I'm pretty sure I just watched John Wall score like 18 straight points in the 4th quarter on the road of game 6 to close out the Hawks. Maybe I imagined that.
Dude is averaging 30 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block in the playoffs. And he's doing that while shooting 51% overall from the floor, 38% from 3, and 81% from the line.
But yeah, he's a choker because he missed a fade away 17 footer after dropping 40. Nevermind the fact he came up with a game saving block on a layup attempt 20 seconds earlier. He should have passed it to Beal who was 1 of 9 from three last night. Oh, that's right Beal short armed a wide open 13 foot jump shot with 2 seconds left too.
Horrible take.
So you're saying a fade away 15 footer is the "right play"? Lebron has been criticized for making the right play, Wall is being criticized for not making the right play.
To be fair, I lost money AND I am awake with a super-healthy 6 day old baby boy while mom sleeps. The antagonizing makes not sleeping a little more fun haha
Why does it have to be said? I don't understand why posters feel the need to tear down current and former players after a loss.I mean Kentucky fans are awesome as hell, but so predictable. We defend our own and try to scald anyone who talks bad about one of us. I get it.
But it doesn't change facts. Wall has lost almost every high pressure game he has played in his life--not only that, his fingerprints are all over those games at crunch time, and not in a good way.

As usual you never really read all of the OP's post. Irrelevant poster actually describes you.
False. He made a bunch of points and then decided to throw that line in there to compare Wall to Lebron. I was pointing out that the comparison is silly. In the example Lebron made the correct basketball decision, Wall did not, he simply dribbled around and took a poor shot. If you watch the play it was clear that Wall's intention was to shoot. They ran similar plays during the game and you could easily see that if he didn't get an opening he was finding someone, not this play.
Doesn't mean that he wasn't great during the game, especially the 4th quarter, it does mean that he choked away a chance to win in regulation.
If anyone is a choker it is you.#TruthBomb
Hes a good player, athletic freak, and stat stuffer, but he will never ever win a championship anywhere.
He dribbled off his foot in his chance to win the championship in high school with Word of God.
He played awful in the NCAAT, and not only shot one for one million in the WVA game, but also failed to rally his ultra talented troops when he couldn't buy one.
Now in the NBA, same. Tonight he shot multiple air balls at crucial moments. Even in his "big night" where most of his points came in the first quarter, he choked when it mattered. His shot to win the game wasn't even close. He let his team get blown out in OT.
Cal gets the blame for "one of the most talented college teams to miss the final four" but the reality is the leader of that team is not equipped to win big pressure games. Period.

What a choker! Tonight, he scored 40 points with 13 assists. Oh yeah, what a choker. Air balls? He was 16 of 32 from the field. Maybe he should have hit every shot.

This. Dude's clearly trolling. You don't say John Wall has the "choke gene" if you're a UK fan.Why does it have to be said? I don't understand why posters feel the need to tear down current and former players after a loss.

As usual, guys like you only read what you can understand. He called Wall a choker from high school, college and now the pros. If you're idiotic enough to believe all that crap then stop commenting on my posts. I like talking to people who make sense.
With the amount of TO's that Washington had after the 1st quarter, I don't know if I would have risked swinging it around and chancing a breakaway lay-up/dunk and a Celtics win. Wall had hit many a jumper already last night, so him holding to take one more 15-footer wasn't that bad of a call.

While your condescension is amusing you miss the point entirely, which only dealt with one game and a ridiculous comparison to Lebron James. Although you really can't argue that Wall is more highlight reel than smart basketball player. Hopefully as he matures that will improve.
But hey, keep telling other people that they don't read posts, or can't comprehend them. I'm fasicinated by the posted who like to project intellectual superiority on a message board.
LOL. He has the ability to make the highlight reel play when it is there, but he is one of the smartest PGs/players in the league. While your condescension is amusing you miss the point entirely, which only dealt with one game and a ridiculous comparison to Lebron James. I have no issue with criticism about ex-UK players. But there are ways to express your opinion without coming off as a bombastic blowhard. Saying John Wall has the choke gene is not something that aligns with the facts and is definitely not something I'd expect to hear from a UK fan. Just my opinion.I don't know, I still argue that with his ability to penetrate he should have taken a much better shot or made a pass.
Why is that? Are we not supposed to have honest opinions about ex-UK players? You may disagree with his point but that doesn't make him a troll. This board is morphing into a space ruled by the thought patrol. We are allowed to have different opinions.
Bradley Beal let John Wall down on Tuesday night. That is why the Wizards lost...Beal was a no show. It didn't help having Gortat and Morris foul out one horrible touch fouls that the Celtics were allowed all night. Look for the Wizards to get back to winning tonight and Saturday. Going back to Boston tied 2-2 with all the confidence in the world after giving Game 2 away.
Also crazy to note that Westbrook and Durant were *both* chokers when Scottie Brooks was their coach.
Wall took that shot at the end because that's all that was drawn up. Beal wants no part of that moment and had been awful all night. The play was everyone flatten out and hope Wall can make a tough shot. That's terrible coaching when your superstar isn't a great shooter, but it's been the basketball model for 30 years now.

I understand there is a lot of friction between those two anyway?I said that in this thread as well. Beal made no attempt to get open, even his body language was bad. Almost like he doesn't like Wall getting all the glory.
