Most euphoric tourney moment for me was the 2014 win over Louisville. Would think it would be a Final Four or championship win but no, it was that one. Trail the entire time, WCS gets hurt, had no business coming back and winning that game. Can still remember listening to Mags and Drew doing the pregame show at the "Louisville" spot in Indy and going full heel. Would love to listen to that again.

The 1998 Duke win would be a very close second.

Had chest pains after the 2015 Notre Dame game. It was at that time I determined I should not allow sporting events to have such control of my life and emotions. That lasted roughly a week as I sat out on my deck numbed to the cold by the loss of the game that shall not be mentioned as I sipped bourbon in complete darkness contemplating life again.

I'm not proud of any of this btw. Admitting you have a problem is half the battle though.

12 year old SWFL ran into his bedroom and cried like a little girl after that 86 LSU loss. That was a hell of a squad. 32-4. Nothing much worse than losing in the E8. Ugh
One of three UK screwings (we had had to beat Bama for a fourth time before getting LSU for the fourth) that I recall leading directly to rule changes.

Second was shot clock review following, well, you know.

Third was review for goaltending after the home LSU loss.

-UK over Duke in 98. Watched at the palmer house hotel bar in Chicago...was in town for the Midwest Rugby championship. Lost to a bunch of kiwis from Kalamazoo. Iirc.

-football: beating UF in the swamp. My wife said English Jay and I squealed like teenage girls...and lamented that I don't show that sort of emotion in "real life". Whatever, toots. Go cats.

wasn’t the loss to MTSU on their home court another reason for NCAA rule change?

i’ve heard it was anyway -

the — “No more playing in your own damn arena” rule i think it’s called

[laughing]

I ran around Chumps' and my alma mater's hilly Tennessee campus after the 2007 LSU win with pure joy and told Vol fans to suck it. I regret nothing.

The gentleman holding on to the rail wearing khakis and a blue oxford jumping up and down like a maniac when Padgett hit his three against Duke remains my favorite UK fan ever. Wish I knew who that dude was/is,

I love the black dude in the band pounding that drum in 2014 either in the waning moments of the Louisville game or after one of Aaron’s bombs.

Not sure how he got the nickname 'The Master Blaster', but the dude was a phenomenal athlete who also had a 90+ MPH fastball. He never did live up to his potential though.

This guy here is the original Master Blaster.

thought about “drum guy” just last night - how cool

had a great NCAA Tourney themed convo with an AZ friend last night - aside from admitting that his Wildcats we’re looking great ....

and aside from the mutual agreement that we’ll observe a ONE WEEK period of silence / no contact when our respective team loses -

the most rewarding part of the call was his enthusiastic acknowledgment of UK football being “no joke “ and “tough as nails” -

love those Cats baby —

A lot of consternation for a bubble team. We can debate whether this team should've made the field over another team. You're on the bubble for a reason.

And if your entire body of work (like getting swept by Vandy and losing to Mizzou) isn't enough to just squeak into the field, do us a favor and STFU...

The Championship game against Utah I was the only UK fan in the bar. Was given **** all the first half of how overrated we were. Right before the second half stood up and told every mouth breathing inbred I’d bet them each a Hundo that I’d be singing and dancing in 20 minutes. Also told them when Utah’s white honks were walking up the court with around 10 minutes to go my team would be running and gunnin’. Bartender started taping $100’s on the draft dispenser and they were all laughing. When we hit the 10 minute mark and the honks started walking I made damn sure everyone knew it. The last 2 minutes of the game was a drunk and happy btodd running around the bar giving everyone **** and hollering GO BIG BLUE!! Walked out later that night still screaming GO BIG BLUE with all their Hundo’s in my pocket.

It gets overlooked, but the most angry I’ve ever been about a UK loss was when we lost in Philly to Southern Cal. I will forever blame that day on Pitino. All week long all the talk nationally was about the Kentucky/Duke E8 rematch on the same court as the epic 92 game. All we had to do was beat USC first, which was pretty much an afterthought. No one even considered we might lose to them.

Then on the morning of the game, Pitino announced he was taking the UofL job. BBN was in total shock. I was in Philly at the time and the news spread through BBN like a wildfire. It was a combination of shock and disbelief. What had been a normal rowdy Big Blue tourney gathering, suddenly turned more subdued. You can feel it in the arena during pregame. You could see it when the players came out. I told my buddy right then, “we’re going to lose today”. Our guys played flat and disinterested from the opening tip. We made rallies but never for long.

Pitino and UofL could’ve waited until after the weekend to make the announcement. They knew what they were doing. I hated Pitino, and especially UofL, before then, but my hatred grew a million fold that weekend. Thats when we learned how little respect Pitino had for UK and UK fans. I still get pissed just thinking about it.

HAHAHAHAHA
THATS awesome

we’re you in salt lake for that ?
makes it even more epic if so

spent several biz trips in SLC and down around the University/Whiskey district and could see their pompous ashy faces slowly realizing you’d bested them [laughing] 💰

i watched that entire final four and 98 title game alone in a small common area of my barracks in Kapaun Germany - your experience is much better ;)
