Before last year his record wasn't better than Pope's is now. He had one first round exit at San Fran and had a winning percentage of 57-36 overall and 23-22 in conference. Then in his first two season at Florida he lost in the first round of the NIT and then lost in the first round of the Big Dance.
I’m worried more about Pope squeezing out a sweet 16 and next year having the same type of season and squeezing it out again. I’d still what him removed, but I don’t think they would. We don’t want to get stuck in the middle of middling Pope abilities. It’s like we’re doing what he’s always done but some slight tournament success can happen when you’re spending millions and millions of dollars. We need to look at it from a lbs for lbs situation. Given the financial power, and past and current history, some sweet 16’s don’t need to be enough to keep him in place. It’s just a pattern of average which we don’t do here.

We beat EVERYTHING to death on this board. Anyway, his resume is only impressive because he won the title last year. That carries a ton of weight. Before that, if UK hired him this board would have melted down.
