Should be a real eye opener. Some of the ones saying anti Pope fans are the reason we can’t get a coach and are horrible for the program were very vocal about getting rid of Calipari. News flash it was a major mistake and our program is about to suffer big time. They’re still to prideful to see it though and have major hope with Pope!
It wasn't a mistake for Cal to be gone from UK. The golden times were done. The mistake is Barnhart/Pope. Insane that we finally have a chance to hire a coach and Pope is what we went with.

I don’t disagree with you. Pope wasn’t the guy, but man it’s hard to not watch Arkansas in the SEC championship with Acuff and the #2 recruit next year and not think what if

Perry with some big time plays. A big time 3 and a big nice pass for another 3.

I wonder if Perry would better at year 2 under Pope. Man we could of used him.

Ole Miss does not look tired.

I’d argue that Cal might have lasted a few more years if boosters didn’t shut off the NIL cash flow. The amount of money boosters have wasted in Pope compared to Cal is ridiculous. Maybe Cal would’ve retired here and if Mitch retired before Cal a new AD could have made a hire worthy of Kentucky.

Cal needed a change and so did we. It happens. It was similar with Rick Barnes and Texas to Tennessee. Barnes last several years at Texas were very underwhelming and warranted a move for both. Then Barnes turns tennessee into a perennial top 10-15 team.

This will be the first time Cal has played in the sec championship in nearly a decade.

Prior to this seaosn, since 2018 he was 3-6 in the sec tourney. Now he’ll be 5-6. And averaging over 10 losses a season. Would y’all have really been happy with that? The answer is no.

I wanted Cal gone myself, but if I knew we were going to hire Pope, I’d stuck with Cal. For all of Cal’s BS, I still loved him for what he once was. I’m beginning to resent Pope.

Texas lost that deal though. They’ve been through multiple coaches since and haven’t been much. They’re about to be 25-8 and 14-5 playing for a conference championship. It would be a heck of a lot better than the last two seasons under Pope

No no. Some dude called FatCat says we’re not good enough for Cal. He’s beat Oklahoma and Ole Miss. He’s back!

Fouled with too much time left now instead of only being just tied if Ole Miss made a 3 if they get a turnover or Arky misses a FT they open themselves up to losing.

I am all for fouling up 3 but I want it to be when it forces the other team to have to miss the 2nd FT with so little time left.

I’ve always been pro fouling up 3, but now with the continuation rule they can take a step and toss it after the foul and get three free throws. Might change things moving forward

It’s just Barnhardt for me. I’m not mad at Pope. I’m a little mad at Cal because i think he just gave up on trying to win here in favor of draft night. In that last season it was clear he was sacrificing wins to push Edwards and DJ’s draft status.

But i dont and never have thooght Cal was a bad guy.

But Barnhardt is the #1 reason we are where we are now. He hung onto tubby too long. And gives incentives for too little. And now he’s made one of the laziest hires in Pope.

And if we end up with who Barnhardt wants as AD, one of his people basically…well…UK basketball is cooked.

Arky should have just played defense. If they hit a 3 they hit it. Fouled way too early.

Cause they don’t have a coach constantly telling them and everyone how tired they are ???

Man Perry is night and day from last year under Beard. Even though Ole Miss has a worse record than us.

I would love to ask Perry what the main difference is between Beard and Pope's coaching ability for his play.

Pope is not respected. Not a good leader.
