FYI, there's a series called Red Oaks on Amazon Prime. Essentially set in 80s Country Club culture, although if a sport is focused on it's tennis rather than golf. It's pretty damn good though, and I'm sure those that grew up on a CC will be a bit nostalgic. I was, even though the one I grew up on was closer to a nascar race than Augusta National.

Check it out if you're out of decent stuff to watch.

Lol probably downloading ZBB CDs on kazaa because ZBB so ****** the liberry don't even have it

Y'all really ain't seen a country club scene till you've seen the Richmond CC scene. Its like if Nicholasville had one. People are Arlington members because that's just what you do, but you wouldn't be caught dead there because it sucks. You can't drop it because then you're a poor, so, you just keep paying the ever-increasing fees while nobody uses the nice golf course. It's a really cool course. Stop by and play it for free some time. Just walk off #10. Nobody will give a **** as long as you look the part.

There's another "country club" by the High School but it's for criminals and people don't talk about it.

Lone Oak in Nicholasville was a decent little track at one time, but they fell on hard times and went public. Not nearly as well-kept as it used to be. Pretty inexpensive to play there.

<---- Paducah CC. 18 holes, lunch + pool, 9-18 holes = summer vacay profit :cool2:

*Actually loved playing Rolling Hills
[laughing] It was a really fun course. Walking it was a ***** though. I can only think of about 4 holes where there wasn't a significant hill to go up or down, especially as a kid.

The pool is what made RHCC though.

Them matts doh.

<--- Was once hit in the belly button while chipping on #1 from a tee shot on #2. Thought I had been shot. Far and away the most dangerous course on the planet.
Oh, wow, talk about a horrific slice.:scream::golf:

I played there last year, fun course, still think it's pretty good. But I'm no course snob.

Grew up going to Maysville CC and it was exactly like bbdk described it. Me and my brothers playing at the pool all day with the moms chattering pool side, ordering our lunch on the family membership number, dads all playing golf together. The kids would go up and watch their dads put on 9 by the pool when making the turn. If we were lucky we got to putt for them. Like out of the Sandlot era honestly. Loved that time there.

I had a friend who was a big baseball player, back at the country club pool,
He could throw that tennis ball by ya,
Make you look like a fool, boy
Saw him the other night at the clubhouse Tex Mex bar,
I was walking in he was walking out,
He came back inside sat down, had a few margs,
And all we kept talking abouuutttttt....

Self does it again with the late upset, smh. Or was it? (edit: seems crystal ball shifted towards KU in the end, whatever)

Haven't followed it as closely this year, thought he was Sparty bound for a long time. Huge get, regardless. Kid is a stud...Meyer's favorite 2 guard he's scouted, which is pretty high praise.

Clearly looked on another level at McDAA week. Unselfish, has PG skills, and unlike Wiggins, it's a common sentiment that he's "maybe the most competitive guy I've covered" from pretty much everyone.

On the heels of the helicopter crash in Pigeon Forge, two people were killed in a Gatlinburg hot tub accident this week.

If he plays his cards right and gets on Self's good side he might be able to crack the rotation by February.

I'm obviously joking because Jackson is on another level and I'm not sure Self could hurt his draft status if he tried, but I have no idea why you'd take a chance and go to KU if you're a one-and-done player. Self has proven again and again that if he decides you're not ready, he couldn't give two ***** about your draft stock and your *** will sit. Malik Newman taking his talents to Starkville thinks it's risky hoping Self decides you're worthy of PT. I don't get it. To me if you're a top ten player and you're not going to Duke, Kentucky, or maybe Michigan State/Zona/Texas where a competent coach and your own team to lead awaits, you're doing it wrong. And yes, Kansas is the one blueblood that I exclude from that "Also-ran" list and think is a dumb choice for a one-and-done kid.

Yeah, Jackson could go anywhere. If I'm sitting on that kind of lottery ticket though, I just really don't get how you wouldn't want to absolutely minimize all risk. Why take a chance on being the next Diallo or Newman? Even if it's a two percent chance. At Kentucky, and to a lesser extent, Duke, it's a zero percent risk. If you can play, hell, even if you CAN'T play, you're still probably getting a guaranteed contract, and if you're a can't-miss guy? You're going lotto and not risking that status. Look at Ben Simmons. Went into LSU can't miss, and he's still can't miss, but more questions were raised during that season than ever should've been. He went from "best prospect since Lebron?" to probably going second to Ingram. That's a disaster, relatively speaking.

You have to be invited to join, it's not like just filling out an application online.

Really? You mean I can't just fax them an app and paypal $60K for my initiation? Damn...Pine Valley and Augusta wouldn't let me do it either. [eyeroll]

Here's an elite CC tip for you.....take your golf shoes with you to the locker room before you put them on.

-Jackson will be fine out in Kansas, just like Wiggins. Embiid played pretty well before getting hurt as well. X Henry. This guy isn't a project, he's good to go from day 1. They got better. Self just doesn't have the patience for the bigs that need time. Part of me thinks he hates dealing with 1&d the other part of me remembers he's the 3rd best recruiter in the game. He's a weird dude but he reels em in out there year after year.

-If Allen is still a possibility I'm good with that. Great kid, likely multi year player, can step in for Bam next year. If he was going to Texas why is he still waiting?

-[laughing] @ Bob joining IHC.

-Weather for the next 6 days. Hey WCC, suck my d*ck. :cool2: Plan accordingly.

I've liked Allen much more after these two all-star appearances than I did beforehand. Long and active, but with a nice touch. More of a shot-blocker than I anticipated. Needs about 15 more pounds, but he would probably already give us more than Lee would. Plus he doesn't have resting dumbface like MB does. And that fro would give Throwboy Tees some good new material.

Tuesday Shorts:

- You got me, Anth! I hate 70 degree weather.

- [laughing] Of course, Larry Vaught wrote an article on Willis's girlfriend. What took you so long, Larry?

- Awesome- everyone's loaded next year, although this drops Michigan State from top contender level to borderline Top 10.

- Anyone ever gotten the shots for cat allergies?

- So, has Joey Hovs caught me in height yet?

- Kind of pisses me off that AGAIN we have an opening at the 3 and we weren't even in the conversation with two studs in Jackson and Ferguson.

- Again, Briscoe and Matthews need to be making 500 Js a day.

- I can't help it, I love the show Southern Charm. Just wish Richie was on it.

- Burns' Jackie Robinson doc is excellent so far. Not surprisingly.

Woodford Hills CC until I was 10 then it was Stones River CC in Murfreesboro through high school.

Worshipped summers there as a young kiddo.

Swim practice in the AM with all your buddies. Goof off in the pool until lunch. Grab lunch at the snack bar. Then an sweltering early afternoon 18 w/ said buddies. Swim after and cool off. Dad would come by after work and play a quick 18 with him. #rinserepeat

**Weekend Story**

-Didn't get a chance to do much Catpawing yesterday but I have some weekend scuttlebutt from Saturday. Went to a frat party (first one I've been to in a while) Saturday night at UofL. The house that hosted it is infamously known as "The Beef Shack," not sure why it's called that but it gives me a chuckle. My buddy and I partnered up and took over the beer pong table where I gradually became Fall of Rome drunk. After about 4 or 5 games I became less interested in beer pong and more interested in a nice freshman blonde (solid 7.5, I'm pretty sure). Eventually made our way to the dance floor for some solid grinding action.

After a while she asks if we can go out back, obviously I obliged, out the back door, make out sesh in the driveway on the side of the house. During the act she begins to grab my crotch, I get the hint but there are drunk people wandering all around the house and drinking on the porch which is in plain sight of where we are. I get the brilliant idea to go out the back gate into the alley way behind the back fence of the house. She starts doming me up on the side of this alley way, I'm having a great time, next thing I know a set of headlights is driving straight for us right in the middle of the act. She springs up and bolts for the fence gate, leaving me isolated, pants down with no time to hide my junk, car driving straight for me. I reach down and try to quickly pull up my pants, fumble my trousers but thankfully pull up my boxers. At this point the car is about 20 feet away, so I quickly turn towards the fence behind me and act like I'm taking a leak.

So there I am, shipwreck drunk, trousers around my ankles, pretending to piss as the car drives past, praying it wasn't a cop. It wasn't thankfully. I waited for it to get out of sight, then pulled my pants up and made my way back into the party where to much of my dismay the blonde was MIA. I guess she was so embarrassed she decided to leave immediately. Didn't even get her number. The party was dying down when I got back inside, so I gave up and called it a night. Took a lyft back to my buddy's apartment and drunkenly devoured a metric ton of pizza rolls. Silver lining to a somewhat disappointing night.

Enjoy your Tuesday, GYERO.

I like two lineups for next year:

Bam
Gabriel
Willis
Fox
Monk

Briscoe
Fox
Monk
Bam
Gabriel

Our D, rebounding and rim-protection should be fine. We can hide Willis a bit with our length and quickness in the first. In the second, all 3 guards can handle a college swingman on D. What concerns me is clogging the middle on offense. I don't think either Allen nor Bolden help in that regard much. Of course, I'll take another stud big but I just don't think it's all that necessary. I think Bam, Gabriel, Willis, SKJ and Humphries are a good enough interior rotation. Cal worries me with his insistence on going huge in this era.

What I wouldn't give for a big ol' leap from Matthews. He's the missing piece. Hope he can improve his shot and ballhandling. I like his nose for the ball. Love his athleticism and physicality.
