LOLOLOLOLOL......... And THIS is the first time there has been ANY statement from the top on ALL of this. Go figure.....Why "eyes" is the first public statement from the "commish" on player safety during all of this fallout? Quite a few NBA players, (all of them black by the way) have come out and said that claims that the action by Thomas were accidental are totally BS. They all said that NO ONE falls and tries to catch their weight by balling up their fist. NO athlete would fall that way. You would run a high risk of breaking your knuckles or wrist by making that kind of movement, and it is NOT a natural movement. When you fall you spread your fingers out and use the width of the hand and palm to catch yourself. Not my statement.
And she was suspended. What's your point?

Why does Ant Edwards go after Reese?
Weird.
This whole incident is crazy.
It was a foul...refs missed it..happens all the time.
The replay review on the second non- foul was dangerous and did knock CC out...that was truly bad.

That ref needs to be held to account and should not be assigned to any fever games

Otherwise...move on.

Unfortunately Sophie and Bonner have their own History. Most of her actions had nothing to do with that game. Bonner like Thomas has a history as an antagonist, and her "walking out' on the Fever last year certainly gained her no love lost from the players or fans of the team.
And I'd still venture to say game 2 wouldn't have escalated to that point, had Sophie not done the pointing in game 1.

Then she talks about the league failing to protect CC. SMH. Step up and do it yourself

But it was okay for Bonner to do EXACTLY the same thing. What is your deal dude? Did her actions not lead to Wednesday, let alone her walking out on the team last season and some of her comments after she left? Do you think last weeks "festivities" happened in a vacuum?

Are you for real? The point is commish of this crap show said NOTHING about the the two dustups on Monday or Wednesday. NO public comment about Thomas's actions on Wednesday from her, even though it was on every talk show, and pretty much everyone who isn't a black female, (and even quite a few of them), said publicly that Thomas's actions were not accidental, and she continues to commit unsafe acts against opponents. You can watch numerous plays of her doing "non basketball" clear outs and risking injury to other players and the ONE constant you see in EVERY clip is Thomas walking away, smiling or laughing. So where was Engelbert front and center with her public outrage last Thursday?

I'll just add this. Many, including some here are trying to make this about something Caitlin Clark, did or didn't do. Most of this backlash, racial tension and baiting have nothing to do with her. She's become the poster child for the anger from both sides and goes to much deeper issues across our country. I feel really bad for her. I really think she just wants to play the game she loves, and is so good at, and this has gone so far south I highly doubt we'll ever see the best of what could have been from her.

Agree. This can't be the least bit fun for her right now. Every game is something different.

WNBA officials call phantom fouls but do not call very serious fouls or some that could be called assaults. It needs to clean house.

CC is the one who took the brunt of game 2.

I do not think game 2 would have escalated to that point had Sophie handled game 1 better.

Just a guess. But quite straightforward

For past behavior to have been considered in AT's punishment, may very well have been appropriate.

I don't see any reason for public comment, though. This isn't a soap opera. If anything, meet privately with AT

Why?

Back issues are nagging. But they can be overcome

Clean house with referees?

Where are they supposed to find better ones? The good ones aren't leaving their current gigs.

What needs to happen is vigorous off-season training to try to get them up to speed
