you mean tomorrow (Friday) night, don't you? Today is a travel day, as always happens between the 2nd and 3rd games. I think the starting time will again be 8 p.m., which means the game will start 5 p.m. local time in L.A., which means that the pitchers will be at an advantage through the early innings because it's hard to see the ball in twilight.
I think someone missed the joke. Maybe you and @Proud NJ Sports Fan should hang out together but the chances getting the right time may prevent that.[roll]

I wonder what the east coast sports bars did, especially Boston. Did they kick people out due to ABC laws. 7:20 plus is a long time to drink!

In 1964,the Mets and the Giants played 23 innings-I watched all 23 of them finishing up a term paper for eighth grade-in just 3 more minutes than it took to play 18 last night. The commercials are the cause of the extra length.

The commercials are the cause of the extra length.

Have the commercial breaks been extended in recent years? I have no idea, just asking. Did it used to be something like 2 or 3 minutes and now it's 5?

Otherwise, at least baseball only has fixed commercial breaks at the middle and end of each inning, unlike quasi-random TV timeouts, injury timeouts, change in possession, end of quarters, etc. for commercials in football or basketball.

To bad only one pitcher on either team has thrown over 100 pitches in a game.
If I were the Dodgers manager I’d of left the starter in.
It was hot, and he exhibited no fatigue

Zappaa,
Does mlb have a history department or something of that nature? I believe a very well-known member of those 1950s dodger teams lived in my N.J. town and I would like to get his former residence marked historical recognition. But I can’t get anyone to confirm where he actually lived except the street. The Dodgers historian was no help.

Just a suggestion to you. Why not inquire at the New Jersey's town library or county library and see if they have microfilm of the telephone books of the era. With a last name, town and street, finding the exact address should be relatively easy. If they don't have microfilm, ask if any library in the state does. Also check with town hall for alternate records they may have on record. Good luck.

Thankfully the Boston pitcher pitched fast. Imagine how long that game would have taken had a slow guy been out there.

Baseball needs to fix the game lengths. It’s a turn off.

They played two games last night.
The first nine went fast by today’s standards.
Our games averaged two and a half hours.

Eighteen inning classic with some great pitching, boneheaded base running, and great defensive plays. The game had a little bit of everything. Go Dodgers!

Guessing Rodriguez as well. Buehler had 1 more inning in him (the one game I could have used Jansen to step up for my fantasy postseason squad and he blows it). :chairshot:

Saw the whole game. But I'm a night owl. Good game. I think my red sox go with Rodriguez or sale tonight.

Loved seeing Price come back last night.

For any of you who actually played baseball or pitched, you guys know what your arm feels like after throwing 80 pitches over 90 miles an hour (for you guys it was probably 75)
But it’s relative, you can’t brush your hair or brush your teeth the next day

Stayed up to mid 17th inning. Kinsler error sort of reminded me of 86 Red Sox game 6 vs Mets pertaining to the freakish nature of the play

Nothing classic about it. Just a long boring game.
What? That was a great pitched game on both sides, amazing game pitched by a Rookie in what really was a do or die situation, lots of intrigue on who will pitch today's games. It's crazy how much better the game within the game it is with no DH,real baseball. Very surprised you thought it wasn't a game to remember.

If Boston goes onto win it will be forgotten. Buehler pitched awesome. The rest took advantage of players swinging for the fences everytime up.
