Florida has three guys coming back who were clearly a lot better than Moreno. I'm not sure what we are supposed to do when things like this happen.
Another stupid take. If it was just about Pope he could have easily transferred to another school.
I said two weeks ago this was going to happen and everyone thought I was out of my mind, he’s gone, 100%, best draft ever for him given how few players declared.
Yes I said Moreno didn't want to play for Pope but this isn't Popes fault. Moreno was one of the best centers coming out of highschool last year. He's talented and huge. If he goes pro he just goes pro.
I want that kind of problem here. I want Pope to get players that have the potential to go pro.
Very possible because believe it or not just because a lot of the fanbase can't stand Cal(for good reasons)...going to UK and being a one and done was the hottest thing for most of Morenos life. Any player his age. That's all they know.
You may well be right but I don't see his NBA career going any better than Dakari Johnson's if he does.

I can say Moreno doesn't want to play for Pope. I have no clue if it's true. But I can say it man. We don't have to go back and forth on some things.
I believe it will be somewhat better though he won’t be a major impact player.
That is the whole fail and bail philosophy that did Cal in to a huge extent. Succeed and proceed was one thing but when we are losing guys that are not nearly as good as guys other teams get back that is not a recipe for success.

Pope has failed the assignment regardless of Moreno's decision.

Obviously he doesn’t think he’s going to “be in the G League”. Especially since the chatter is that he’s going 1st round or early 2nd round with a guaranteed rookie contract.
But maybe he doesn’t know Moses from Rupp Rafters thinks he’s a “damn fool” lol. Perhaps then he’d reconsider his decision. Maybe along with his agent and family to say “I think Moses is right- it’s absolutely foolish of me to not come back to Kentucky”

Good for Moreno. Think about it this way, who thought he would start, much less contribute last year and then be positioned to scoot to the NBA? Maybe it has something to do with how Pope is able to develop big men? Hat's off to Moreno if he can get to that level!
Moreno literally signed a deal to take less money to come back to UK if he doesn't go pro. What you say, makes no sense at all.

What is somewhat mind-blowing to me is how ineffective Johni Broome has been, despite his injury. It is harder to be an effective big man in the NBA than I realized, it seems.
How Moreno will do is uncertain, but he'll might get paid big $$$ to find out, it seems.

I remember hearing that a lot during Calipari’s time at UK. And what I said then was they’re good enough to get drafted. I’d say the same thing about Moreno now. NBA teams largely draft on potential – and for good reason. So, some of the best basketball talent/upside evaluators in basketball think Moreno has a lot of talent and upside – which is true even if he were selected in the 2nd round.
I take it you wouldn’t be too excited about Moreno returning to UK (maybe you’d say you’re not excited about anything related to UKBB until Pope is gone or something like that), but I’m hoping like he** Moreno returns. So, I'm also hoping like he** that you're' right.
Wasn't it said Moreno agreed to come back to UK for a discount? I dont think his flirtation with the NBA has anything to do with Pope. His real dream is the NBA
