Many on here have said they think a redshirt is what Dee needs. Help him develop, blah, blah, blah. But there are those of who think that would be the absolute WORST thing for him.
This has nothing to do with DT, who will let the roster battle happen. And maybe Dee does shirt if he loses to Facundo. But there is nothing going on in that room where Dee is getting any type of favorable treament.

That's not how I remember it. I remember Dee wrestling hard at NCAAs and Alex wrestling scared
Dee managed like he had the previous two months and got heartbroken. Facundo tightened up.
Love those guys and they are good teammates, but that performance puts them under scrutiny.

Yeah he followed Perry. Allegedly he had some personal issues going on at the time that affected his performance along with the weight cut.
As for Perry not being officially on staff @vhsalum mentioned it earlier but he’s technically the RTC coach since he’s not officially on staff he basically has no rules to follow. He’s more useful to ISU in that role
...implied or real criticism of Cowboys should be left to others...any who do should explain to ALL of us what sport THEY could replace someone in competitions...all of us have been where we could and should have done better at something...and a hand of considerations was passed to assistance by others....best to all

I think Alex could beat him in the room. Maybe not? But anyone who knows understands ranking matches arent the deciding factor its only part of it. Look at Merrill. I also think Alex could beat Ruiz who beat Dee and is coming in highly ranked next year. Can Dee jump levels? Man I sure hope so. He has more natural talent than anyone in the room most likely. But talent is everywhere. People who maximize it are rare indeed.

And I never said he was getting favorable treatment, I literally asked why would he get any and that he shouldnt get any. Best guy goes and itll play itself out.

They both went 2-2. Dee wrestled harder individuals also.
If we want to compare losses, I'm more confident that Dee would beat Colin Kelly than I am that Alex would beat Nicco Ruiz

I was a little surprised with AF's post-tourney interviews. Said things like how he had trouble bringing himself to just go for it. Seems like a mental challenge for him too. I know these tourneys are an absolute grind so it's interesting that some guys can lock in while others can't.

I agree people who maximize talent are rare. That's what makes you saying Facundo is better than Dee so strange. They have the same number of NCAA wins in 5 years for Facundo and 1 year for Dee. If you were saying Dee was going to lose to or be replaced by some guy who maximizes talent, then I'd shrug and move on.
Facundo lost to 7th place and a blood-rounder. Dee lost to 3rd and 5th place while beating Araujo.
They were both so spectacularly underwhelming, it really isn't worth debating who edged out the other.

1st: not sure how friendly the Perry’s are to OSU at this current juncture. They feel slighted and may be a tad jaded. Either way, family will family, it’ll be fine, just hopefully quicker than later. Let’s get off namecalling Chris. Mark II, he’s a little different story. I do like him though…
2nd: Facundo had an audition to show what he could do when it mattered. In reality, you get two runs at the Big Show and it’s kinda what you are? @Wrestleknownothing might have a graph for this? IMO, is it smart to trust him in March? I’m not David, and those guys know where a guys head is when it’s time to make a call…I don’t. Not many here do.
3rd: Dee is young and very accustomed to just destroying people. He had a great trueF year and had a bad last 4 matches preceded with many more moments that told him to turn it loose. He didn’t, it cost him. He’s got one more run in March before we really know what he is, in March. I bet he turns it on this year, but I have no serious knowledge that points to that.
4th: Let’s get off the boring time of the year fighting? There’s plenty to fight about. 5/5, Tarleton State and seniors.

Facundo was stuck behind some studs at psu but I get what youre saying. Now if were comparing natural talent levels I doubt theres anyone on this board that would disagree if I say Dee has the most talent on the team. So if one has a lot more talent then the other and their results are the same at the end of the year...?

Can't believe this is even any debate. He's freakishly instinctive and natural in every movement on the mat.
There should be consequences for anyone repeatedly insulting our posters and alumni. That stuff should not fly here. Heck, temp ban me if I'm out of line. We're here for OSU wrestling, not for character judgments.
Re: wrestling I'm very much looking forward to Dee's next competitive season whether it's next season or the season after. It'll be interesting to see how he responds! He certainly has a lot of people rooting for him and hopefully that switch flips.
