Surprising, seeing as how good this years draft is going to be, while next years looks pretty weak. Not only could he play himself into a sure fire 1st round pick or even lottery.. but that could also jump up a good 10 spots because of the draft classes.
Boozer brother leaves, they have a 5-star PG coming in on his heels, and yet Cayden stays at Duke. Moreno is probably more talented than anyone on this roster, hes gonna put up stats, and hes still looking to bolt. Not even a 1st rounder in CBS' mock draft post lottery. Sad state of affairs.

You're right and they are also. They are the only ones that get their panties all in a wad when something is said.
I have no clue about if Moreno does or doesn't want to play for Pope. I just said it. It's true I said it with no facts behind it.
It's also true that a lot of players don't want to play for Pope. Maybe Moreno does.
But most people do what you did. The just say their opinion without having to act like somebody is being ridiculous. It's totally normal to just disagree. This Paul guy hates Andy. It's not even about me.

If the guy didn't want to play for Pope he could have jumped in the portal and made more than he will here or the NBA.
The position is a thin limb to plant a flag on. There are plenty of guys that don't want any part of Pope but it seems a stretch to think it is driving Moreno.
Entering the draft but not the portal just doesn't make a lot of sense if the issue is getting clear of Pope.
This may be trying a little too hard to hammer the point home.
Conspiracy theory here, Show everyone that he comes back to UK for less money to play for Pope rather than be drafted mid to late 1st round, makes Pope look better to recruits, or maybe that's his thinking? It sounds crazy but who knows, i know Pope is weird & no one wants to play for him lol. It's my understanding that Pope & Moreno are close so I'm sure Pope already knows what's going to happen, he didn't seem too worried in his BBN video the other day. I guess we'll find out in 2 weeks.
I didnt read the whole thread just catching up. I could be wrong, but i thought Moreno came back for less than what we could have gotten if he entered the portal. Not sure about the others. I do like some of the guys we got. We just need a dude.

Do you think he is staying in the draft? That answer tells you a lot if you are just being pessimistic about Moreno or not
His upside came from showing his ability to shoot. Pope did nothing to develop Moreno. We are going to lose him because someone else figured out he was better than just being a grounded 7 footer under the rim. LOL
Also just because he did that doesn't mean it had to do with him liking Pope. Maybe Moreno knew he was getting drafted regardless. Got to consider hes a Kentucky kid. Maybe playing for UK was actually a dream of his. Maybe being close to home for a little less was sounded better than traveling away for a little more money. Maybe he likes what UK offers as far as the fans and spotlight. Maybe he's just a good ol fashion Kentucky boy .
Doesn't necessarily mean he likes playing for Pope. Also since when did we know how much money people are making? We don't. Just like I don't know anybody's bank account.

I agree with you, but would caution that "next year's draft is weak" has been a meme since the draft existed. Sometimes it is weaker, sometimes things happen and suddenly that draft is strong. Malachi's agent and family likely saw all the big men staying in college and the resulting void in big men. If he has a guarantee (no clue if he does or doesn't), can't blame him for taking a "sure thing".
There's also the factor of next year's team is likely going to suck (despite mental gymnastics of a few of our friends here), so it may make him look worse. All stuff that plays into his thought process.

Are they really? Find it odd that a McDAA would be "close" to a career mid major ceiling coach. If that is indeed the case, more power to him, but if I were him I would be disappointed at the horrible situation the staff has put him in, 2 years now, whiffing on every elite player that could have made him look better.
