Have to give credit to Anthony -- hanging around him & talking to him every day has had quite the effect on me. Unreal how mature, reasonable, and responsible I am these days, really.

Joel Berry, Donovan Mitchell, Tyler Lydon, Josh Jackson, Lonzo Ball.

Feel like he's the reason for all of it, but also got out in time. Once he blew up & confirmed everything Lavar had said would happen, Dad REALLY lost it -- and his other kids are going to unfortunately have to pay for it.

LiAngelo is a 3 star prospect on Rivals, and LeMelo looks like a scrub wannabe Austin Rivers, and he's hyping them up to be in the same category, or better, than Lonzo -- FALSE.

and focus that on LaMelo.

If he keeps being an entitled little ****, I'll be rooting hard for the guy. Couple dribbles past half-court, point at it and nail it. That little ******* is cool in my book. Go get em' LaMelo:

I said D3 was glorified intramurals, because it is. There's no athletic scholarships, practice time is limited, it's not revenue generating, and the coaches are also teachers and professors. Also, many of you who post on this thread (73, Killa, BBdK, richie, Vern) could absolutely have played somewhere in Division 3. For fun, here are some of the highest ranked D3 teams....

Neumann
Wisconsin-River Falls
Rochester
Marietta (Ohio)
Susquehanna
Swarthmore
Amherst
Guillford
Whitman

I never once said the players suck, or that you could compete with the best D3 players. Or form a team of GYEROers and make the final four. I said many of you could easily have played. Because it's true. Of the list of 5 people off the top of my head above, every one could have played D3 basketball. Easily.

* UKO tries soooooooooo hard. Now he's running around social media insisting Sturgill Simpson's act is cliche/copycat/run-of-the-mill. :joy:

Basically, just the same ole tired country music act, featuring a horn section, songs about astrology, hallucinogenic drugs, religious dieties, a little acid rock, some heavy metal covers......cut-and-paste, for sure!!

No, Beckett....didn't say anything that was remotely close to that. Simpson is unique and different...which is refreshing. But that doesn't mean he is the savior to country.

Musically, they are decent, but nothing stands out from the other "country rock" bands that are out there now. The only saving grace he has is his songwriting, which is nice to see deviate from the usual truck/beer/dirt road cliche that is being bottled and sold the last few years.

Vocally, he stood out initially, but now that ship has sailed. That shtick on every-single-song now is brutal. His act is tired.

247 has bought into the hype and moved him up to the #3 prospect in the class. We'll see.

You guys need to get over the Kennard hate and focus that on LaMelo.

He's going to runaway with the "Most hated" title, maybe of all time.
The real unsung dickhead here is the coach. Any coach worth his salt would've sat a kid like that at the first sign of cherry picking.

Angling to follow the kid to college in a basketball ops role mos def.

Further, there are *442* Division 3 basketball schools in the country. With a roster of 15 players, that means there 6-7,000 D3 players.

http://www.athleticscholarships.net/division-3-colleges-schools.htm

I also said this in reference to Jack Taylor scoring 138 points for Grinnell College. His coach would designate certain games for nothing more than setting national scoring records, and Taylor attempted 108 shots that game.

There's no question there are great players all over every division in college basketball. But overall, D3 is high level intramurals, and most of you with any high school career could have gotten onto a team somewhere.

^ correct, with basically no rules w/ regards to recruiting and eligibility. Ballers & NCAA rejects galore in NAIA.

You have no clue what you're talking about. I played at a pretty competitive level, and my buddy that played NAIA was incredible. Like 360 dunks are easy kinda guy. Stick to running, dumbass.

Me, too.

I have a buddy that was NAIA National Player of the Year. He was incredible, and got NBA tryouts. Could easily still be playing in Europe today if he wanted.

Also had another that barely made the team at Dunbar, and went onto have a good career at NAIA Cincinnati Bible College.

We're talking about just simply playing for a Division 3 team. Each of those 5 GYERO posters I listed could *easily* have done so.

Again, at lower D3 schools, it's very possible. At the very top schools, like Wisconsin-Plattville (Bo Ryan) or my school (2 Time D3 Champions)...absolutely not. We were pretty much a lower Ivy League, and schools like UWP are basically D2. Our volleyball team competed with a ton of D1 schools, and was pretty much made up of D1 academic transfers...and has won 10 National Championships.

Needed UCLA -3.5 to close out a parlay. Went to bed with UCLA down like 68 so I assumed I was toast but wake up and see a 3 point win [laughing]. Vegas man

Interesting that so many of you fools GAMBOL, but the thread can never keep life. Would be fun to talk picks and cue up a few wins.

This is where the thread misses a Herm or Tx. They would have already created some sort of spreadsheet that would have circulated among the regulars to track this.

Well, there are FOUR HUNDRED AND FORTY TWO teams in Division 3.

No ****? There's a handful at the top that are really good?? Go figure!!!

:scream::scream::scream::scream:

Those are the outliers, goofball. The norm is far from that.

Regardless of their talent, I think it's fair to question why a cool, social, athletic kid would choose a small college to play ball for 4 years when he could attend a state U. where there's a lot of parties and hot chicks. JMO.

Pretty much. My options were to play soccer at Centre, Georgetown, or Sewanee...or have the time of my life at UK.

Parties, big dorm, fraternity life, lassies, good education. Wasn't exactly a difficult decision.

JMO. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Paper/folder cut under my nail. WTF??? Marcus stab me with a knife or something. :flush:

- 22 players on WashU's roster this season...JV and Varsity. 16 of them are 6'4" and taller. Who is 6'4" and up in this thread? Strokin? NW50? AGS? BretB? And 2 of those guys played D1.

My college roommate freshman year choose to become student manager. I choose the fraternity path. He's now an assistant at a mid major making good coin and on the upward path to become a head coach soon and I originate loans for a living. LIFE.

At least when I passed on the chance to go to UK and enjoy all it had to offer, I had the opportunity to be a competitive athlete and play at some of the best golf courses in the region for free, while at the same time having the university pay me scholarship money towards a first rate education, and give me a bunch of free stuff.

Not sure what Anth's excuse is...

John, John.

A lot going on in this picture, and none of it good for Mr. Palumbo.
  1. Pretty clearly he's trying to take a picture without him noticing. It's like if UKO tried to squeeze off a picture of some big titted waitress while she wasn't looking. You only see half the guy's head, and he's clearly got a little creeper grin, as he's really excited about this moment, and envisioning how the picture will make him seem "cool" on social media.
  2. Cal knows he's taking the picture but is doing his best to pretend like he doesn't see it. You can see the silent disgust seeping out of him, and that he is struggling to contain his contempt.
  3. I bet it took Mr. Palumbo an hour to come up with what he was going to say about this picture, and it still ended up being awkward and weird. He knows he couldn't just post it without saying anything, as that'd be too creepy even for him. So, he makes sure not to call him Cal or Coach, but to call him John, TWICE, because he needs to communicate the depth of their friendship (as he sees it) without just saying I Love You, John. And you can really tell he had no idea what to say after the coffee line, because that is objectively not the kind of picture you would use to say someone could coach another 15 years.
If the Palumbo's don't have the Calipari's house wired with hidden cameras, I'll be absolutely shocked.

I have no idea why Cal subjects himself to them, but there's definitely another reason other than "he likes them". Edit: *found it* President of Palumbo Lumber and Development Company, Calipari Foundation Board Member.
