* (Ir)regardless, I won't be harkening back to the days of the 1930s to say "hey, things are actually pretty normal nowadays! Remember 1937??!"
* Great (lengthy)
New Yorker article on Anthony Bourdain. I'm no foodie at all, but that guy kicks ***. Just an awesome all-around, fun dude.

* UKO tries soooooooooo hard. Now he's running around social media insisting Sturgill Simpson's act is cliche/copycat/run-of-the-mill. :joy:
Basically, just the same ole tired country music act, featuring a horn section, songs about astrology, hallucinogenic drugs, religious dieties, a little acid rock, some heavy metal covers......cut-and-paste, for sure!!
* Speaking of country music acts, Ben Nichols of Lucero broke out on his own and recorded a solo album. I knew that, but didn't realize the entire thing was based on Cormac Mccarthy's
Blood Meridian. Here's a fundraiser show he did, alongside a bunch of university/PHD history geeks, and explaining the meaning of each song as it relates to the novel.
I believe the term for this is "bro country."
* Haven't researched it thoroughly, but I believe Alabama can get pumped. No?
* Mardi Gras parades start this weekend. Yeehaw. Krewe de Vieux --> raunchy, filthy, satirical. A local favorite. See yall Saturday night. [banana][banana]
