Any health care worker that relies on some/most/all non emergent procedures, which is like 90% of healthcare, is completely screwed.

My brother was informed last week that his physicians group will be the only people seeing and treating COVID 19 patients. So he won’t have a pay cut, that lucky rascal.

Im not entirely sure what Joey is arguing. I think he’s under the impression that because a landlord is bitching that he’s not getting any rent that means he’ll go homeless without it? That’s he’s fiscally irresponsible? Responsible for the downfall of society? Not sure but I’m on board 100%
The mom & pop landlords should’ve sold their extra houses that they could barely afford, instead of getting greedy and riding a gravy train of rent that they can’t float for two months.
We could trade articles back and forth on subprime mortgages, hedge fund accountability, etc or watch The Big Short- but obviously there is a big difference with banks giving people with 400 credit scores a credit line to buy a flip house and them getting stuck with them... I'm not sure i'd lump that group in with people that are renting out the old house they used to live in.
You should read more articles, Clark. 400 credit scores got houses to live in as their primary residence. Medium and higher credit scores gobbled up extra houses as investments, raised housing prices, ruined housing stock, realized they couldn’t afford them and were the first to foreclose and ruin local markets. It wasn’t the subprime loans, it was more of the normal loans who were trying to make a buck and took too much risk.

The same deal applies for keeping a house you used to live in: hoarding housing stock to make a buck instead of letting someone else own a home, and then crying foul when you can’t pay for two extra months of mortgage. Because you don’t own the house, you were just acting as a middleman to the real owner, the bank (while increasing house costs for everyone else so you could take a cut).

What I am learning is that a lot of **** in this country runs on some pretty damn thin margins.

RACK EM. This is the real story of modern, for profit American healthcare.

- Luckily swimmer and I could, in theory, based on our training, work in the ICU if needed for extra pay. I just sent my CV out to some folks to try and pick up some shifts. I'd rather work at Vandy for a little extra if they need the help than dip in to the ol emergency fund. Especially when a small chunk of that liquidity is in the brown water collection.

While it's fun to poke at the ortho surgeons and other high income earners, most of them have large administrative staff that now have zero income. They're not designed to float like this, most of these practices have month long waits to even see someone, let alone get an elective procedure done.

Wife just called and said "hey, the fridge in the garage is full, so don't buy anymore beer to put in it."

Fact check: Wrong!

Bourbon?

What I am learning is that a lot of **** in this country runs on some pretty damn thin margins.

Actually even more runs without concern for margins or efficiency but loves to tell others how to operate -> Government industries.

Any private practice, hospital, or clinic that relies on outpatient work is being gutted right now. By order of the government to conserve materials and prepare for the surge, all outpatient procedures, surgery, imaging is suspended until further notice.

The ortho guys are getting nailed. They are shut down to pretty much anything but trauma.

And yes, I got my pay cut last week too.
Sucks.

-What a fall for Old Joey... dude was riding so high too.

If you have a tenant that has paid very little since the 1st of the year, and you haven't evicted yet, you're a terrible landlord.

NY State has very strict tenant laws. Things have greatly changed in the favor of tenants since late year. Even the concept of broker fees for apartment are no longer allowed in NYC, much less requesting First, Last, and Security deposit. Tenants can easily stop the process of eviction but promising a judge to make some payment and then it all leading to start the eviction process once again...takes time. Then the courts closed.

But yeah, you know what you're talking about. GFY

Tried to tell Chad a year ago to get a prop manager. Deals with all that nonsense and you get a check every month. Unless it's your job and you're profiting on it no chance I would deal with that stuff. The guys that have a couple properties they just held onto and the rent basically covers yearly expenses it's the only way to go.

Side note: Bill Withers was a ******** genius.

Wife came home with a HMcK10... ($45). Good gal.

However, I still can’t taste anything.

Christ.:(
Hey man, I’ve been following the IG stories of the dude who‘s Utah case #7 and he is just now getting his sense smell back. He’s been documenting his experience everyday for a few weeks at this point.

I know it’s anecdotal, but I wouldn’t worry about it (if you are). It’s pretty gross, but he said his own bad breath was what made him realize it was back. I’d be chomping that garlic!

Some cases of Anosmia are permanent nerve damage. Without groovy espressos, bourbons and cooking- I may as well take up painting.

If it’s permanent, it should make giving blow jobs less taxing. Zing!!!

- Jesus, Wayne. That is harsh for a Covid-19 survivor. But you’ve always been a classic *******, so way to be consistent.

- In other news (and this is boring so sorry but I’m drunk and bored and there’s no sports to watch) I had the foresight to grab Amazon’s “best seller” or whatever hair clippers two weeks ago on Prime before the inventory ran out.

- I was skeptical, but for $32 I’m now delivering myself a nice, even 1.7MM buzz every third day. Will never go to a barber again. The cost savings extrapolated over a lifetime would surely make Joey proud.

- I’ve always been in the club-SAE shave-every-day -but-Saturday group. But I said the hell with it for the quarantine and grew a beard for the first time since I was in school. 15 years. Was pleased to discover a very nice salt-and-pepper blend with plenty of distinguished silver in the mix. Kind of like it.

- Pretty sure a guy on a zoom meeting I was on this afternoon was jerking off. I think he even grunted. Fairly audacious, even in these times.

- The George Dickel bonded-in-bond is a hell of a value. 14 years old and 100 proof for $41? Yes please. My new house whiskey, even if it is Tennessee.

- I set up my home work space so I can sit in front of and look out of a large bay window (I like sunlight) onto North Fort Thomas Avenue. One thing this has opened my eyes to is how many nefarious housewife bitches let their dogs piss in my front yard. It’s absurd. My lamppost is a Mecca for these c**t dogs apparently.

- Got carryout tonight from a local place (915 Pub). They mixed up my order. Received Rick’s order instead of Nick’s (that’s me). Let’s just say that Rick is a f**king maniac. Three trays of fries, one tray of onion rings, 30 naked/sauceless (!) wings, and two fish sandwiches. WTF, Rick?

- :flush::flush::flush:

Pretty sure the property manager doesn't send you a check every month if he doesn't actually get one.
They run credit checks, advertise correctly, have a client base, take care of all evictions properly. In 10 years I've never had to deal with any of that and it's been rented all but about 6 months. But sure, I'd love to hear your landlord expertise.

Michael Porter (rapist) to John Wall is the single biggest upgrade of any position 1-5 from one year to the next in NCAA history.

Change my mind.

This is a brilliant question and I don't know who else is close. I was going to say Mark Coury to whoever came after him, but I guess I forgot that Coury actually played for and was recruited by Tubby Smith. What the hell is that about?

Random White Guy —> Bill Russell
Random White Guy —> Wilt Chamberlain

Were those random white guys rapists? Maybe. I dunno. But probably not according to a court of law and general statistics.

Got married at 19 to his high school sweetie. Sweet *** offer to start at DB as a white freshman at USC but picked UK for basketball instead behind a PG already better than him in the same class. Then he generally was awful for 3 years at basketball probably because he was busy hustling Lolita *** at church gatherings.

John Wall just tried to screw a girl his own age in an abandoned house. And he was awesome at the basketball.

Lew Johnson averaged 10 and 10 for Kansas in 55-56.

Dick Jensen dropped a smooth 6.9 points for the 52-53 Dons of San Fran.

Michael Porter sucked. And statutoried.

Both were probably indeed honky random whites.
