Spent my 18th birthday, also Oaks night, in that fine establishment. Was shown the ways of the world by Mary Jane.

aww!

i vaguely remember a pic in this hallowed thread - YEARS ago of you ...asleep...at a table

All dressed up -

was it THAT night!!?!

[gobigbluebell]

Canes is interesting. Because of inconsistencies and poor operations I have officially labeled it some HONKIFIED ********.

[PTI Anon1640710541]

False.

Lol. That was years later.

Percolated coffee (with egg shells in the grounds) is better than anything a drip maker (including Bunn) can do.

It's NOT better than a French press, but beats anything else.

Percolating over a campfire takes it up another notch. But yeah, french press is the best.

When it comes to commercially brewed coffee at a gas station or restaurant, Bunn-o-matic reigns supreme. For me it's the combination of a classic look with the ease of throwing some grounds in and hitting a button to produce a great cup of coffee.

I can see you looking into the woodsy distance w/your tin-silver camping cup of intoxicating morning Joe ...steam rising....philosophically pondering if we will ever achieve lasting peace in the holy land ...or ....knoxville for that matter

and --- i see a giant Bobby-Marley freedom-aint-free-doobie neatly set tucked behind your ear ...:because you forgot it was there ...and The Clown dutifully (( but sloppily )) gathering firewood -

Somewhere in the distance you can STILL hear Comrade Matthew H Jones bitching about how you tied him up unjustly -- BUT DAMN THATS GOOD COFFEE

Thats just what comes to mind, my big
blue brother

[funKYcat75]

Zaxby’s tastes like it is breaded in salt.
Canes tastes like it is breaded in water and baking soda.
Neither are great. Both are fine.

[VernHatton52]

I'm with 80. Indi's never disappoints.

[BBdK]

Sheppard vs Dillingham at 9 on ESPN.

[Hank Camacho_rivals115797]

Good to see that UK is already getting screwed with the 9 pm ESPN tipoff in July.

[Kooky Kats_anon]

Pour-over and espresso for this guy. Fresh roasted Blue Bottle beans, mazzer grinder.

[august-west]

I’ve never had a cup of coffee in my life. Nor have I ever had Canes, Zaxby’s, LJS or CD’s. I used to tear up Indi’s though, so I have that going for me.

[legalbeagle123]

Never drank coffee for the first 43 years of my life. Got sick at a conference in February 2020 (may have been Covid ) and couldn't get warm in the hotel room, so figured I'd try some coffee. Hooked ever since.

[[email protected]]

I have no strong feelings about yacht rock either way, but for whatever reason the term makes me think of the dude in the Howard Stern movie who talked about doing some summer stock light comedy.

[VernHatton52]

I haven't had 5 cups of coffee in my entire life.

[Ron Mehico]

I never drank coffee until I had my 2nd kid and now I drink it on the weekends and before I work out. Never more than 3 days a week so I don’t get addicted like my family is. It also cracked me up when I first had it as I was absolutely hyper as **** (and still get that way) that basically 50% of society is on speed every morning. What a world of junkies we are.

[BBdK]

Reed & the Midwest honks putting on a damn clinic vs the superstars

.

[Ron Mehico]

Strive for greatness looking like our 2020 team

[UK_Dallas]

Shepherd trying to become everyone's favorite already.

- We are going to have that kid for 3-4 years if Cal doesn't run him off.

[TCPUKChamps]

Lol. Clinic.

[VernHatton52]

if Cal doesn't run him off.

Cal doesn't run off guys. They run bc they're scared. Shep ain't scared.

[legalbeagle123]

Reed Sheppard gonna drown in poontang.

[CSC81]

1 foul total for both teams at midpoint of second half.

Grief, you imagine if college refs ever let a game just flow freely like this? Not like it’s been an NBA All-Star game with no attempted defense. Just letting them play.

[tommyg4uk]

Good to see that UK is already getting screwed with the 9 pm ESPN tipoff in July.

Mountain time, ftw.

[VernHatton52]

I like the way Bronny plays.

[btodd0224 n/a?]

Dillingham has been playing on a bum knee so you can’t judge his game. Shaping up to be one hell of a class.

[cole854]

I haven't had 5 cups of coffee in my entire life.

That speaks volumes.

If anyone is looking for a good college football listen, check out McElroy and Cubelic 3 hour radio show online every morning 8-11am. I’ve been listening for about 3 wks now and it’s a great listen. Something UK related almost everyday (heavy Levis discussion yday).

Iced coffee every morning for dad. I go back and forth between Starbucks and McDonald’s. Large, no cream, + shot of espresso. If McDonald’s gets it right, it’s better than Starbucks. But when they get it wrong, it’s sink water. Not much in between.

Speaking of McDonald’s, new spicy chicken sandwich is a sleeper in the chicken sandwich wars. Very good. I am fat white trash from jessamine county.

speaking of jessamine county, we officially listed our home for sale this week. We bought the house w 3 kids, now have 6 thanks to a Covid baby and bringing in my wife’s 2 teenage brothers. Prefer to stay in NichVegas but looking all over central ky and the florida panhandle for homes. I love my current house and it makes me a little sick to have to sell it. Going to miss my crape myrtles something awful.

speaking of the florida panhandle, down here right now for a baseball tourney. I think HUBER is too? It’s actually a lot more fun than it probably sounds to most of y’all. Keeping 4 kids entertained on the beach is a chore. All the kids have tons of friends down here, so after the games they all swim and the parents get ********* drunk and gossip about all things travel baseball. I’ve found my people.

I think it’s pretty funny the fan base is so obsessed with DJ Wagner. I have no clue what the dude looks like, what position he plays, where he’s from, nothing. But cal better f*cken land his ***, I’ll tell you that much.

[VernHatton52]

That speaks volumes.

Yeah, my teeth don't look like the yellow brick road, unlike your Trump taint-licking self.

We support to be excited about Drake as an assistant coach?

To recap their take(s): He isn't very good yet. Solid player with NFL potential, but has a lot of work to do. Statistically, against SEC competition, he was worse than Emory Jones, who everyone thinks sucks. Levis hype train at the collegiate level is unwarranted, but that doesn't mean he can't make a leap.

My take: He was pretty damn amazing last season, considering it was his first year on a new team, with a new coordinator that completely overhauled an offense. No one on the roster had ever even pass blocked. Also have to consider he came in during the summer (i.e. no spring ball) AND still had to spend a couple weeks winning the starting job (i.e. wasn't practicing with the 1s until mid August). He should take a leap now that he's familiar with the offense, the rest of the team is familiar with the offense, and he's had over a year now of working with NFL QB guru coaches.

[Wynn Duffy 69]

Cal needs to get Christopher Cross to coach in the Bahamas. Then everyone will know we’re back.

[gobigbluebell]

Happy National Chicken Finger Day, y’all (except Bbdk who knows dick about poultry).

[rudd1]

-fifty, wtf. Time flies gang.

-Lunch with English Jay at suggins, boring but that place never disappoints.

-Viv (prima) made bday dinner last night...fried chicken, half runners and mashed potatoes. Key lime pie for desert. Delicious

-wife set up a bday thing Saturday evening at our little club...doubles round robin/swimming pool/cupcakes. Not too shabby.

-it is Sirius xmu channel 84 szn. College football is the best. Hopefully it still exists in a few years.

^I'm gonna *bask* in the halcyon days of UK football while it lasts.

-new season of only murders on hulu is solid...as is the newest season of Endeavor on pbs/prime.

[Dore95]

What are the chances that Cal and Lil Wayne are actually "friends"?

[CAT Scratch FVR]

While I miss the days of kids athletics, we are now in the no commitment zone, pre-weddings and grandkids, etc.. The ability to pick up and go somewhere on a moments notice is severely underrated. The last time you could do those things was right after college, pre-wedding, pre-kids.
Want to hit the Bahamas next weekend? Check.
Just got invited on 3 day golf trip? Check.
Why we do this.

We support to be excited about Drake as an assistant coach?

Only if he can keep pimping UK and signing stud athletes to his Nike partnership deal.
