Explain to me how naming a starter fundamentally changes the equation, particularly if both QBs are going to play anyway. Or at the least, explain how not doing so rises from something that might represent a fair difference of opinion to something that is “inexcusable and incompetent.”

All can suffer when you are so lilly-livered after almost a year you still can't make a decision.
