- Big thanks to Strokin' Bandit for the Sweet 16 ticket hookup last night. Great seats and great to spend time with my dad at the event where we'd make an annual pilgrimage back in the day.

- I know nobody cares about highschoolbasketballsucka, but GRC (when did they stop being "Clark County"?) is a deep, talented, and well-coached team. Rolled a hapless Perry County Central team by 50 or so. Someone's gonna have to play an A game and hope GRC plays a C game to have a shot. The Morton kid is good, but I don't think he's anywhere near UK-good.

- All the buzz in the building was to see Reed Sheppard in action. Obviously GYERO already gets it, but Billy Joe Wildcat's gonna have to have very reasonable expectations. You can tell he's a player. But man, Pikeville defended him flawlessly. Wore him out, rarely gave him an open look, and when he did get a look, his shot was off. Only one other North Laurel kid could provide any offense at all, so Sheppard was basically stagger-doubled all night. Will clearly be better in a situation where there are at least 3 other scorers on the same floor. He has shined in the summer playing with/against elite competition, so I still have zero doubt he's Kentucky-level, but last night....woof. Felt bad for the kid.

- It's not that Rupp ice cream is BAD....it's just not worth the wait. Or the hype. Spend two minutes in line. Glazed cinnamon pecans. Profit.

- "Steps called".

Working till 4 and then done - wife is out of town tomorrow to go to DC and dropping off my kids at my parents to spend the night and then checking out the new sports book downtown if I stay sober enough. This will be the longest 6 hours of the year.

Looking at all locations of today’s games, there’s no way the Indy games aren’t the first 2 games on Saturday. Those are exclusive windows. The only other option would be Buffalo and no national brands are playing there.

We get 2 floating holidays every year that can’t be cashed out so I use them on these two days every year. Already have my spare TV set up in the living room with the March Madness App running.

Granted I still have 2 pre-schoolers running around the house but this is the last year for that.

-Just finished my Bryant bracket 30k in the air on the way to Vegas So many f’n UT fans wearing orange on this flight. Over the Grand Canyon now and that’s just an amazing place.

-I have an NIL deal in my email for Oscar that all I have to do is sign. Not going to do it for what they are asking. I believe there is 10-20% chance Oscar returns. These thoughts are from discussions where I’ve explained his real value is this year he returns but that’s falling on deaf ears.

- He had a higher grade than the mocks had him early on. The grade is late first round from what I’m told.

-UT dropped 8 million on a QB. That’s just insane.

T Pain style Shawties:

-Christmas is here, folks. Congrats.

-Timed perfectly with some unbelievable weather. Talk about a jolt to the system.

-Had the boys out until dusk taking infield. Crack of the bat. Shew. Washed it down with a couple tall OF Rye pours.

-Annual boys trip to Reds(f*cking c*ck s*ckers) away game. Bombers in July? Will we recognize a single player by then?

-Doesn't sound like all UL fans are happy with the hire. I get it. I'm not sure we have a distinct comparison but no HC experience would scare the sh*t out of me. The relationship with Cal seems to be the real issue for the old school fans.

-I've had some really good St Patty's Days but that is a young man's game. I'm wearing blue today.

-We're about to go on a run, I just feel it. I think we have some fortitude with this group.

-I'm ok with Ware/Oscar lineups if Oscar gets an early foul. Assuming Poppin/Brooks aren't also playing.

-Bryant's coach was a real Goomba. Probably not a coincidence.

-Tucker's family pieces are amazing. TyTy's is great.

What a quote: “If you go to Kentucky, you’re chasing ghosts. You’re chasing history. Everybody that came before you, you gotta take what they took, the cussing out, the whatever, and hopefully get the same results. He understood the challenge of coming to Kentucky. He understood once you get here, you’re not the first five-star. John Wall played here. You’re nothing special. You’re just another freshman coming in trying to earn your stripes.”

-If we get behind, I'd love to see 4 guards and O. Won't happen.

-For the reals:

As much as one can be annoyed by Kyle Tucker's politics, the guy is the best writer and journalist covering UK sports ever since he moved here from Blacksburg. Maybe is prose isn't quite on the level of Chuck Culpepper when he was at the LHL, but his reporting is must-read stuff year round. By himself, he's worth the subscription to The Athletic.

-those commies at Berea College (and their effete architect friends) scheduled a bid at 2 today. Sad face.

-so it was the dickhead gc's pressing for the number today...actually bids tomorrow*. Welp...at least I'm ahead of the game.

^game on.

*I know no one cares...but I cannot lay blame on the blameless, even if they are commies or worse(architects).

-thanks justa...it's a remnant of the BS in Philosophy I reckon.

Saw John Mulaney at the Yum Center Saturday night. Great way to knock off the disgust from the game. Ruby's after. Never regret that reservation, especially when you just need something to be exactly what you expect.

Would you believe the Brown Hotel doesn't have SEC Network? In Year of Our Lord 2022?

Highland Morning for brunch the next day.

Think we take it for granted because it's right here, but Louisville is a great city. Love that springtime energy that rolls in this time of year. Lots of Blue.

-One thing I've realized about this town is that it's just barely big enough to find pockets where people don't give a **** about UK or UofL. Not excusing the Brown (that's ridiculous), but generally speaking.

-CONTROVERSIAL: I've added that smarmy little **** Mick Cronin to my shortlist for Cal replacements when the day comes.

If he doesn't win one at UCLA first, he checks the "human sacrifice for a title desire" box. Big intangible, IMO.

That's fine. Nobody's ever given me a single good candidate, for the record. Dude's taken a traditional power to a Final Four. Is recruiting at an elite level. Chip on his shoulder. Kentucky could do a whole helluva lot worse.

Okay if you don't like him, I get that.

The way Cal put Cronin in a corner kind of soured me on the guy.

Mega Cuck vibes coming off the dude. Probably has an ace of spades tatted on his ***.

Decent 3 games right out of the gate to kick off the NCAA-T...

Was admittedly hard to get excited about the NCAA-T last year. Slept like a 6yo on Christmas eve last night.

Lets. F*cking. Go!
