No one in LA cares about the Dodger, unless they are in the playoffs. Every city had the wagon fans but LA is fake and Laker country.

LA Rams
LA Chargers

Both in 1st-2nd place and they can’t give tickets away
BTW the Yankees have drawn over 3 million in all of the last 20 years but when they were bad in the 90s they didn't touch 2 million, the last time the Dodgers failed to draw 2 million was in 1972. They have a far more loyal fanbase than the Yankees.

Mets spent big on two guys who didn't play. $29 million on Cespedes and $20 on Wright. Without that their payroll is actually quite small.
Cespedes makes $29 million ?[jumpingsmile][jumpingsmile][jumpingsmile]

The Dodgers have drawn over 3 million fans in 18 out of the last 20 seasons. That's not a market that doesn't care.

Yankees' attendance was embarrassing during the Steve Sax-Roberto Kelly-Wayne Tolleson years. My friends and I sometimes went to Yankee Stadium spur-of-the-moment after work, knowing there would be plenty of excellent seats available. Those teams typically drew less than two million. Not much of a loyal fan base. The Mets have been even worse, having drawn three million just six times in their history.

The Angels also draw well in Southern California, having surpassed 3 million for 16 consecutive years despite seldom contending. Overall, Dodgers-Angels combined attendance always beat Yankees-Mets. This despite there being far more to do in Los Angeles than in New York. When it comes to being arts and entertainment-friendly, New York is as bad as a big city gets (and getting worse). Music venues continue to shut down with nothing replacing them. Good reason to spend a night in NYC? I can't think of any.

That's not a guy :)

Wait a minute!! I just watched Pearce's HR again. Are you trying to tell me that the bat boy is not a guy???? If that's a girl.........

I've been to a Bangkok a few times and I do realize that things can get confusing but that my friend can't be a girl.

Does anyone else, besides me, think that DB Machado stepped on
Steve Pearce's ankle on purpose?

President’s tweet is absolutely correct.
Analytics show if you can get through the third time in the batting order, they won’t get you the fourth time

Dodger fan here who thinks their done. Body language says it all, as their's has been terrible the entire series.By the way, Roberts taking out Hill was idiotic. He's "overmanaged" the entire series.

Let’s discuss taking out a pitcher who’s rolling.
1) You’re saving him for his next start
2) You’re protecting his arm
3) You’re protecting the clubs monetary investment
4) Analytics show a dominating performance doesn’t translate to the last two innings???
5) You believe in your bullpen (in the condition it’s in this particular day)
6) Manager can’t fathom watching his pitcher throw a complete game where he makes no moves and feels like he had nothing to do with the win
Which was it last night?

Shocked he didn’t pull him after 4 2/3 as is his usual MO. If he hasn’t learned after the past 2 WS he apparently never will.

Game just ended in 18 innings.
Anyone awake??
I gave up after the 12th.
You think they should have penalty kicks instead of extra innings in tie games?
God no, but they should start the games earlier.
In 1964,the Mets and the Giants played 23 innings-I watched all 23 of them finishing up a term paper for eighth grade-in just 3 more minutes than it took to play 18 last night. The commercials are the cause of the extra length.
But I also think the dance between the pitcher and the batter needs to be shortened. The pitcher will get the sign and stand there, then the batter calls timeout. The batter works his way back into the box, gets set, and the pitcher steps off the rubber. It gets infinitely worse if there's a man on first.
To bad only one pitcher on either team has thrown over 100 pitches in a game. If I were the Dodgers manager I’d of left the starter in. It was hot, and he exhibited no fatigue
I was shocked that Cora took Porcello out after only 4.2 innings and 61 pitchers.
By the way, Buehler is a Nolan Ryan clone velocity wise.
Maybe so, but we see more and more pitchers coming up with that type of velocity. Many of them break down, lose the velocity, TJ surgery, etc. It remains to be seen if he or any others have Ryan's longevity.

A dumb move by Roberts just like Cora pulling Porcello the night before. I have to believe it's a combination of #4 and #6. I just don't understand the mindset of managers these days when it comes to the situation where your pitcher is mowing through the other team. Why take him out if he's shown no signs of faltering?

well the Yankees are the #1 bandwagon team in all of sports, so that's understandable. Those bandwagoners helped the Mets outsell the Yanks when we were on that big run a couple years back.

The fact that Kershaw is still on the mound at this point says that the Dodgers have given up and they're just waiting for the game to be over.

Dodgers weren't even close. Men vs. boys. The GM must be kicking himself for trading for Machado. He didn't do anything for the team.

Southern California is a nicer place to watch a game than NYC in April or September that helps.

It has to be #6. Smoltz had a great line the other night when he stuck with Buehler saying that he was passing "the eye test" and that's why he was still in the game.
I realize that the lefty/ lefty and vice a versa match ups but how come all of a sudden a lefty pitcher can't get out a righty batter? Analytics are a crutch, not a tool.
Some interesting notes on the 18 inning game. 18 innings of a one run game in a NL park and there was a grand total of one sacrifice.
The game time for that game was 7 hours and 20 minutes. The 4 game sweep of the Reds by the Yankees in the 1939 Fall Classic totaled 7 hours and 5 minutes. That was the CUMULATIVE time for the four games.
I love baseball but it's just turned into HR Derby at the MLB level. People say the game has changed. That doesn't mean I have to like it.
