Takes a bit of the pressure off for tomorrow for sure with the Marlins winning....have to give Miami credit as they haven't folded and are playing to win...hopefully they win a few more this weekend.......tough game tomorrow for sure with Matz vs Tanaka......key for Matz is how he pitches at beginning of game as he seems to get off to a sluggish start in the first inning.....

Another tough one for the Nats tomorrow with Fernandez going for Miami. He shut them out just last week. That Marlins team could be dangerous next season. Some good young talent and Stanton is not even playing. But right now let's get our Mets back on track.

So looking forward to relevant baseball in NYC this weekend. I'm a diehard Yankees fan but would love to see both teams in the World Series again. A 2-1 Yankees weekend would help both sides. Yankees need more wins than the Mets but it should be a ton of fun.

I'm in full agreement on the first two sentences from a Mets fan perspective. The Mets need to close this thing out already. You guys have two different chances to make the playoffs, obviously winning the division would be your best route.

I am all for relevant baseball in NY as long as the yankees are not involved.

What a limp dick crowd at citi field, must have sold a ton of tickets to skankie fans. Glad I did not splurge on tix for this series.

Sadly, with 15 teams in each league, interleague play is guaranteed all season long.

The heck with two out three. I want the sweep! Win the division early (maybe beat out Dodgers too) and let the Yankees fend for themselves in the AL.

Matz is a future star if he stays healthy.

I seriously doubt that you will ever encounter a person, to whom the term ahole would be more appropriate than Kbee. For some people, it's just a natural state of being.
Think about this for a second. It's not even like he finds some generic baseball board to talk all this ****, or stumbled on a Mets board. While that's still sad, I get it. But he does this here with people he otherwise shares a common interest with, and willfully chooses to be a massive prick to them (not to mention, completely chicken **** for how he disappears during the Mets streaks).

Really sad.

While Ed kranepool is clearly a met legend in his own way. I wouldn't mind skipping him in the count down.

Uh, I go to the Rutgers football board and I see a thread titled "Let's Go Mets". So I participate in the thread. I'm a lifelong Yankees fan. I don't like Mets...or their fans ( at least a good percentage of them). I've exchanged barbs, snide comments, and insults with them almost since the first year the Metsies graced major league baseball with their buffoonish presence. And I've done the same thing here. However, I've never seen as big a bunch of whiners and crybabies as I've encountered in this thread. I even had one jerk talk about punching me in the face if he ever met me. THAT'S what's sad. Mets fans are so insecure rooting for the Yanks' little brother that they enjoy the chit out of jabs at A-Rod, Jeter, and every other Yankee. And that's fine. But only here have I run into such a large number of Mets fans that are so outraged at jabs at THEIR Metsies. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. If you want me to shut up about the Mets, then shut up about the Yankees.
Frankly, I've grown tired of the back-and-forth with some of the losers here. I predicted the Mets would take advantage of an amazingly weak schedule and pull away from the Nationals. And I've never had any illusions about the weaknesses of the Yanks....particularly vs. Toronto. We'll see what happens in the playoffs. And I will be back to congratulate the Mets when they win the World Series. Just like I congratulated them in 1986 and 1969. How many of you loser Mets fans have ever congratulated the Yanks when they won it all ?
Yeah....that's what I thought.

I didn't see the first inning home run but the one by McCann was simply symptomatic of falling behind 3-1 to a fastball hitter. Cespedes in his 1st slump as a Met. Better now then next month I guess.

Looking like the early season Mets these last few games with the exception of some home runs last night.

As Yo has cooled, so has the team. Every team struggles at different points, but let's see how they're playing when the playoffs start.

That's twice getting shut out in the last 3 games now, with a whole lot of bad at bats in the process. Seven k's in a row??? And I've never seen so many guys fall into an 0-2 hole.

If they can even limp in to them. I'm hoping the Nats at least lose today. My fear is that the Mets have peaked too early.

They can't get to the Eddie Kranepool magic number...Uribe going down not good...and again our buffoon manager plays Tejada and Lagares with his pathetic lefty - righty matchups......play your best guys and forget these idiotic platoons especially with these guys who should be on the bench.....bad play by Wright on bunt....you have to catch that.....

And I also don't like the karma of this club right now and ironically all went downhill when Cespedes got hit and Degrom did not retaliate....Coincidence or Not is anyone's guess.....Mets better not waste any more games vs Braves and at Reds and at Phillies prior to Nats last weekend series....

Thank you Scott Boras.
And Eric O'Flaherty? Really Collins? And you were going to pinch hit Campbell instead of Flores? You replace Uribe with Murphy against a left-hander instead of Flores? What the hell is wrong with you? It's like he's trying to lose the game.

He definitely was trying to concede the game here tonight. The sad part is I think this season is the Mets' only good chance to make noise. I think Marlins have some good young talent and will be a force and the Nats will right the ship.
