but more accurately he is great PG. He can do different things to win you the game. His one flaw is his three point shooting, but beyond that his game is off the chart.

So, i agree that he needs another star, but Paul becomes too systematic on a team. He can't give you those wow play that defines a championship teams. He can't do those plays that isn't defined.

What Wall needs is a dynamic 3/4 player who can do amazing thing on both end. Unfortunately Lebron, Kawhi, and KD are all on another team. Too bad KD didn't pick Washington, because if they had..i would have given the title to Washington.

When LeBron hangs it up the East will be interesting and there is no reason the Wizards couldn't be right there at the top. Pretty amazing considering they had the number one pick just 7-8 years ago and John Wall has changed that organization ten fold.

It was TERRIBLE decision by a good player. This wasn't "just another play" this was a chance to win a playoff game. If I'm the coach there is no way that I want John Wall taking a fade away jump shot in that situation. He needed to try to get to the rim and make the defense collapse to get fouled or get a shooter a shot.

And shooting a 14 foot shot 12 feet during a game when you've been making the shot pretty consistently is kind of the definition of choking (short arming a shot in a tight game is universally known as folding under the pressure).

Beal was the one who took the middle of the paint jumper and airballed it by 2 feet, not Wall. Wall had a great look, just front rimmed it. Could he have tried to force it and drive the lane? Probably, but he had a clean look and missed. That's all.

Just absurd you consider him a choker.

Ok, he wasn't two feet short, but he still short armed it. Yes, brain farting and settling for a fade away jump shot is at best a terrible decision and at worst a choke job. It is not a winning play. If it was Steph Curry or Harden or the many other jump shooters in the NBA it would be different but shooting is not why Wall is considered a great player and in that situation you go to your strengths.

As a side note, in the infamous WVA tourney game Wall shot 5 3's and made one. I'm pretty sure Cal wasn't pleased that a 32% 3 pt shooter shot 5 threes in an E8 game. You could argue that's folding under pressure as well. But, he is fast, athletic and exciting so lets ignore his faults.

But lets at least be honest. I didn't say he was a choker, I said he choked in that game.

Lol at this thread again...took over in the 2nd half, game winning 3.

OP is praying for a game 7 loss, bc a guy that chokes surely doesn't take the wizards to the conference finals for the first time since the 70s.

Right, I'm totally praying for a game 7 loss for our UK kid, that's why I bumped this thread and ate crow haha. I said on like page 1 I hoped I was wrong and always rooted for all our guys in the NBA
