I emailed Pat during the game asking him to please fire Ash and fix the program. $10 million to get rid of Ash sounds like a bargain. Get rid of him and bring in a coach who can make us winners again. 8-12 thousand fans at a B1G game is a joke.
Gentlemen, there is no math that supports firing Ash after this season. Everyone who touts the "empty seats" angle is either overstating or just plain ignoring the numbers.
Absent a donor buyout *and* donor-led subsidy of a significantly upgraded coaching staff - so figure something like $20 million, total - there's zero appetite among Barchi & BOG to throw good money after bad just for the sake of "winning".
Uhh Rutgers will never pay 5 million a year for a head football coach.
I’m curious as to where you found those numbers? Not saying they are wrong.
I agree with this.you wanna stop season ticket sales drop and attendance bleeding..go hire Schiano...that would happen if McCormick was President.
Schiano is the only hire that can immediately stop the money bleed and fans leaving in droves
Its more a Hobbs attitude towards Schiano.Barchi probably dosent know who SCHIANO EVEN ISI agree with this.you wanna stop season ticket sales drop and attendance bleeding..go hire Schiano...that would happen if McCormick was President.
Schiano is the only hire that can immediately stop the money bleed and fans leaving in droves
However I have also heard that he won't come until Barchi is out of here. I do not know however if it is that is Schiano's choice or Barchi's choice.
Will the last person left on the board please turn out the lights. He’s so bad that after train wrecks like today, the boards aren’t even in meltdown mode. No body even cares / has any expectations anymore. Pathetic.
could have paid Fleck 3 mill and he would have taken the job..but Hobbs hired AshAll good stuff here. Please release the name of the $3-4 million/year coach who is going to bring top players into this program. I believe the problems here may be deeper, such as do we really belong? $$$$
I was thinking about this for a long time. If mods don't like this then they can delete it. Its been hitting my conscience for a while and I'm not sure what side I am on. I just know what to do. The only way to get this situation changed is to go on social media and start a slander campaign against Barchi. Show the world truly how deranged and stupid he is. Make sure you hit the correct markets and let it propigate. Hit it Kavanaugh hard (not saying he's guilty or innocent, but they have been crushing him on social media). Once Barchi's name is garbage everywhere, not just in the sports world but in NJ where we can show how horribly he is letting money go down the drain, then let the ball be on his court and see how fast he tries to spin damage control. I think then he will stop with this foolish penny wise and pound foolish approach.Barchi is an idiot, there are people on this board who think he cares about athletics...well they are flat wrong and have been wrong....this is a guy that refused to even consider spending a penny on a basketball practice facility...even going as far to get into a back and forth argument with Lesniak in the paper. His views on athletics are embarassing
The way it was told to me is it wasn't about Hobbs. Schiano isn't coming unless Barchi is gone. Its more a Hobbs attitude towards Schiano.Barchi probably dosent know who SCHIANO EVEN IS
That's just an awful statement and untrue. No one wanted us to stay in the AAC. And to not want to be in the B1G no matter how bad things are right now in football is just plain ignorance.imo, it would have been better off to stay in the AAC...I firmly believe that a 8-4/9-3/10-2 program would be bringing in solid numbers and support. Its about winning and not the teams you play. RU would have alot of fans onboard if they were contending for the AAC every year even going 8-4...winning matters
Exactly. We would still be 1-5 in the AAC and only making 1 million in conf dollars. Ask the Yukon fans how much fun that is.That's just an awful statement and untrue. No one wanted us to stay in the AAC. And to not want to be in the B1G no matter how bad things are right now in football is just plain ignorance.
20 million? Where are you getting that number from?Gentlemen, there is no math that supports firing Ash after this season. Everyone who touts the "empty seats" angle is either overstating or just plain ignoring the numbers.

The person on the bike has a better chance of winning than RU does in any game remaining.Couldn’t agree more Boogie. Don’t enter the Indy 500 if all you have is a f******* bike and $5.

dumbest comments and beliefs are;
1. we don't belong in big
2. we should be playing in a lower league
[email protected]Can someone please provide the email address.
2019: 14,300Here are the season ticket sales for the last 4 years:
2015: 31,168
2016: 28,478
2017: 23,812
2018: 22,337
This story says that Lesniak sponsored legislation to provide $25 million in tax credits (presumably to the companies doing the construction), which wouldn't have directly given anything to Rutgers, but would subsidize the cost of construction. The story does not make clear whether the legislation passed. In any event, the project cost over $100 million. https://www.onthebanks.com/2017/10/...-rwjbarnabas-health-ray-lesniak-steve-pikiell
Thank you. My email goes out Sunday. I have no expectation of a reply but he should know what we all feel if we all contact him.
Pony up or shut up.
we absolutely belong, we just need an administration that wants to succeed in sports and realizes the ancillary benefits that brings. It's a no brainer, forget the current fb product and go beyond the fieldI don't think we belong in this league...our history is crap except for a few years. The administration and state has shown they do not care..so why should we be in the Big 10...seriously there is a reason most people laughed at our invitation across the country. They invited a school that generally has bad sports programs and admnistration that has never desired to compete in big time athletics
Sorry but after beind duped for 30 years I am not buying it..the evidence is overwhelming
Agree 100% Johnny - these A-hole patrol boys in the parking lot and over zealous door security got to go! Problem is I don't think anyone at Rutgers gives a dam.Deal.
I can barbecue in my backyard without some cop walking around trying to make a buck and watch on TV without some 19 year old pretending to be a cop sticking their fingers in my fanny pack to see what I carry around with me.
And I’m not emailing anyone. Those jackasses want my money they can call me and give me one good reason I should waste money on this shitshow.
Did Hobbs answer?I emailed Pat during the game asking him to please fire Ash and fix the program. $10 million to get rid of Ash sounds like a bargain. Get rid of him and bring in a coach who can make us winners again. 8-12 thousand fans at a B1G game is a joke.

If it is Schiano's choice, it is a clear sign his ego dwarfs his resume, and he should not be hired. Before all the Schiano "towel boys" pile on me, think about that if that is his demand. While it is true that football drives the athletics bus, as soon as it drives the University bus, I (and I surmise many other fans and donors), I am out.I agree with this.
However I have also heard that he won't come until Barchi is out of here. I do not know however if it is that is Schiano's choice or Barchi's choice.
You and Plum and other people continuing to pile on still seem to be posting quite a lot. People love to complain. This is not an attack, it is an observation. More people come out of the woodwork after a huge loss or a bad season than when RU is winning. People in NJ particularly love to watch and comment on a train wreck. Will the last person left on the board please turn out the lights.
Umm, no. Really bad idea. Sounds cult-like, like that team in the state to the West of us. Never want to emulate their scumbag status.I was thinking about this for a long time. That's a quitter and a loser mentality. You suggestion is worse than Sisyphean- it's quitting part of the way up the hill and letting the boulder run over and kill you. Buck up and stay for the ride. RU will eventually get there.I don't think we belong in this league...our history is crap except for a few years. Your post made me laugh so hard, I spit out my coffee.Pony up for what? A program that legitimately wouldn't even be .500 in FCS football yet is in one of the best conferences in the country?
I can't even begin to name the amounts of things I'd much rather "pony up" for than this program at this time. This isn't a fan/alumni support issue. It's also not an issue fan/alumni support can even fix other than making it seem like we're "loyal" when the stadium is kinda full for 1 half of football before we're being ran out of it by conference bottom dwellers and MAC teams.Unless we're ponying up for a Ash buyout.
Hobbs is getting fired and rightfully so. The only thing that can potentially save him is firing Ash sooner rather than later and hoping to God the next guy at least shows promise his first 2-3 years. If we continue down this path for another 2-3 years they both will be gone when we've combined for 3 wins over 4 years and have an average attendance of 7,000 people and average margin of defeat of 30.
Your post made me laugh so hard, I spit out my coffee.
Pony up. Organize and get a fund to buy out the head coach if you are so angry. Money talks, and ******** walks. We went through this exercise with Flood, and when it came down to brass tacks, nobody did anything. A bunch of noisy fiddles while Rutgers football burned.
Hobbs is not getting fired while Barchi and the current BOG are here.
Because they are working on Saturday afternoon and Sunday to answer random angry e-mails from disgruntled fans? Doubtful. No,
Not that I was expecting him to but you would think I'd get some type of generic response from one or his staff members.
