What in holy hades happened?!
Lsu was running out the clock, and I jumped in the shower and now I find out we won?
Someone give me the cliff notes on what happened.
We stopped them. They chose not to go for it on 4th and 1. Minchey proceeded to methodically drive down the field for a FG to go to OT.

LSU scores and kicks. Kentucky scores and Stein throws up his "two" hand. The rest is history.

You forgot Stein parked his wheelbarrow then threw up his "two" hand. Important step missed but I got your back...

Kiffin punted on a 4th and 1. We got ball back. AZ redeemed himself. OT.
Defense then **** itself and let LSU score easily.
we then get ball TD. Big nuts goes for two.
we win.

As someone who hates the rest of the SEC and despises the whole SEC “pride” BS (they always suck each other off in football in the offseason, but when it comes to basketball, we never get any returned favor), I love how he pees off the rest of the SEC fans and admin.
I’ve said it on here before, it’s kinda why I don’t mind Beamer either. I like the dudes with personality. I’m tired of the robots. Give me the guys that aren’t afraid to let it rip.

I think the main thing you've seen is that they can compete with any of the teams that are ranked.

They're good enough.

They're not super great defensively but they're good enough because they cause turnovers.
A big play team.

They haven't scored less than 31 points yet in a game. Think about that one.

6. Games above 31.

31 is the magic number. If you score more than that you got a chance.

You can recruit when you score that many points because everybody gets stats

Absolutely brilliant coaching down the stretch. That 2 point conversion was absolutely beautifully orchestrated!
Stein gave credit to Kenny. They spread the field and Kenny saw the open box and Kenny took it. Sure, he is coached to do that, but Stein said he was watching the routes when all of a sudden they were storming the field. When they spread the field, I thought it was a planned QB run and envisioned it failing short of the goal line. Thank you Kenny!! Like other games, he appears to be two QBs during the game. He is the starter who struggles and then is the backup off the bench the proves everyone right who says QB2 should be QB1. If he gets his legs through a whole game, UK may be the best team in the nation. 😝

I was confident that if Kiffin went for it, and thought he would, that we would lose. That is and will eat at him. His rationale was sound, but I think the game is over if he goes for it on fourth.

Looked to me that the UK defense laid down for Leavitt in OT so Stein could call the 2 pt conversion and end the game. Lol

After watching that TD run, we all knew there was no way in the world Stein was going for the PAT.

In the context of that moment though, his defense had completely bottled us up in the second half and they were on their own 43. Considering how their defense was playing and how much our defense had been surprisingly stout against the run all night (LSU was only avg 2.6 ypc for the game and we had a good number of tackles for loss), it wasn't as obvious a decision at the time as it now seems in hindsight. It would have been completely justified as well, but it also would have been brought up afterwards as the "decision that cost him the game" if we hold them there and go on to score a TD in regulation with a short field (on their 43 yard line) and 1:30 left on the clock. Either choice would have been justified given the situation.

I thought FOR SURE he goes for it. Convert and it's ballgame. The way they were imposing their will on us, I thought game over cause he's going for it.
I think he over thought it and stein got in his head.

I mean i said we would take out Kiffin but I wasn't sold on that bold statement :ROFLMAO: but dayum, i mean we got stopped on offense most of the 2nd half, whiffed 2 easy FGs and STILL beat that *** on the most beautiful call Ive seen on a 2pt conversion. I mean he could have moonwalked in
The beauty of it is it wasn't called as a designed run. Kenny just saw it and took it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the front page here all Football with little basketball talk this late in the year.
That will change quickly I’m sure. First time basketball lays an egg, this will look like an episode of Jerry Springer. And if we beat Kansas, we will be projecting 40-0s. Make no mistake, basketball still matters in Kentucky. Many of us are third or fourth generation fans at this point, living and dying by the Cats on the hardwood the way our parents and their parents did. Unfortunately, we are down and it saps the fun out at the moment. You’ll have the hardcores who always “stop watching the games” but they’ll be right back on here bleeding out over the losses like the rest of us. Basketball is just different in Kentucky. For many reasons.

I have gone to so many games at commonwealth with no ticket we sucked so bad a couple of the ticket people always would let me in. We smuggled so much Budweiser in there. Barney would have been mortified at the entire scene. We have gone from that to a potential playoff team. In all of what? 37-38 years. lol.

Of course, just saying it’s great to have a fun football team. Now we don’t have just basketball to look forward too.

Agree completely and I'm looking forward to BB season. Not going to root for failure just because it's Pope. By April we will know where the program and coach stand.

Would be epic for both programs to have a solid year.

I want Pope to be great. Sadly nothing he has shown or his history shows that it will be the case, but I will root for his team the same as I always do. I hope he proves me wrong.

Yeah USC and Alabama won rings with him as OC/QB coach. Plus Ole Miss was a doormat before he got there. He's a jack*ss but I love that he doesn't give a F about anything.

Stein out coached him Saturday. The chess match between both of them was fun to watch at least to me.
Totally agreed. I get people on the surface want to say that stuff, but if you actually look you see. Like you said, nattys as an OC. Sark pooped away a gift when he took over for him (Sark sucks, in comparison, btw) in the natty game. His time as HC at USC was in the midst of all the scholly/recruiting sanctions due to Carroll. Fwiw, USC lied to him about those prior to him taking the job. He was very competitive in his one year at UT without an actual QB. I mean, the Raiders thing, like that mess was his immaturity and Al Davis being batcrap crazy. First time he went places without people lying to him about sanctions (USC) or personnel (the Davis rift was over JaMarcus Russell...obviously Kiffin was right) he won big relative to where he was in both places. FAU was as good as they ever had been in their history and essentially the same with Ole Miss. LSU is going to be a beast next year, and I honestly think they'll be in the thick of it this year too. You give him one complete cycle and he will have that roster unreal good. He would've this year had Ole Miss not acted so quickly. They were scared to death he was going to empty the cupboard there. And he damned near did.

I've said it a bunch on here, give me the guys with personality. It's why I like Stein so much. Same with Swaggy Cal (not to be confused with Saggy Cal the last few years). I go all the way back to Bum Phillips. Mike Leach. I could think of a ton of them. I hate the PR machine robots that most are today. Those dudes didn't give an eff about giving a quote or saying something that came back on them later. Sports are entertainment for most of us. Those types of guys are entertaining.

I was doing some community service this morning and the feller next to me said that Trent Noah is switching to FB! Has anyone else heard about this? I am currently not legally allowed to message him or his family due a big misunderstanding but I haven't seen him post anything about it on Facebook.
