But Whitebus belittled them by saying they bought themselves a World Series this season, but would defend the Yankees to the hilt if someone said that about the Yankees, I don't get the blindness to it.
No that is not what I said. I said they weren't the the "little guys" because they bought their way to championship.

Nah, I know I a lot of people who call them the dy-ers.

And Boston is still the little guy. The can't stop talking about the Yankees even when they aren't playing. That's little dude stuff.
Sort of like Yankee fans always bringing up how bad the Mets are when they FAIL to accomplish what many picked them to do this season, getting past being up 3-2 last season in the ALCS. As if putting down the Mets will soften the blow over the winter. Now calling Boston little guys because for once, they spent more money than the Yankees and are "buying" a World Series.

The stupidity is you calling them the "little guys" as they are the highest spending team this year and have been top five in salary for all of the 2000s. They have won 3 World Series. They have never been a little guy.
And your stinking Mets spent more than the Yankees and your season was over before Fathers Day. So the pot kettle thing also applies to all your posts too. Mets spent but just suck.

Lol, I didn't call them little guys, Calikight did, I just used his quote to show how hypocritical Yankee fans can be. Your reading comprehension can't possibly be that bad, lmao. "Caliknight
Bawston with the Yankees Suck chant.
Boston has little guy syndrome. If they were a person, they'd be 5'7".

Yes, it does, but mostly because certain Yankee fans were degrading the Mets in 2015 and 2016, when the Mets were descent by Mets standards, lol.:joy:

2002 through 2013 the Yankees had the highest payroll in baseball. In 2005 they were over 200 and only 2 other teams were over 100.
And in essentially that timeframe they were 4-2 in World Series. They had the financial means to pay the guys from the wins in the late 90’s plus added some free agents that probably were not necessary. Sports are always better when there is a team to love/hate. The Red Sox are losing their charm as the lovable loser with the run they are on. Just like the Pats, the hate will come out. Boston and LA are 2 of the highest salary teams. No wonder they are having sustained success.

Money can’t buy you love.

I would say it’s just as important on HOW you spend your money with how MUCH you spend.

A great lesson for us in the not so distant future.

Certainly much more than the Mets owners!!
Met ownership thinks we are alll stupid.

If they would come out and say they aren't spending on FA talent but want to develop the farm system, then either accept the strategy or stop following. Instead there is no strategy and a lot of finger pointing, while the Wilpons try to recoup what they lost from Madoff.

Pitching wins championships. Some on this board just don’t get that.
Exactly. Yet some people keep harping that after coming within one game of the WS that the addition of Stanton (and no new starting pitching) should have made them favorites for the WS from day 1. But in reality they never were. So there was no Epic Fail. Right @ruready4somefootball ??

Sox fan too with the MLB package and Betts has already played 2nd base this year. I’m not a big fan of putting Betts at 2nd base but JBJ in center is really important and JDs bat is critical and Beni should definitely start against the RH Buehler. It’s definitely a tough decision for Cora but he seems to be making all the right decisions. Will be interesting to see what he does in game 3
Agree with all you said, but there's a difference between Betts playing a few innings at 2nd in some
meaningless mop up time in the regular season and a World Series game. Betts was moved to the outfield
when he came to the bigs because there was an all-star 2nd baseman in front of him. ( Pedroia) Cora has
been unconscious with his decision making this year. We will see...

The most popular team in LA by a million miles is the Lakers. Dodgers aren't even close.

The Lakers WERE the most popular team... and still the Dodgers draw 3million+ / year

Don’t forget Magic is part owner of the Azul. And Magic knows how to win and how to market

No one in LA cares about the Dodger, unless they are in the playoffs. Every city had the wagon fans but LA is fake and Laker country.

LA Rams
LA Chargers

Both in 1st-2nd place and they can’t give tickets away

I never saw the urgency of returning the NFL to LA. Similar to Miami building a new stadium (ironically of the site of the former, always empty Orange Bowl) In those markets people don't care

Ah, wrong Whitebus. Call it an EPIC FAIL on the field and in the front office also. Wasn't the next "natural" progression to make it to the World Series after blowing it to Houston the year before? You tried to "buy" a World Series this year adding Stanton, but Boston spent smarter I guess. I wouldn't know much about spending to improve a team as a Mets fan, we don't get much experience with that. Oh, while we're on the subject of "buying" a World Series as you have so passionately described what Boston did this year, and tried to cheapen the season they've had because of it, have the Yankees,in your opinion EVER bought a World Series? I think I know the answer, but would love to hear your take.

Not sure how that confirms the players address and helps me get in touch with him or his family.
You asked if MLB had a history department or something of that nature...that’s what the media would use...didn’t realize you wanted an actual address...

long shot but might give you a lead is to reach out to Mets PR guy Jay Horwitz...he is a Clifton, NJ native, very friendly and approachable and now runs Mets alumni department....

For the millionth time the Yankees didnt buy Stanton. It was a trade.
And no it wasn't an epic fail. There is no natural progression as teams are different from year to year. And Yankees were never the favorite. They were behind the Astros and Red Sox
And I let you answer your own question. Did the Yankees ever buy a World Series?

You traded for him, does that mean you didn't pickup his enormous salary?Wow, you just can't admit it, of course the Yankees have bought Championships, and you are well aware of it.They were so far a head of the curve with cable and the Yes Network and bought several before other teams caught up.That's why you crying about Boston out spending the Yankees by 70 Million and buying this years World Series is a friggin riot.

Curious where you got your numbers, especially Boston spending 70 million more than the Yankees and the Mets spending more than the Yankees. These numbers don't come close to backing up what leaks out of your mouth, just saying.https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/ Mets 12th highest payroll, finished with the 19th best record, clearly a Fail, but hardly of EPIC proportions.

The Red Sox did not invite Curt Schilling to their celebration for the 2004 team that broke the curse. The owners recently bought the Boston Globe.Draw your own conclusion.

Crying?? I was mocking RedSox fans and the owner who called the Yankees the Evil Empire and the worst crybaby fanbase who would always bring up the spending issue, the NY Mets fans, 24/7 365. Also disputing the dumb *** notion the Red Sox are or were ever the little guys.
The Red Sox learned from the Yankees that all that matters is winning championships and to get there you have to spend to get the best. Good for them for joining the Evil Empire.

The original "little guy" reference by Caliknight has been misinterpreted. Boston is not the little guy, like KC or other small market teams. Sox have all the resources and always have. Red Sox fans may have little man/little brother syndrome b/c Yankees have been so dominant, then add in the Curse nonsense. But the Yankees Suck chant is part of good rivalries.

Dodgers drew 3.8 million fans and averaged 47,000 a game.., try again

That's a very impressive figure. Keep in mind, though, that, like virtually all attendance numbers. it represents tickets sold, not bodies in the seats. At least some years ago, I had friends who would buy grandstand tickets and then sit in unoccupied seats about ten rows above the home plate screen. They said they were never bothered. Still, I agree that the Dodgers are certainly popular in L.A.

Hey, what time is game 3 of the WS on tonight?
I can't find it anywhere. TIA

you mean tomorrow (Friday) night, don't you? Today is a travel day, as always happens between the 2nd and 3rd games. I think the starting time will again be 8 p.m., which means the game will start 5 p.m. local time in L.A., which means that the pitchers will be at an advantage through the early innings because it's hard to see the ball in twilight.
