The first time I went to Japan was is in June and I arrived late and didn’t close the hotel curtains. Sun came up at like 4:20am. Up for the day after that.

Constant DST in Eastern Kentucky would mean days where it would still be dark at like 8:00 or 8:30 am right? That equals kids getting on the bus in darkness which is not a great idea.
This is a good and valid observation. I agree completely with not messing with moving the time anymore. But the permanent extra light should be in the morning - not the evening.

Early to bed, early to rise. Nothing productive happens after sundown.

In November - February I went to work in dark and came home in dark - no clue what the hell you guys are talking about. An extra hour of sun in the evening would be great - who the hell would argue this??

- My desert island cut of meat is the center cut pork chop. Are there more intriguing options? Sure. Is there a single cut that can be done so many different ways, and never fails to deliver maximum deliciousness? No way.

- Anyone else know anything about Bybee pottery? My mom was always nuts about driving down to Berea on the Saturdays they opened. As a result she has boxes and boxes of the stuff, and has been gifting me stuff steadily over the years. It’s the most amazingly rugged and beautiful everyday ware. I love using it.

- A “spring resolution” I started this week was stopping at my butcher every night on the way home from work to get the dinner meat. I pass his shop on the way, no excuse not to. It makes you think more intentionally about what you are going to eat when you buy it right beforehand, versus the drudgery of trying to plan everything in your head for the entire week on the way to Kroger on the weekend. In that case, I favor simple and easy, and sometimes lazy. Buying it the day of has had me cooking better and more interesting stuff, and I enjoy it more.

- Sometimes it’s the little things that add value and meaning to your day. Mosttimes?

- My office’s new location is across the street from an Irish bar. On St. Patrick’s Day, they have an infamous hell raging party, with the street closed down and everything, that gets rolling at 6am. There is no way I can possibly work with that going on outside my window. I might last to 11. If that. I already put my wife on notice to not depend on me for that entire day, and to factor in time on Friday morning to give me a ride to my vehicle. After she drops off the kids at school.

- Thinking seriously of Red Rocks for this Turnpike Troubadours revival.

They put one of those LPD portable radar guns in front of the school next to my house so now my nightly runs end like this.

Nervous but confident for 1996 UMass. When Epps took over at point after that loss to them at the beginning of the year, it totally changed that team.

Wasn’t nervous at all before 98 Utah. Even when we were down 10, I was fine.

Went to Frisch’s afterwards with my old man and had a Super Big Boy. I was 16.
That team played better from behind, and I wasn’t comfortable with it until the Duke comeback.

Not for sure if we struggled against that Stanford team too, but memory sure says we did.

Most nervous pre game for me was 2003 Marquette. Senior year at UK, #1 seed, tubby trying to get another F4. Almost got arrested at Varsity Blue after I kicked open emergency exit door setting off alarm.
I’m with you on this. Junior year of college. Was a wreck beforehand. Game was in the afternoon, I was surrounded by friends rooting against me. Some of the same LSU fans I’d watched the “Bluegrass Miracle” game on the same tv with a few months earlier. They obviously weren’t Catholics - just Southern ******* pricks. I hit some friends that night.
