😆 at the announcers trying to act horrified. "This is an ugly scene! This its ugly scene! Omg!". But yeah, I don't see how you don't fire Howard immediately.
I hope they shut down both teams for the season. That's how stupid and ugly that was. Forfeits and go home.

Howard should be fired. Pretty cut and dry if you ask me. Total embarrassment. Just not an example you set. IMO coaches have to live by different standards.

Okay, but if a punch isn’t thrown, this is a non story. You can't throw punches.
But the fact a punch was thrown makes everything matter. It’s nothing if a punch is t thrown but it was so the context matters.

Michigan kept pressing even when the scrubs were in the game under 30 seconds down by a big amount. They stole the ball several times and scored and gard called a time out to coach them. That was with 15 seconds or so. Howard took exception to that. I understand howard but I also understand that they were pressing. Don't press when the game's over.
Thanks... that's what I gathered, which is why I don't understand Howard's anger w/ the TO. You coach your team in all situations. I don't have a problem w/ second string pressing second string b/c they need reps, too. However, if a coach leaves his first group in the game to press my second group in an effort to make the scoreboard look better, then I take umbrage to that. I coached for many years and have been on both sides of a lopsided score. If I was up big and the opposing coach decided to start pressing my second or third stringers with his first string when the outcome was not in doubt, I would call a timeout, put the starters back in, and keep pouring it on until the opponent got the message and waved the white flag. The game is over.....take your medicine and live to fight another day.

Right, you're reinforcing my point.

Yeah, Gard shouldn't have put his hands on Juwan, but if punches weren't thrown, it would have been a non issue.

Lost in all of this is the fact that several Michigan players threw punches later on.

Michigan is about to be without a coach and some players.

Gard was excessively aggressive. He is not innocent in this either.

This^^^^ , Gard seams to be getting a pass for the most part. He is was the instigator

Funny thing is, some of Cal’s cool-aid drinkers here would defend him if say, he did the same thing at Arkansas, with their assistant! And you jokers better not even say you wouldn’t! 😂🤣

Howard is a hot head. Hate it. Think he has the potential to be good for college basketball. But not with this kind of garbage

He needs to be fired. No excuse for a grown man who is supposed to be a leader acting like this.Imagine the reaction if Cal did this.
You damn well know the usual suspects would be spinning it like they do for anything controversial with Cal!😭

Harbaugh and Howard are the most prominent coaches at Michigan? The Michigan AD had a Hex put on him. So much for staying in the family for the big positions.

If I were Michigan I wouldn't try this with Purdue. That Edney dude could crack all their heads together like moe.

Goodman would be the one to think that’s a punch. I honestly think Howard will be asked to resign for this. Michigan isn’t the University of Louisville, there will be a lot of pressure on the Athletic director and school President for these actions.

If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Howard, embarrassing quit being a clown. What kind of example you set for your players? He’s Penny with better talent, yet can’t control his emotions. At some point, you grow up or you get out.

After watching a few times it’s pretty clear that Howard was aggressively trying to grab the coach by his collar. Not defending him, it’s just what happened, the worst part is that his players then felt justified to start fighting.
