That says it all. Guy was afraid. He didn’t believe in himself, and so he’s better off in Mormon land playing mid-major ball then disappearing.
You will recall that the gaping hole in our roster appeared rather late and really had no business appearing at all.Regardless of how this latest UK basketball recruiting saga works out, it is almost the last of April and we still have a need for one or even two front court guys and are basically scrambling to find someone or anyone. That is an undisputed fact--ideally, you would want to have your 2020-2021 roster set by now. It is not set. That is a little more than concerning when you're in that kind of desperation mode at this late date looking for the best available warm body despite having a gaping hole in your roster.
If true what I previously read, that Haarms is not seeking a high profile limelight, then, as we all know, UK is not a fit for him. However, our chances remain good if he is committed on winning a championship and also maximizing chances of getting to the NBA. I am also convinced that the so-called experts manning these positions in the cottage industry of recruiting prognosticators do not generally know any more than you or me. Our guess is as good as theirs.
Wait, is it JUST Evans that's reporting this. Not that I'm discrediting him.. But it IS just one guy.
I wonder why Cal didn't reach out to the VCU kid if he knew this was coming? No. The guys who said we had him are already apologizing and changing their tune. It's BYU.

I don't frankly care about any of this business of predicting who comes or not. But, you involved yourself, and broadcast to the world "100% Kentucky" that can only mean one thing, that he's coming to Kentucky. Now, you say that you "still believe he is coming here." Do you see any problem with that? I certainly do. Again, I care less about someone coming here or not, but care a lot more about someone on here delivering the equivalent of fake news. If you do not know, it's best for all of us if you don't make brash statements.Still believe he is coming here
Yes, late. You help me make my point. You will recall that the gaping hole in our roster appeared rather late and really had no business appearing at all.
Somewhere Pitino is getting some amusement out of this: McCarty kicked us on the court and Pope kicked us off of it.
Haarms
McDaniels
Blackshear
Dante
We've sucked the last two summers.

Sure we do. He had an offer to play for a coaching staff that just turned Nick Richards from a project into a first rounder, and that had produced guys like Davis and Towns and Noel and Randle and Cousins and WCS and on and on.Is that it?
Could it be that the kid just liked their sales pitch more?
Why disparage his personality? We have no idea what his thought process was.
Dave really has to stop posting. He has been so wrong so many times lately there is no credibility left.
Yes and it gets really old all of them are BIGS!Haarms
McDaniels
Blackshear
Dante

I sure hope you're right we need one of them for sureCal will pull a rabbit out of the hat. Banchero or Kuminga would be better than Haarms.

Or he could play for a mid Major that gets on national TV twice in November and hasn’t produced an NBA big since Shawn Bradley.
So you take on the challenge and go for it or you take the easy road, then go play in Belgium.
The thought process is the same as the above average guitar player who gets a shot with a top national act, but decides to stay in Milwaukee. Or the promising scholar who gets invited for a semester try out at Harvard, but decides to stay at Cleveland State.
Some people don’t believe in themselves so they rationalize staying small time.
The kid didn’t even play basketball until 7 years ago. Rankings are based on two things, politics and potential and he had plenty as an athletic, 7’ player. Absolute project player unless you think 4 years of basketball in high school is all you need to hone your skills and dominate.Where are you getting that Nick Richards is supposedly "a first rounder"? Not according to the mock drafts that I've seen.
And I might point out that Nick started out as a Five Star McD All American, which ain't exactly the place where "projects" typically begin. He was a disappointment his first two years, it took him three years to finally become the player folks thought he'd be when he started.
I agree, and think this points to a larger problem: making late moves for inferior players. You know, the initial negativity of this actually makes it pretty clear that it's probably not as big of a deal as it seems.
I don't think any of those guys drastically changes UK's fortunes. McDaniels would have been nice, but I'm not sure we're better with him than what EJ was giving us, especially if it had pushed Brooks to transfer instead of return.
I'm sure you aren't a troll, right? It’s truly a shame that Purdue’s 7th man won’t be coming to UK to be their star player. Sounds like he made his choice based on coaching.
And we'll still kick a lot of *** next year and don't you forget it.It’s truly a shame that Purdue’s 7th man won’t be coming to UK to be their star player. Sounds like he made his choice based on coaching.
Nailed it. Someone posts a tweet from random UK homer, next thing you know caneintally is giving complex breakdowns of the roster that are more involved than the chess game on Star Trek, with half the guys not even being on the roster. And at the end we are destined for 40-0.And part of it is the posters who start threads that quote tweets from random people who are just guessing. Someone in the thread will lend the tweet some form of street cred and off we go, with the board igniting and BBN penciling in a kid we "really need"; then only to not land him and watch the same folks write, "we didn't really need him."
I hate the late-spring/early summer period. It's usually bad news regarding departures followed by a whole lot of "meh."

It's true! And half the kids aren't even on the roster, yet!The part about caneintally....[roll]
Is that it?

Evan Daniels says Haarms to BYU.yep we have our centerpiece
Yes! And roughly 37 players on the roster, all of which are top 50 players.I do enjoy how he projects about five or six McDonald's All Americans being okay with coming off the bench each year in his depth charts.

I love his passion, don't get me wrong. He just gets so carried awaydamn, if this ain’t the truth
Caneintally is delusional
