In a league like the NFL for example, there are still a bunch of competing entities such there is still a clear relationship of better play :=> more money even if it is not direct.
Personally, I like traditional golf and this LIV stuff seems clownish to me. Shortened tournaments, small fields, shotgun starts, etc make it seem like a bunch of guys that want to get paid while playing a weekend scramble down at the club. That's fine, and I might even watch if it gets to a point where it's populated with a lot of the best players, but it's not particularly my thing.
Also, calling it a great leaderboard seems like a huge stretch. Sure, you've got Smith. And Johnson, though he is currently only #22 in the world. Beyond that, the top reads like a B-tier PGA Tour event and the bottom is mainly people I've never heard of. This could improve if they get more players though.
