This is not what happened.McCord wanted guarantees and Dylan wanted a chance to compete at least.. No way Rhule could accommodate both .if you are Rhule who do you take ? He chose Dylan I believe.
He's a true freshman. You can redshirt and still get 4 games in. If he can't wait one year to get his chance, he's not here for the program, he's here for himself.

You think its possible that he brought mccord all the way here to tell him we dont want him.

That would be a dirtbag move.
That isn’t what I said at all. I was pointing out the folly in that. McCord was already here when the news of DR broke, and to suggest that was why Rhule brought McCord in was to tell him to hit the bricks didn’t make sense at all.

Obviously I wasn’t clear in my sarcasm. Apologies.

Why because they recruited a HS recruit at their position and tried to bring on outside help to help create competition? Are these coaches suppose to sit here and just be ok with our QB room turning the ball over 26 times a year? So you're telling them they should tell the coaching staff to shove it, fir doing their job 😅
No, because the staff has essentially been on a public barnstorming tour doing what seems like everything they desperately can to prevent those two from playing ever again.

I never said it’s not a good thing. Just calling it what it is.

I may sound like an idiot but what if its a ploy by Mccord's agent to force Rhule to pay more $$$.

I mean its open knowledge now that Huskers offered Raiola $3 million. Maybe the agent wants big money for a 1 year Mccord rental.

I guess that would sense in that Rhule always prefers multi-year players over one and done.

Is all know is that off-seasons under Matt Rhule are wild.

Who knows about any of this but I'm sure either way he would want a legit chance to EARN a starting job. The #1 qb coming to a bowless program and being told you have zero chance to start would be kind of crazy.

Hopefully Raiola signs but it almost sounds like terrible luck on our part. OSU qb and #1 qb we're going to come at the same time but they can't co-exist because of demands.

McCord wanting an easy path to the NFL is comical. Because that’s how the real world works.😅. Good luck kid.

The consensus #1 QB recruit in the country coming to a program that's been in a dire ******** for over a decade?

We should consider ourselves lucky.
I'm not sure shelling over 3 million for a guy who might get hurt or be a bust is lucky...wait we did get a high rated guy called lucky and it wasen't 3 million

Maybe we shouldn’t overreact to McCord’s decision? He left when he wasn’t guaranteed a start in a bowl game. He sounds a little bit like a *****. DR comes into the scene and coach says he isn’t guaranteeing anything as far as starting, and McCord moves on. Or any couple other dozen of possibilities
Why leave Ohio St to go to NU and experience a similar situation with a rabib fan base clamoring for the 5 star backup QB after every incomplete pass?

When I think of a true freshman QB coming in and having success right away I think of an electric athlete that makes plays with his athleticism while he figures out how to actually play the position.rather than a pocket passer
Peyton Manning didn’t set the world on fire his freshman year despite having better surrounding talent
I remember a true freshman QB coming to Nebraska as a 5/4 star talent and winning two NCs by the time he was done.

I’ll take “Things lil bitches think” for $200 Alex.

The former 5 star senior doesn’t want to hear about the true freshman? Yeah, thanks for making my point.

McCord came here to VISIT. He might not wanted to commit whether Riola visited or not. He did not decommit or had promised anything.

I didn’t really understand any of your responses to me ITT
That’s because they didn’t make sense. Looking back, I thought you were saying something you weren’t. I forgot to take my KDS meds and kind of went off the rails. Sincere apologies to you, Kong. Truly, my bad.

Not really. A true freshman qb is almost never ready right away. You tell him to wait his turn behind the guy who went 11-1. If Raiola is making demands, he doesn’t give a **** about this program, he's in it for himself.

Just heard
My guess is that everything was on track until McCord wanted a guarantee that he would be the starter in 2024. That probably worked for everyone UNTIL Raiola came into the picture and he wanted a guarantee that he could compete for the starting position in 2024. So Rhule could no longer give McCord that guarantee and it felt like to McCord OSU deja vu so he chose to look elsewhere.
