^this dude talks about other dudes manliness *a lot*...telling.
If 4 or 5 times in 25 years is a lot, guilty as charged. I’m sure as hell not apologizing for being a man. Especially not when referencing someone who talks down to other men on a daily basis, as if they’re beneath him. He’s a *****. Period.

Shorts:

- I don’t like Harden at all but compared to Irving and Simmons he Marcus Welby Jesus Christ.

- Not that I could afford such lunacy but I have zero desire to attend the Super Bowl.

- I’ll never understand how people can drink rose’.

- Oh Andrew Whitworth my old friend from Tropicana Ladies 80s night. How are you?

- PJ Washington’s new girl is 🔥.

- Rewatching “Warrior” which is a classic. Tom Hardy’s easily the best actor of his generation. Where’s he been?

- Will you Millennial/Gen Z softs stop using the term “toxic” for everything? Life’s not fair. They used to tell us that in the ‘80s. Was a nice slice of humble pie.

- Dinner with the wife at Baker’s Table which is a dope spot a couple blocks away. As Nikki Sixx said in the Motley Crue doc, “you have to date your wife.”

- Cats BIG over Florida- 25 or more led by a monster TyTy effort.

- My dad was such a great dad. He’d load up half a dozen 8-10 year olds in the dead of August and take us up to Wilmington College every year to watch the Bengals training camp, highlighted by grabbing autographs from all the players on their way to lunch. I have programs covered with autographs from all those late ‘80s teams.

- Bengals 27-24 on a late field goal. I’m opening a Weller 12 or finishing up an Old Rip 10. LFG who dey

Of course I want Matt to post here, but he hit a really sensitive topic, and hard to blame him since he's a big dumb bachelor so his real life experiences are limited. I mean he's not even a dog dad.
Half-serious, half-joke comment here from me

I talked about this on the radio, but it is true. Most human beings believe they are totally confident having opinions on any issue, even if they have no personal experience with it…race, gender, any job no matter the training it takes, sports even if they didn’t play, politics, etc. I don’t dive into all of those topics but I dive into many of them every day

But if you are single and don’t have kids, parents LOVE to respond with “YOU DONT HAVE KIDS SO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!!!” But if a black person, woman, athlete, doctor or anyone else says the same thing, those same folks usually get mad at that as an answer. I just find that humorous

With that said, I don’t care if any kid wears a mask or not. I don’t think wearing them is protecting the planet and I don’t think it is traumatizing them for life. So I genuinely have no opinion. But if I did, it wouldn’t matter bc I am single and apparently being a parent is the only thing in America now where experience is required to have a valid opinion

Per my River City fried fish eater sources:
  1. Mask optional is on the very near horizon for the AoL.
  2. When this happens, contact tracing, quarantining and test to stay will return.
Love #1. Good luck with #2.

We are supposed to get new designs from Nike this Spring

Only football thing I am worried about is DB. They had two dudes both penciled in at started that fell through at last minute

Not American, like fried chicken, but I worship fried fish.

Is the new Cunningham's as good as the old location?

Haven't enjoyed yet but haven't heard otherwise. I'm almost exclusively a Fishery and Fish House guy at this point. Don't sleep on FABD's, though. Somehow it's much better than the sister restaurant Hooked on Frankfort, which is very average.

Nah. Service has been fair last few times I've been there.

Been hearing a bunch about Passtime Fish House in J-Town tbh. They're out here saying it's the best in the city. I need to check that out, but that means I have to drive to J-Town, so we'll see.

*Hard to beat a good fried fish sandwich and a cold Miller Lite, which is why I hit Cunningham's at least once a month.

*I believe it does matter if you have kids or not to fully understand the school mask issue. It's not that people without kids cannot understand the science or the politics of it, because they can. What they cannot understand, and do not see, is the personal toll it takes on the kids. We, as parents, see their frustration every day. We see how much they hate them. We see how uncomfortable they are wearing them and how happy they are when they can rip them off.

*Finally getting a haircut after work. It's as long as it's been since I was in my 20's. When you combine this with me not shaving for 3 weeks, I'm looking like an extra from Deadwood. Cnuts.

*Taking kiddos to Impellizzeri's tonight for dinner.

*Speaking of the kids, booked our summer vacation for June. I let them choose and they wanted to go back to San Diego. Now, it's up to them to pick the activities.

Fun fact, San Diego has the largest "Little Italy" in the country. Love that area.

-if everyone was required to have direct experience/extensive knowledge of a subject to speak/have an opinion on something...wtf would that look like?

^only people who pay federal income tax should have a say in how it's spent.

I believe that. Experience matters. I also believe that’s true about many other topics that you (not you specifically but people in general) are perfectly confident having opinions about. I see a lot of people telling black people should feel about racism (or how much they experience), or women how they should feel about various issues or a host of other issues. And they feel confident doing it. I am just noting the discrepancy

I think everyone can and should have opinions but we are all much more protective when people wade in on the turf we know without experience but could care less if we do the same.

And now this has gotten much more serious than I meant to and my car trip to Owensboro is over so I will leave you guys to your own accords. Have a good weekend

We've moved on to fried fish. Another topic I'm truly passionate about. Thankfully you can't get a decent sandwich in Fayette County so my improvements to diet will continue.

I am gonna try that sous vide chuck roast that all the SV needs are freaking over. Drop it in tonight to be ready for SB.

Best 35% three-point shooter in school history. Really turned it up in the tournament too. 👀

When you don’t put an emphasis on three point shooting is it any wonder your shooters go cold in March? It’s happened too many times to think it’s an outlier.

If Tyler doesn’t ignore Cal screaming “DRIVE!” at him we lose in the Sweet Sixteen to Houston.

Food for thought.

Look I know Gonzaga is good- arguably the favorite- but I don’t want to hear all the oooohing and awwwwing from sportswriters about them dominating the WCC.

Big Blue smacked KenPom’s #11 Tennessee by 28 and at Kansas, KenPom’s #6, by 18.

So I don’t give a flying F how Chet looked against the Dons or the Pilots.

This coming up every time Herro is mentioned has become a personal hatboggan. It makes me laugh every time.

(And it’s also, well.. fact, so it kind of hurts to laugh)

It’s just Geese and me trolling each other at this point. I know deep down though that Herro’s Miami antics have knocked the shine off for Feeder, though.

Never been a fish sandwich guy but there was nothing better in my youth than the Fish Fry Fundraiser at the local fire station or out at the lake.

Piles of fresh, fried catfish. Hush puppies. Crockpots full of white beans on the table. Sweet old grandmothers bringing in their coconut pies. Summer memories up there with Suicides at the Concession Stand and roaming around on bikes or four wheelers with friends until well after dark.

Of all things to have a opinion on, I have no idea why in gods name you would want to have an opinion about regulations on someone’s kids. Have you seen how insane parents get about their kids with silly things like 1st grade t-ball? So now you want to throw in your two cents about their education and health? You nuts?

I have to admit I have an irrational dislike of Willis and Herro. Maybe I hate whitey? They just both absolutely stunk it up and played like **** when it mattered most and I just don’t remember them fondly for it. Sue me.

I thought college basketball was so bad that I lost interest in the whole sport. Turns out Kentucky was just so unwatchable that it ruined the whole thing for me because I’m sure as hell into it this year. Style of play MATTERS. Not just wins. I just can’t see Cal not sticking with this model. CJ Frederick being our Grady next year has me as excited as anything else tbh

Yep, fish fry at St Paul's. Adults working. Kids balling in the gym. Running over to the card shop or music store in Dixie Manor. MCF eating cheese pizza because he hates fish. 🙄

After college I had a fraternity brother from Henderson that lived with me for a bit. He went home and caught a bunch of catfish one week. Brought it all back along with a vat of lard and deep fryer. An early spring Saturday, we sat outside and ate fried catfish, hush puppies, etc., listened to tunes, smoked grass and drank ice cold beer for what must have been 16 hours. Possibly the best fried fish I've ever had, and just a real pleasant day.

Simpler times.
