Why are we arguing the legality of a kid who has had problems in the past passing out **** faced in the drivers seat of his running vehicle with an open container. Feel like the discussion should be if he should still be on the team, not what he’ll be charged with.

A lot of newer cars are keyless (push button start) now, so that rule is antiquated. I would guess that sitting in a running car would suffice since, in the days when all ignitions had keys, the car couldn't be running if the key weren't in the ignition.

AJ's transgressions are far, far worse than JW's (AJ has been caught driving lethally multiple times without alcohol involved, JW was just passed out in a stationary running car...), and AJ is far more destructive to team chemistry, and people on here were still clamoring for him long after it was well known what a complete pile of crap he is. With that said, it's more than fair to say it's time to move on from JW since it's clear he hasn't amended his ways.

He can wrestle freestyle. He sucks folk style due to his bottom position, etc. Laying on your belly in freestyle is a little different than getting up from bottom.

I think he came to Iowa with a past with other offenses or behavior. I no longer think he is the best option, its a long wrestling season and it don't look like he has much dedication to anything other than himself.

I have a 23 Honda Accord, and I do need the fob in the car in order to start it, but it is a push button start, so there is no key to put in the ignition. I don't know if there are fancier cars that can run just on an app without a key at all.

Not much comparison between JW and AJ. They both wrestled at Okie St and that’s kind of where it ends. AJ had sexual assault charges, allegedly strangled a pregnant woman, and evaded police at high speeds, ultimately pleading to a felony. Jordan’s issues are much more minor. The kid clearly has some growing up to do and I hope he figures it out before he seriously hurts himself or someone else.

I hope he gets some help and can overcome his obvious addiction. He needs Iowa wrestling more than Iowa wrestling needs him, so I tend to trust those closest to the situation. I have been critical of the Brands brothers in many things, but you couldn't find better guys when it comes to helping young men in situations like this. I hope he is granted another chance.

This is more than growing up. Sounds like a disease to me. He needs help and wrestling IS NOT IT. Wrestling has not shown him the discipline he needs to over come the problem. Get him in a program fix himself move on from wrestling and learn how to live your life.

I do believe the Brands are great guys and your sentiment sounds good on paper. But why do folks think kids should still have privileges to things they no longer deserve just on the principle they could further spiral?

If he stays on the team but is never allowed to wrestle for Iowa or represent a weight at NCAA's, gets help and goes to class, I could sign up for the structure argument because its really all about him then.

The problem is that this is JW's 4th or 5th transgression since OSU. Not all led to arrest. All alcohol. I was told that if JW had one beer, he had ten. No stop button until ****-faced. The real harm to the team is that TNT have to spend time dealing with a likely non contributor because he has never shown that he is a contributor. At some point TNT have limited resources for 30 guys. May as well be on the right 30 guys.

If that is true that is textbook alcoholism. He’ll need to come to terms with the fact that he and alcohol simply can’t coexist. Hopefully, this is his rock bottom and he can put in the work to get better, but he definitely can’t do it alone.

The comparison has little to with details of the crimes/transgressions of the two individuals. Imo, it has more to do with some fans’ ability to rationalize bad behavior based on technicalities. But that’s just me….
