If true, Wow! At the very least it will end up being a huge financial burden on UConn to keep him.According to Pilgrim and others is 8 years 100 million.

Just spend a few bucks on a bucket to barf in, and i would be good to go.I would cheer for them at 10% of that
All the drew rumors were true thoughI didn't believe pretty much anything about the Drew rumors. I am choosing to believe this.

There’s three coaches in the NBA that would make more. Bill Self would be second in the college ranks, 3 million a year behind our guy.Probably safe to say no basketball coach in history has ever made that, right? Does any coach in any sport in the world make that? WOW
I mean the end ones, signing today or presser stuff. All the drew rumors were true though
Always the dang MIL, too.I just hope he doesn't have a mother in law that makes him turn it down.
My brother in law had lunch last season after Hurley’s first title and point blank told me Hurley would take the UK job if offered. He just texted my wife an hour ago saying Hurley will be the next KY Coach. I don’t know if he has talked to Hurley recently or just guessing.Your bro-in-law and wife are friends? Keep an eye on that.
They had lunch last season after Title 1 and Hurley told him he would take the KY job then if offeredGotcha. Seems like pretty solid information then. Thanks.
Hurley made 5 million last year, got a bonus for winning the title which took it to $6.5. Last time he got a raise (after the 1st title), they had to go before the Conn. government to get it approved. $7.5-10 base salary would NOT get approved. Barely got $5 million, you think they double it ? UCONN athletic budget is operating in the red as we speak, no way it can afford more. The Big East just doesn't have the football $$ to offer those kind of contracts.12.5 million per year seems a little low to try get a New England man to leave a New England School after winning back to back titles. I feel like it should be 15 million per year with a 5 million bonus per Final Four. I would assume UConn will be able to offer some what close to 10 million like in the 7.5-10 million range so 12.5 isn't going to seem that big of a difference if they can offer 10 million. Also what's the point of offering the super long deals? The coach can apparently leave whenever they want to but if they have bad performance we can't fire them. Might as well do 3-5 year contracts so the coach stays hungry to do well for the next contract.
I think it was all true out out by uk anticipating he would take itI mean the end ones, signing today or presser stuff.
4th actually Pop, Kerr, somehow Monty at Detroit are only ones to beat it I think .Wow. That would make him like the 5th highest paid head coach in all levels of basketball
Jesus took the wheel and saved us.I think it was all true out out by uk anticipating he would take it
All levels of basketball....how about all levels of all sports.....holy moly...
From November 2023.

Hurley's got friends? Now that is just too hard to believeHe’s friends with Hurley?
8 years is a long damn time for UK fans
Lol if that is the offer and he doesn't accept......
Agree. He has no time for friends bc his only friend is basketball and his desire to drink from his enemies skullsHurley's got friends? Now that is just too hard to believe
Who really cares as long as it “appears” that he cares about winning the game thats in front of him…For that Amount of coin, what are the expectations? What happens the first time he’s knocked out in the first weekend of the tourney or loses to Arkansas in the first round of the SEC tourney? Or heaven forbid loses 10 games?
Maybe Hurley wasn't being serious at lunch when he said he would take the UK job. Also winning a second title could change things. Plus if you friend hasn't talked to Hurley since he could just be assuming. Also Hurley could be leaking false info that he's going to UK to try to get a raise from UConn.Brother in law and Hurley
The big difference is that in New England, the only people that care about college sports are degenerate gamblers. There are too many professional franchises there. His ego wants to be on a bigger stage. High School state championship have a bigger turn out when returning home than they did after a National Championship. He wants to be somewhere that his legacy actually means something to people other than staff and current students.12.5 million per year seems a little low to try get a New England man to leave a New England School after winning back to back titles. Your "joke" has grown stale.I swing by Mitch’s office this morning and gave him one of those testosterone deodorant sticks before he started his day.
It’s paid dividends
Timing is way off here. Doesn't UConn have their celebration event this Sat? No way he does anything before or immediately after this, right?Jesus took the wheel and saved us.
I tend to agree, but a Hurley/Kentucky combo could legitimately make the rest of college basketball fill its collective pants. No is is worth that much money !
Do the T levels check out?I’ll be honest. I can respect this offer. If he turns that down that’s not on Mitch.
First positive thing I’ve heard since this whole fiasco started.
Let’s hope it’s true
If UK was offering 12.5 million per year and they wanted to keep him I think they would find a way to get him a small rise. Probably not super close to 10 million but maybe 7.5 or 8 million.Hurley made 5 million last year, got a bonus for winning the title which took it to $6.5. Last time he got a raise (after the 1st title), they had to go before the Conn. government to get it approved. $7.5-10 base salary would NOT get approved. All true I’m just giving BBN my little tidbit of info I have. Hope we land Hurley thoughMaybe Hurley wasn't being serious at lunch when he said he would take the UK job. Also Hurley could be leaking false info that he's going to UK to try to get a raise from UConn.
