No problem owning that I thought @bradyjames starting a bball card shop wasn't a great idea and @MattJonesKSR was grifting UK fans.

You know, 10 years ago when I was even dumber than I am today.

If you are ever fortunate enough to work with/for/near someone that is either so stubborn or just gifted that they want to dedicate a significant portion of their life to building something, it can be a thing of beauty. Most of what surrounds us today is centered around destruction. Nothing is easier than tearing it down but it's exceptionally difficult, time-consuming, lost hours with family/friends, miserable, exciting and able to lift up many more around them to be a builder.

So really, who TF is someone like UKO to piss on someone else's creation. You did jack ****, you took the easy way out and all you are capable of is kicking over the ant hill. BFD. ANITFA is also great at this -- saddle up with them, cawksmoker.

If I'm hankering for fish fry, beer batter just won't cut it. Charlie's has that, but lacks seasoning.

How does the 19-20 team do in the tourney assuming it took place? On one hand, that team was really clicking late with Quickley and Maxey and Richards. On the other hand, you had Hagans who quit before the last reg season game and was probably the player I have trusted the least under cal. I say S16 tops.

Probably would have been a 3 or 4 seed if I remember correctly.
They were a 2 seed bordering on a 1, and one of the hottest teams in the country. We were going to make a deep run, so of course that **** got canceled.

*Any of you booked Indy?

*50/50 on the SECT. I may skip and put those funds toward a NCAAT run.

*All this fried fish talk has me thinking I'll tell the kids to get pumped, no pizza tonight. We're eating fish tonight. Just as God intended.

But if you are single and don’t have kids, parents LOVE to respond with “YOU DONT HAVE KIDS SO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!!!” But if a black person, woman, athlete, doctor or anyone else says the same thing, those same folks usually get mad at that as an answer. I just find that humorous
It truly is comical.

Toppin/Brooks aren’t even in the same stratosphere as Jones/Miller

They SEEM close - at least as closely effective?

Full disclosure - basketball analysis isn’t my strong suit

Miller and Brooks have similar output and maybe even shot selection?

Jones was better than Toppin AND intimidating to boo

Wheeler keeps us in attack mode. Generally, I love him but he can get into a funk. Cal needs to have a quick hook. Washington is a helluva alternative and as you mention, that line is tough to guard.

Does he remind you of a quicker version of Anthony Epps?

Kind a like f stocky and ..::wait maybe not

Epps was a better shooter but not as fast or as effective at penetrating

Ok

  • If y’all were regulars at the old Cunninghams, the best waiter ever was this old crusty black dude named Tolley. He would ask what we wanted to drink, bring us two each because, “I aint coming back.” . We loved cutting it up with him. That fried fish was too much food

  • Little kids and masks are one thing… High School with no athletics awards banquets, proms, dances, concerts, shore runs, lockers… pretty much all the things I fondly remember of the HS experience was completely stripped from my kid.

  • My kid is accepting his offer to UK. See ya soon. UK legacy, Bluegrass Spirit … free.

  • We settled on Lugers for wife’s birthday. Steak for Two on Saturday. Cats better take care of business, so I can have an enjoyable dinner.

  • Im pulling for Bengals, but I see no way Burrow survives the pressure he’s going to be under. I also hate Eli Apple. Dude was a straight bum on the Giants.

  • Louisville LOLz

Most human beings believe they are totally confident having opinions on any issue, even if they have no personal experience with it…race, gender, any job no matter the training it takes, sports even if they didn’t play, politics, etc. I don’t dive into all of those topics but I dive into many of them every day

The interesting point about those people that opinining about different race, gender, job, etc. with wild abandon is that some of them are parents. As you said, parents the would agree that the least valid outsider opining possible is parents vs. non-parents. (It’s not like only non-parents are arguing about those other topics and then parents show up to only gripe about non-parents foisting opinions.)

When a person becomes a parent, they immediately understand that having a child will always be the most important facet of their life experience. Every other “tribe” of their life will pale in comparison from that point forward. The stakes of every other argument will be less important until it’s weighed agains the scale of affect on children - by parents.

You’re smart guy, and I like you. So I can see how it would be frustrating to not be able to learn or understand anything about being a parent without actually being a parent.

Getchee some kids, Matt. Then you’ll be able to argue “for keeps.” All else is folly.

Got in a little spat with Terrence Jones at Fontainbleau in Miami on Sunday night. We were people watching in the lobby for the Yo Gotti concert at LIV. That place is the best people watching shitshow scene of all time...

...dude was a complete weirdo. Was there by himself wandering around the Lobby for 2 hours, never saw him talk to a single person...except us when I waved him over.

I was waiting for him to give me the wink and the gun and tell me he'd always be a wildcat forever, but instead told me to Pipe Down, among other inappropriate things :)

Place was unreal. So much charm and character. Growing up the old man and his chronies had his this businessman’s Christmas luncheon the Friday before Christmas every year at the original Cunningham’s. Sons could be included but had to be 18 to attend.

My first year was during Christmas break my freshman year of college. Had a private room upstairs. Place reeked of whiskey and fried food. Black and white photos everywhere. There was no ordering. Everyone received the fried fish sambo and fries. Pitchers of domestos were flowing and men were firing up cigars. Christmas music was playing in the background. Playboys were on laid out on almost every table. Everyone seemed jolly basically writing off the afternoon and embracing the Christmas spirit. Being 18 years young I thought this was the damn pinnacle.

No reason for Terrence Jones not to be able to carve out a decent NBA career unless he was unstable mentally, which from all account he apparently is.

I had read before that he "left" the NBA. Seemed like he was doing pretty well, and then all of a sudden was off to China or some ****. So, I asked him why he did...

He told me "You don't just LEAVE the NBA kid"...ok, fine. Said my bad, and asked him what he was up to...said he'd just finished Puerto Rico season, and thought he had a line on the G League.

Then, just randomly turned into an *******, and told me he was gonna "f my wife" (who was just a friend/date), lmao. Didn't get a chance to tell him that would be kinda dope actually, bc he had already stormed off w/ middle fingers in the air, before turning around and doing an exaggerated double-thrust movement while pointing at her.

One of the more bizarre encounters of my entire life.

Still not over Ramsey's on High Street closing. Talk about a big part of my UK experience.

-Parent visits
-Happy hours
-Hangover mornings

Loved that damn place. Great catfish sandwich, too.

Completely underrated happy hour. Back when just being out somewhere catching a buzz with your buddies was the best thing in the world. Brings back some memories. Thank you.

I booked tickets for myself and my sons for the Saturday session.

Lowers were not cheap and I was thinking to myself that not only are UK fans 2 yrs removed from attending the NCAA tournament, but essentially the entire college basketball fandom is 2 yrs removed as well since they really didn't have much last year in Indy.

I have to imagine the demand for tickets will be through the roof once they actually announce the bracket.

^^Jordan Peterson went on a rant on that speech on Rogan that was pretty hilarious. His wife was in this debate/forum. It's almost performance art/satire.

I'm pretty liberal, but how do people get this wacky?

-some people were born to hate themselves.

^hating yourself is not humility...it's pathos and oddly enough it's a sign of narcissism.

I hope you all think about this when you are enjoying your Super Bowl Sunday meat snacks.

If someone decided to go tit for tat in the extreme absurdities of modern Conservatism" in GYERO, it no doubt wouldn't be difficult to achieve.

However, it would become as ponderous of a waste of time as it is to cherry pick one side of the idiocy.
