Maybe not, but it did when you appeared on the Jumbotron in your full regalia.RAC never reaches peak in blowouts

1) since when is 110 - the entire section - just for RU Athletics?110 isnt the student section, it is reserved for athletics.
Good thought!Put them in the middle 1/3rd of the left section so they have to stand, and they will get a much better experience being surrounded by students that are going crazy the whole game.
That doesn't even make any sense here. You're lost.Enough, stop spending other people's money,
Some competitive play on the field by our football team would do way more in helping our chances with these recruits than a basketball game.
That doesn't even make any sense here. You're lost.
Because you are telling Athletics what to do with their tickets. The students arnt entitled to anymore tickets than what is appropriated to them. They get a lot of tickets and when the RAC is redone I am sure they will get more. Which I am sure the same people will ***** about because the students will get first 6 rows of the sidelines. That doesn't even make any sense here. You're lost.
The people who sit in those seats donate more money than the season ticket prices and mandatory donations. Many of the folks in the lower section of the RAC are also season-ticket holders and donors to football (the Towers, for example), so displacing these longstanding and donating people will result in a rapid depletion of funds. And even if the reduction of revenue was only $750k, not only is that a lot of money for our athletics department, it doesn't solve a problem because there is no problem that needs to be solved other than students finding out ahead of time that they've got tickets.Where does $2 million a year come from? 500 students times 20 games a year at $75/ticket is $750K. They’d probably just build it into student fees spread across all undergrads, so it would cost each student about $20-25/year extra on their bills to keep the AD neutral.
We’d still have premium and courtside seats, and donations wouldn’t go to zero. The ticket revenue would likely be made up through increased student fees. Some people from the 200s would be able to move to the 100s on the baselines in the renovated arena. The people who sit in those seats donate more money than the season ticket prices and mandatory donations. Another problem that this would create is for the people in the 200's who have been waiting to move down to the 100's when something opens up. They won't ever get down there, and that will alienate them as well. It's just a thoughtless idea with no upside for a non-problem. It creates a lot more problems than it would solve, since there is nothing to solve in this instance.
Totally agree with the students behind the baskets on both sides. Not sure what the arrangement is with the ticket holders opposite the student section, but if there is a push for more student seating, that would be a likely place to alter that section. But that also needs to be weighed against the revenue generated by newly minted season-ticket holders. We’d still have premium and courtside seats, and donations wouldn’t go to zero. The ticket revenue would likely be made up through increased student fees. Some people from the 200s would be able to move to the 100s on the baselines in the renovated arena.
The better solution is probably having students on both baselines behind the baskets (lower value seats and would interfere with opponents’ shooting in both halves), but I’m sure it will be fine no matter what as long as the team is still good.
Thats pretty annoying, and definitely worth pissing off long time donors.
We can't act like we've been there or spend like we've been there until we've gotten there and have those resources. For ****'s sake, it takes 15 minutes for us to take a piss at halftime, so the picture above is tendentious in our situation. As nice as it is to see arms waving in a picture and imagine that being us, those who follow the money trail know it has to come from somewhere. If down the line we have a history and the money of Duke, we can consider such wholesale changes, but we finally (finally!) have something that is working right now, and in true internet fashion some are considering going scorched earth on the big donors and the most loyal fans over the decades. The students matter, but Rutgers fans' status as alumni lasts much longer. What message would it send to students that the administration doesn't value their loyalty once they graduate?
Can someone explain to me the benefits of students sitting along the sidelines? We already have an awesome atmosphere so what is the benefit?
Exactly- such a bad look on TV also with all those empty seats.I didn’t say they don’t have seats for recruits. They do. They sure as hell, however, don’t give them the first 20 rows of the student section.
You basically just said we should never allocate basketball tickets for recruits in the student sectionSO WHAT? I am as big of a football fan as there is, **** I’m literally the only fan of the program who was chosen to be on the Big Ten special about the Louisville game, but I am 100% against this. Those seats ALWAYS should be for the students if they can fill them. If they can’t fill them, fine, then put the recruits at the top of the section. There’s absolutely no need to do this. No other school in the country does it as such.
Yes, he did. Dude is all over the place. Earlier in the thread he said the recruits should be given crappy seats and forced to stand. I'm sure that will help Coach Schiano secure commitments. You basically just said we should never allocate basketball tickets for recruits in the student section
LOL. I guess we all have to agree with your incoherent rants, then.I am as big of a football fan as there is, **** I’m literally the only fan of the program who was chosen to be on the Big Ten special about the Louisville game,
1) the ENTIRE section is not just for RU Athletics; not sure where you’re getting this info?2) IDK what the point is of this comment is. Again the section is for Athletics to determine what to do with.
3) They aren't doing that.
6:30 is a terrible time! Made me miss opening tip! Please no “where is everyone 6:30 is a horrible time” posts.![]()
I'm not "all over the place." My stance is and always has been that football recruits shouldn't be given the 1st 10-20 rows of the student section. Period. I've felt this way from day one and would say the same thing if we won The Rose Bowl last year. That being said nowhere - NOWHERE - did I EVER say that football recruits should be "FORCED TO STAND." I said that they should be put "in the 300's." That's it. On the other hand I was joking that the band should "stand," that's all, as they literally use to be ON THE FLOOR at THE RAC when many of us, @Scarlet Shack, @PatrickRU92, @SirScarlet and others, were students. Most people here knew exactly what I meant by that, btw, hence the complete lack of responses to me regarding the comment other than yours. Maybe I shouldn't have included it in the same (punctuated) sentence so that your brain could've figured it out instead of coming off as a 75-moniker obsesses idiotic creep again?Yes, he did. Dude is all over the place. Earlier in the thread he said the recruits should be given crappy seats and forced to stand.
1. I mean watch any game Rutgers plays they Athletics doesn't give those to students and don't sell them. I have been going to Rutgers basketball for two decades and it has always been that way.1) the ENTIRE section is not just for RU Athletics; not sure where you’re getting this info?
3) Why not? WHY do 100 people or so - sitting on their asses and talking on their phones - get to take up about 250 seats which could be otherwise packed with students actually cheering?
Okay...let me put it this way: those ARE student section seats. They just at times, however, "choose" to use them otherwise and have only done so, cough-cough, since GS arrived (approx "2 decades ago). Get what I'm saying? As someone who has sat in 110 as a student many times, and been to 100's of games at THE RAC, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there were (even during The Douby Days - when I assume you were in school - ) and will be again this season I'd bet, regular old students in those seats.1. 2. Because Athletics deems those tickets can be used for whatever they want. Which is usually giving them to athletes to use or other athletic programs for bringing in recruits and families. They are well within their rights to do so and it is good for other athletic programs at the school.
I get you admit I was right that this has been going on for decades, it won't change and it will keep happening. Those seats are not reserved for students and are very rarely if ever given to students.Okay...let me put it this way: those ARE student section seats. I completely get what you're saying, I honestly do and don't want to argue, but there's a reason you may have heard here-or-there that they are "athletic department" seats the past 2 decades. "Follow the bouncing ball" so-to-speak lol!
It hasn't been going on for "decades." It's been going on since sometime during GS 1.0 (so 2 decades at best) however definitely not when Douby was playing.I get you admit I was right that this has been going on for decades, it won't change and it will keep happening.
