Yeah it’s not been a good showing tonight. Missed 4 bunnies in a row and letting short guys score over him.

I know it's the first game setting but to me he doesn't look any different than he did last year. I also know next game he could score 15 points and grab 10 rebounds. When you are EJ's size you can't keep missing close in shots. He clearly is more comfortable outside than in. I think that has to change if he wants to play at the next level. Maybe next game he proves us all wrong.

Stupid thread. And he just scored a nice half hook.
Would it be basketball season without these asinine threads ? No . LOL . But it makes so much sense to throw a player under the bus after 1 preseason game. Remember when people were clamoring that EJ had to play over Nick last season ? People are prisoners of the moment especially sportsfan.

JFC...its an exhibit against Georgetown. If there's one thing I know, its that none of this crap will matter come February and March.

He does. He’s had time to work through some things. I don’t know if he can work through the passive attitude I see.

I know people can improve and he certainly can but as it goes longer and longer i start to get into the mindset of this is what it is.

Which is fine. I mean we don't need EJ to be this crazy good offensive player for us. He like Nick can rebound, play good defense. Just do something that's going to contribute.

We really need him to make a huge leap for this team to reach it's goals.I love our guards but have to get something going inside.

Giving criticism on someone's play is not throwing them under the bus. Take your blue tinted glasses off and see everything isn't always rainbows and sunshine and there can be legitimate concerns.

When the guy comes back from the off-season looking like the same player it is a concern. When we have no depth at the 5 and he is our only option, it is a concern. Maybe he'll improve or maybe he looks exactly the same all year.

Richards hasn't progressed very well in his time here yet. Some players just don't pan out and with a short bench it is a concern. Most don't ever think they can just be a backup for a few years here or they are a failure. Let's hope he gets things going this year because we really need him.

EJ is not a star, but a very good player that we will have to have play big to make a F4..Unless Nick is much improved..

Actually Richards looked pretty good till he went down. That was a shame. EJ needs a bit of time to adjust to his role. He had the jitters bad. He was getting the ball in traffic and not used to it.

That said our guards were the weak spot. A point guard must get the ball into the hands of the bigs in a position where they can do something with it. Also when they go to the rim, they have to have plan B and C in mind. Ours just drove and prayed. Didn’t see the floor worth a damn. Spacing sucked. Passing sucked.

As is typical the time of year, we have no team skills. You guys fretting over individuals are laughable. Worry about our team.

It isn’t always easy for bigs to play in these exhibition games against smaller teams. It isn’t like we alter strategy and just feed the post relentlessly.

I don’t know how good a season EJ will have. I’m not tremendously high on him. But I expect him to be a contributor. Certainly not a liability.

I’m actually a heck of a lot more interested in how he plays defense and rebounds. 2 pts a game is fine with me if the other team is afraid to pass the ball to his guy.

EJ jacking up threes and floating around the perimeter is not what we need from him.

We need him to play defense and ignore ungrateful and ignorant fans.

I’ll admit I’m not nuts about threes either. Got Nailed At The Foul Line cries though if they don’t shoot 15 or 20 threes each a game.
