Im going to laugh so hard if Brown chooses the G League! They will have kept Shaka for nothing.Covid 19, saved his job, Texas can't justify buying Smart out during these financially trying times.

What is so funny is there are like 50 different posters on RR who this exact thing applies to. It's like they are posting from an alternate reality where UK still has BGG coaching and recruiting . You would never know we win more games since Cal has come here of any major conference program and recruit at a higher level then any program in cbb history sans UCLA in the 60's and early 70's .
You are so blind to what’s happening to this program it’s pathetic.Yet yr in and yr out Cal has the Cats in EEs, FFs, Title games and has won a title.
Minimum of EE 7 of 10 yrs and Covid 19 hit or it would have been min of 8 of 11 yrs.
What do you people expect?
I’m not sick of #1 recruiting classes! I love #1 recruiting classes! I’m sick of people like you that think that’s all we need. #1 classes full of future NBA all stars, sure that would probably work. But these classes we’ve been getting are not full of those. We have to have returning players to complement what we have coming in. You’re comprehension is embarrassingly bad.You seem Stupid for being sick of hearing about #1 recruiting classes bucko.

Just the facts bud.You are so blind to what’s happening to this program it’s pathetic.
I bet you look later though....Brown is not going to play center in collage. He is not a big so he is not coming to UK. It will be either Texas or G' League. I am going to mow my yard as soon as it is dry and not waste my time see where he is picking.
What in the hell are you talking about? When did I say anything about recruiting 2 stars? I specifically said in the post YOU REPLIED TO that I love #1 classes. But that’s not enough. How about recruiting a few 4 stars role players without the premise of NBA ASAP? And then DONT recruit over them!So if we recruited 2 stars with zero professional hopes, that would make you happy? Somehow I suspect you would cry even louder if Cal started doing that.
Lol, that was a good one! I’m sure Texas would pay more. From the G-League or Texas?

In a debate, you always can identify the one who is losing by how loud and rude he shouts his position. What in the hell are you talking about?!

Okay great - here is the problem laid out explicitly. Glad you said it.How about recruiting a few 4 stars role players without the premise of NBA ASAP? And then DONT recruit over them!

I learned that phrase when OTHERS said it to ME!!May I quote you in other threads? That was perfectly said!
Lol the one that is losing is the person that puts words in people’s mouths, says irrelevant crap that doesn’t make sense, and brings nothing to the discussion. In a debate, you always can identify the one who is losing by how loud and rude he shouts his position.
Cal gets paid MILLIONS to figure that out.Okay great - here is the problem laid out explicitly. Glad you said it.
How?
There are tons of four stars that aren't even major conference D1 contributors until their junior or senior year. This is true under every coach at every program.
So what do you do when you inevitably recruit that kid to fill the newly opened spot? Say you reserve the one spot for him and give him a year to himself (which is risky enough already and would piss lots of fans off). If he's not showing any signs of improvement by the Spring, you still leave that spot wide open for him next year?
I'm not saying Cal's system is perfect - every system has flaws. I just don't see how what you propose is realistic.
Not really. If you’re loud and rude but RIGHT that’s all that matters.May I quote you in other threads? That was perfectly said!

(Deservedly, I must confess)

This response doesn't make any sense.Cal gets paid MILLIONS to figure that out.
I'm curious how you recruit a few 4 stars and then not recruit over them? Also..Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was a 4 star and left for the NBA. That's what good players do here. What in the hell are you talking about? When did I say anything about recruiting 2 stars? I specifically said in the post YOU REPLIED TO that I love #1 classes. But that’s not enough. How about recruiting a few 4 stars role players without the premise of NBA ASAP? And then DONT recruit over them!
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. Don’t recruit them with the promise that they’ll be in the nba after one year. I’m convinced that’s what Cal does. This response doesn't make any sense.
How many millions would you have to pay him to reverse gravity?
You either overrecruit a spot or you will have gaps in the roster some years. It's completely unavoidable.
The actual solution to the problem is recruiting guys ranked 40-60 who understand that if Cal doesn't get them drafted in 1 year, it's perfectly normal - that they have a reasonable chance to beat out a 5 star freshman as a junior. The question is how do you know who those guys are? Many kids ranked around there think that they're just being underrated.
Don’t recruit over them. Develop them. I’m not sure where the confusion is.I'm curious how you recruit a few 4 stars and then not recruit over them? Also..Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was a 4 star and left for the NBA. That's what good players do here.
Should we have turned down Boston or Clarke to keep Johnny Juzang?Don’t recruit over them. Develop them. I’m not sure where the confusion is.
But yet in his press conferences he always says every players journey is different. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. Don’t recruit them with the promise that they’ll be in the nba after one year. I’m convinced that’s what Cal does.
I agree he's probably not coming here, but what if Jackson starts at the 5 and Brown plays the stretch 4 role. That's what he will play in the NBA.Brown is not going to play center in collage. He is not a big so he is not coming to UK. It will be either Texas or G' League. I am going to mow my yard as soon as it is dry and not waste my time see where he is picking.
I don't think anyone will be upset over this.Supposed insiders haven't given people false hope over him at all. It's well known he isn't coming here.Im here before the freakout if we don't get him. "Oh but he had the signed folder!" The reason these guys do this is to get the massive social media BBN army to follow them. Its the worst part of our fanbase and they keep falling for the same stuff.
He promises the 45th ranked kid that he'll be in the league one year? Is that really what you believe in your heart of hearts? That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. Don’t recruit them with the promise that they’ll be in the nba after one year. I’m convinced that’s what Cal does.
Most reasonable people will not be upset. Its the minority that will be shocked when he was stringing them along for social media followers. Some of those same people then wish bad things on a player. This is definitely not unique to our fan base by any means. We saw this when Knox committed to UK.I don't think anyone will be upset over this.Supposed insiders haven't given people false hope over him at all. It's well known he isn't coming here.

It would be best to get a player that understands he’s not going to the nba after one year and won’t transfer. Develop him for 2-3 years and THEN dont recruit over him. By that time a seasoned player developed by the coach to do exactly what he wants would be more valuableShould we have turned down Boston or Clarke to keep Johnny Juzang?
