I called it. I knew there was no way Hurley would consider a measly 12.5 million per year when he is building a dynasty and about to pass UK in titles. They need to go significantly higher like 15 to 20 million.
He was offered $10 mil

I hate that Adam Driver go stuck with such a ****** Disney writing team and directors for that POS trilogy. Kylo Ren could have been really good with the right story behind it. He’s a good actor too.

My brother in law had lunch last season after Hurley’s first title and point blank told me Hurley would take the UK job if offered. He just texted my wife an hour ago saying Hurley will be the next KY Coach. I don’t know if he has talked to Hurley recently or just guessing.

They had lunch last season after Title 1 and Hurley told him he would take the KY job then if offered
Can you ask your brother-in-law what happened?

If he turns down $100 Million, he's not smart enough to coach anywhere. Next!
You guys need to understand. He’s not turning down 100 million. He’s turning down an 8 year weight around his neck. He doesn’t want a long contract. He wants to be in the nba eventually. Plus UConn will give him a sack too.

you arent a uk fan are you? Mitch barnhart doesnt put those types of buyouts or hurdles into contracts. Hurley could coach 4 years and leave with no fuss .... just like cal left with nothing in his way to stop him. Hurley turned down UK because he knows our AD at UK is a pathetic pile of trash when it comes to his job people around UConn will do what it takes to make titles happen. Barnhart isnt willing to do what it takes to just keep UK good.

It's an all in gamble. To be honest I don't think it's smart to lock yourself in for that much money on a guy that could flame out for whatever reason. It makes him un-fireable.

According to Pilgrim and others is 8 years 100 million.
It's not ONLY about the money. Any coach Mitch is talking with is already wealthy enough compared to most other people. You need to sell them on the Job. If you listen to Cal's story he got sold the job at Arkansas. If Mitch can't sell the vision we will end up with a second tier wanna be Coach. I agree the coach has to want to be here but if you have ever had to hire someone from another job you have to make them want to be at new job especially if they are leaving a very comfortable situation.

I said on another thread a few days ago that it would take 7 years and $100 million to have
a chance at Hurley. I was told I was ridiculous but I'll still say that's what it will take. This is
2024 and coaches don't cost what they used to cost.
