I had a 5.0L REAL mustang back in the day. My favorite car of all time. Kids came and it wasn't practical. IDK why Ford chose to use the mustang brand as their EV. But, I really like it.I guess as a Mustang guy, SVO…I just don’t see it.

People in Germany apoplectic over BMW threatening to cripple their cars speed is they dont start using battery more. This is what the heavy handers want AI for.
- BMW proposes punishing PHEV owners who don’t regularly charge their vehicles.
- Possible measures include reducing engine power if batteries aren’t routinely charged.
- The plan aims to boost BMW’s carbon credits, raising privacy and customer control concerns.

Tesla Robotaxi Austin Safety Record: What NHTSA Data Shows
Nearly a year into Tesla's Robotaxi service in Austin, the federal safety record is in — and it's more nuanced than either critics or boosters typically acknowledge. NHTSA crash data covering July 2025 through March 2026 shows 17 total reported incidents, zero major crashes, and only 6 minor...www.basenor.com

Family sues Tesla after woman killed by vehicle allegedly in self-driving mode
The family of a woman who was killed when a Tesla crashed into her home while allegedly in self-driving mode is suing the automaker and the driver for damages.abcnews.com
1. Is robotaxi using different software?1. Not a robotaxi and
2. I wonder if you read the link you posted.
“Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla's head of AI, responded to Musk's post on X, claiming the self-driving mode was manually overridden.
"Yup. In this case, the driver manually overrode self-driving by pressing the accelerator all the way to 100% of the accel pedal in this residential area. They reached a speed of 73 mph during the crash, and had the accelerator pressed even after the crash," he posted.”
1. Yes. Depending on the year, which hasn’t been reported, different hardware too.1. Is robotaxi using different software?
2. Not surprised they denied it. Have they ever come out and said it was their fault?
Man I miss the conversations here about how Lidar was necessary for safety and Tesla was insane for not using it
They do, but they’re also geofenced. And yes, plenty of data showing they’re safer than humans. It’s pretty obvious all forms of self driving will end up being safer, regardless of the system used.Does Waymo still use Lidar? Didn’t they just get cited for being safer than drivers?
Isn’t all FSD geofenced? I think Waymo is the only one that truly operates full driverless. They do, but they’re also geofenced. And yes, plenty of data showing they’re safer than humans. It’s pretty obvious all forms of self driving will end up being safer, regardless of the system used.
Poor labeling here which Tesla has been criticized for. Tesla’s FSD is supervised but not geo fenced. All of the driverless options (Waymo, Tesla, zook) are all level 4- driverless and geo fenced. No one has achieved level 5, which would remove fencing.Isn’t all FSD geofenced? I think Waymo is the only one that truly operates full driverless.
Talked to a guy I know a couple of months ago who has a Model 3 and lives in NJ. He told me he's >90% self driving, which kind of shocked me. In fact, he says he rarely has to take the wheel and he's not the type to exaggerate so I tend to believe him. I figured with NJ traffic and congestion that would be pretty much impossible. Guess not.Poor labeling here which Tesla has been criticized for. Tesla’s FSD is supervised but not geo fenced. I’m at about 90% self driving now. You can see it being safer relative to following distance, lane changes, etc. There’s times I have to fight the urge to make a move to save me an unnecessary 3 seconds. It’s becoming less of an issue with experience and age.
I actually think in traffic/congestion is where it’s at its best. I use it in California freeway traffic mostly with no issueTalked to a guy I know a couple of months ago who has a Model 3 and lives in NJ. That’s how Rivian’s system works- only on roads with painted lines and it is essentially a lane guide. It won’t slow down/speed up, make turns, etc.I'm on the waiting list for a Rivian R2. Tentative order date of Nov 2026 - Feb 2027. I didn't think I was interested in autonomous driving, but might be rethinking it. I thought it needed to be on a road with lines -- not necessarily a highway, but even if it had a line down the middle. Is that true? I really don't do much highway driving.
Happy Cybercab Launch Day to all who celebrate.
Incorrect. Model Y rides and prototype testing has been happening for a while. The no steering wheel, pedal free Cybercab just launched yesterday.Didn’t they already launch? Is this a redo or 2.0?
Quick Google search says Oct 2024 (we, robot)Incorrect. Model Y rides and prototype testing has been happening for a while. The no steering wheel, pedal free Cybercab just launched yesterday.
You searched too quickly. The we robot event was when the prototype of the cybercab was introduced. We then spent two years of testing, production, regulatory approvals, this thread and others saying they’ll never get approved to launch a driverless, steering wheel-less, Lidar-less vehicle, etc. to get to yesterday’s launch.Quick Google search says Oct 2024 (we, robot)
49 cybercabs registered and operating in a geofenced area. NHTSA also investigating. Maybe 3.0 launch event will be better. You searched too quickly. Such excitement for something that has already been done. Funny thing is that Tesla fanboys used to say that Waymo is limited because of geofence. You’re catching up quickly. All level 4 vehicles operate in a geofenced area. You continually sound like a Blackberry fan talking about the iPhone

I used to say Waymo was limited because of geofencing when compared to Tesla’s fsd. Two completely different products. Your minimal understanding of these things doesn’t help these conversations

Tesla fsd is not geofenced. I use it wherever I want. Tesla robotaxis are geofenced. You’re so close to getting it. Valuation talk is for the stock and investment thread.
