I'm intrigued by Trey Lance, Dude has played in 19 football games over the last three years, none of them at the D1 level, and only started one full season of football. Granted, in that year he went undefeated, had 28 TDs, zero interceptions and also ran for 1,100 years. But his team went undefeated the year before too, so it's clear they're loaded compared to the competition. It will be interesting to see if you can basically never play high level football and then just step in to be the guy in the NFL.

If people could sit in one place and watch an entire high school golf match they “might” go watch it, but very very few people are going to actually go walk 9 or 18 holes to watch. And no golfer or golf coach would ever expect otherwise.

The idea of “fans” watching just never crosses a high school golfers mind. They don’t think about it, or care about it.

Hey - as long as someone anyone wins the high school golf tournament- my school or someone else’s, fans or not, I’m happy.

Listened to Sam Vecenie’s podcast this morning. I like him and respect his opinion. He wasn’t as high as most on Sharpe. His comparison was Lonnie Walker, fwiw.

Also, he thinks Livingston will be a better one year college player.

Prior to custodial nephew playing soccer, I could not have cared less about it, but I really enjoy watching him play. If he ever takes up golf at a team level, I'll be watching him compete for sure in person. Not sure how encouraging your kid at a competition could be considered strange.

Hell, I even went to a Lego competition once to support the other nephew.

Appreciate Llama's constant pining for the UKIT. That's at least the 20th time he's made that post, and I agree 100%.

Killa's family tickets were 1st row Mezzanine growing up and through college -- best seats in the house, imo. Shade/Cover, extra room to walk out without having to have anyone move or reposition, and just the perfect view.

Hate to ***** all the time. Thinking things were WAY BETTER before change is small minded.

Kroger Field improvements:
  • Press Box/Suites is dope. Love the aesthetic.
  • Appreciate the exterior improvements. Much improved.
  • Concessions are much better.
  • Ribbon LED is dope.
  • Lighting is fantastic/improved. No longer SEC West gym conditions.
  • Team walking back and forth to JCTC is a cool tradition.
  • Miss grass, but I like the field (checkerboard notwithstanding); could use a refresher
  • Field level tarp is serviceable.
The Kroge is a solid A experience, up from a C+ IMO. It's a damn nice ballpark and typically gets complimented by visiting fans and media who first experience it since the renovations.

-Was looking over KY covid stats, which are actually looking better(finally), when I noticed the breakdown in age groups. My age group, 40-69... What the f*ck? Can you use 35-45? or 40-50? F*ck you, CDC Covid tracker demographic dick head. 40-69, gtfo.

-Team we played last night pulled the, "hey let's just bat through the order each inning." Didn't realize that meant we were going to throw 10 pitches to every batter, including a few short tosses. Our kids were like, "what the hell is this, we got 3 outs, how many pitches do these kids get?" Of course they were the Royals. Thom was right, imo.

-G wakes up and is the nicest kid on the planet today. Dressed, ready, no whining or arguing, complimenting me. Bi-polar little bastard.

-Speaking of kids, the other one is about to really be on the move and he seems to be much less cautious from early indications. Yippee.

-Just wanted to point out I appreciate SAE bringing his daughter to the new FFWCTGE. Great to see and hang out with them.

People were clamoring for chair backs but what they really wanted were chairs. Those chair backs they put in some sections actually reduce space IMO and were not really needed. It you need a chair back then bring your own for the bleachers.

But they are not creating personal space from side to side but reducing the leg space. They are chair backs only.

End zone seats. Good view. Had since Tim Couch days. For about 5 years, this family always came early because one of their people was so fat he took up two spots and pushed us out into the aisle. Buddy had enough and went off on them. He was kicked out of game but they never came back.

The number of pitches is 5.
If the coach can't throw down the middle, too bad.
If the kid cant hit the 5 pitches, too bad.
Fall ball, 5 strikes.
Spring ball, 5 pitches, or 3 strikes. If they don't hit that 5th pitch, they are Outta Here. Back to the dugout you bum.
3 Outs is Standard Operating Procedure for a game unless you were playing a practice scrimmage.

We do 6 pitches period and can't foul out. Which is plenty and keeps the game rolling. Actually if he had just done that it wouldn't have been a big deal to bat through. But when a kid has gone through 10 regular pitches without touching the ball and now we're 3' away soft tossing and they're missing several, gtfo.

Bringing a chairback to the game is is like going to the Grove Park Inn. It's probably a great experience, but I associate it with stuff you do when you are middle-aged and older and therefore I’m trying to stay away from that as long as I can.

If a fight ever breaks out over these t ball antics, please make sure to hold your phone sideways while recording the footage. Thanks.
My million dollar idea for an app is one that detects a fight on the screen, you get a prompt “are you recording a fight?” and then switches it to sideways for you.

I’ll develop it in coordination with World Star but then sell it to Apple for them to install as a feature in the iPhone 16 and beyond.

Mizzou's defense basically sold out and just blitzed TF out of Central Michigan to get some stops while still giving up 475 yards. Good luck with that Saturday.

Other notes:

Mizzou was 1/11 on 3rd downs

I know it's week to week, but man, I'm feeling confident about whipping their asses. I listened to a Mizzou podcast last night and they weren't exuding any confidence.

Do the new chair backs prevent spilling extra large Coke/Bourbon all over the feet of the people in front of you?

Sat in the front row of the upper level last time we played Mizzou at Krog. It POURED rain the entire game and all of the runoff from the seats above collected at our feet, about a foot deep at times when the drains couldn't keep up. Ponchos were worthless and we just accepted it. Bowden made the Mizzou defenders look like dumb cartoon villains, chasing him around and running into each other instead. Fun game.

If we clean up the mistakes Saturday, we'll smoke em. Our roster is more talented, deeper, more experienced, and pissed off.

Is there any event worth filming that doesn't warrant a landscape orientation?

I have tickets for 3rd row upper / 40 yard line for Saturday (free from a banker). Do the "mezzanine" seats still have the little ****** TV's with replays shown on them ? That was a nice little feature in addition to being shielded from the rain and shaded, along with the other benefits already mentioned.

I to was a bit more stubborn on Sharpe, his dribbling (over), shot selection, settling for jumpers, and handles could use some cleaning up. But damn his athleticism and stroke is off the charts and bailed him out in High School. He will not get those open looks in college. A stud, but be patient.

High of 79 and low of 55 , beautiful and nearly orgasmic weather, bottle it and use it year round (San Diego weather).

After being off 2 of the last 5 Saturdays and vacation in the middle of the month last month, I have to break it to my boss I need off again Saturday. Should be fine (LOL), EXCEPT he does my job when I am gone. WWDT.

I have field passes for Missouri game, does anyone know if that's a good view or fun experience?

For guys our height, NO. I can't see for ****. Now endzone field passes would be nice, I know it was sarcasm, but had to answer.

This guy coaches a travel team we have played against before. Got booted from the tournament from having 11 year olds playing in a 7U coach pitch tournament and happened to "misplace" their birth certificates. Of course the pencil thin goatees and plug of chew in their almost 6 foot tall "7 year olds" wasn't a giveaway at all.

Youth baseball is stupid.

My brother, catchaser, has a pretty good story involving a high school golf match, hand guns, and other threats of violence. Monroe County, man.
