Did you ever stop to think that it was Rhule that said thanks but no thanks.
McCord is a 1 and done
Rhule has said he wants to build it from ground up with young talent
DR is going to sign just believe as he said my last name is on the stadium and it is.
It will happen
Chubba will stay HH will be hybrid and 3rd string QB.
Just relax it will be fine
NU is a golden opportunity for a blue chip QB. If McCord isn't interested in being on a team that is one puzzle piece from being very good, that is his choice. I don't want to get into the game of speculation because it's any number of factors.
I don't want to come close to counting chickens with Raiola. I'll dance a jig if he signs.

I'm not falling for this crystal ball ******** ever again. Whatever happens, so be it. Speculate all you want. From everything I have seen, DR is still commited to Georgia. I will believe it when I see him throwing the ball around at the spring game. Until then, like with the "Mccord is N" crap, I'm not believing a damn thing until names are on dotted lines.
You really believe DR is still committed to UGA.

Cue the drama queens.

McCord would be great but if I have to choose, DR first.

And it's not like they still can't bring in another QB

There’s no way to spin this as a good thing. At best, McCord was scared off, at worst….and what I likely suspect, is the staff just sucks and McCord could smell that. It’s tiresome and the stakeholders of the program deserve far better.
I can't imagine why you have so few likes.

Is it possible McCord asked for a firm answer on who his QB coach was going to be and either he didn’t like the reply on who is coming or perhaps MR unable to confirm anything specific?
Or maybe it’s possible that posters on here don’t know ****.

I agree. Confidently McCord thought he would be guaranteed the starting spot … which was obviously the case until DR popped his head in the door and threw the bones. McCord couldn’t get his guarantee so he bounced.

Still think DK should stick around and redshirt. He would likely get to compete and be a 2 year starter at least.
Definitely think Kaelin should stick around. I doubt Raiola would be here four years no matter what happens.

Cough - Trevor Lawrence - Cough
Good find. I’ll pencil in Dylan for 30 TDs and 4 INTs next year

Let’s circle back after the season and we can have all have a good laugh when Dylan puts up those type of numbers and you can say “I told you so”

A kid decides not to commit and @King
If the news ended up being true I was going to lay off and give Rhule a bit of respect, but people like this you have to watch like a hawk. They have a veneer of success but no real accomplishments.

I'm okay with it. I don't want anybody who thinks the job should be guaranteed to the
You guarantee the job to McCord, unless Raoila demands a competition for it. Then what you'll have is McCord walking. You let him walk because you would be crazy to chance a legacy, once in a generation QB for Nebraska staying with Georgia for a promise to a one year game manager.

Man if Daniel and McCord leave is Dylan worth that? Plus we would have the Adrian Martinez issue where for a year or 2 you can't get another qb in because they know they ain't playing. I honestly have no idea. I usually side with betting on the many not the few.

I hope you’re right. IMO recruiting isn’t about getting that “one guy”. It is about getting a high level recruit every single year so once every 3 or 4 recruiting cycles one of those recruits wind up being “the guy”. All the apples in one basket is very risky

Looks to me like they are recruiting at a pretty high level, but all of sudden they are bumbling idiots? Come on. Either the money changed to get Raiola or McCord wanted to be guaranteed the starting job and they couldn’t do it. Those are the most likely scenarios.
Or Raiola wouldn’t come if he wasn’t starting?

I know people LOVE to pretend they are all high and mighty about telling the truth...but I am okay with bending the truth to a kid (and every girl I meet).

I was never as crazy over McCord as most. His lack of athleticism and negative rushing stat concerned me. Raiola is at least a guy who can get you first downs with his feet when he has to.
I totally agree with this. I am actually more excited with just DR in the fold. I did not want to watch a McCord style offense.

I’d gladly roll into next year with Dylan, Chubba and HH.

Dylan is a sturdy cat at 225lbs. He isn’t some stick figure.

I’d take 3 - 4 losses next year to get him in groove with all the other youngsters for a run in year 3.

Dylan is an incoming freshman with much more upside than any transfer. If the coaching staff was faced with either choosing McCord or Raiola, I think they made the right choice.

It looks to me that McCord was told that nothing is guaranteed and he didn’t like that. According to OSU fans they (the McCords) wanted Ryan Day to assure them Kyle would be the starter. If true, it would make perfect sense that he would want his new team/coach to guarantee the spot as well. Nevertheless, good luck to him. Like you said, if it was a choice, Rhule made the right one. Just need DR to sign and ease Husker nation’s anxiety. And of course, keeping DK would be huge 😍

TBF everyone would take 3 or 4 losses with or without him....that's a 8-9 wins. And I have been assured that 8-9 wins will never happen again with the evil schedule of the next few years.

You think we are a 3-4 loss team next yr with Raiola and the returning QBs?

Matt will be devastated that internet douchebag won't give him respect
I knew this would be the response...but it's people like me, you, and others on this board that make it so Matt can get a massive salary, and a palace to play in, and hundreds of millions in facilities. It's not nothing.

If they seal the deal with Raiola, then I don't really care about missing on McCord. Just hope that they can keep Kaelin in the class too (seems unlikely though to me if Raiola comes). Was really hoping they'd have at least two new QB additions for 2024 and in a perfect world, 3 (as unlikely as that is). Just get Nebraska's offense back to being watchable and I won't complain.

Raiola and 3-4 years >>> McCord and one year.
Rhule has made it clear he wants to build this team for a sustainable future rather than any instant gratification. It all points to DR being his guy. Maybe DR wasn’t on the table a week ago and that’s why they went hard after McCord. Things changed quickly.

Hold the phone, hold the phone. This happened last year when we were talking about hiring Coach Rhule. According to reports, he was 100% coming to Nebraska. Then the bottom fell out and the deal fell through. He's not coming because Carolina somehow had him locked in contract. Then that was solved behind the scenes and he is now our coach. Strange things happen so don't count out McCord just yet...

The ONLY thing I can sort of see is that Matt knows DR is in and tried to wine and dine McCord, get him on campus, rub his dong a bit, hope that is enough...but of course, not promising him the staring job.

But that seems like a stretch. More than likely he came and just was not sold, it happens.
I’ll laugh if his dumbass goes to Syracuse

So let me get this straight.... "reports" were 100% that McCord was coming and we all believed it. Now, "reports" are that he's moving on... and we all believe it. And... no one actually knows a damn thing? Got it. Anyone exhausted yet? Take a deep breath and get ahold of yourself!

We know SOMEONE is coming or Kaelin wouldn't be "no commenting" and taking visits. I'm good with it, something cool is about to happen.
