He was probably explaining the time out and the fact that Michigan was pressing.
The Wisconsin’s coach’s actions directly led to an escalation of the situation. He did something that everyone knows pisses off other coaches and then while the other coach is still angry about it he physically stops him. Just let Howard calm down and approach him in the locker room later or call him. I’m not defending Howard he deserves whatever he gets.
Howard acted like a piece of s*** by the way he coached at the end of that game. And then he decided he didn't have to talk about it. He makes it worse by throwing a sucker punch. Howards punch ignited that entire melee. He's having a bad season and he's a poor loser.
He needs to be fired.No excuse for a grown man who is supposed to be a leader acting like this.Imagine the reaction if Cal did this.
This may not come down to just what UM does. The Big10 will have a say in this one before it's over.
I don't know if it matters but he did smack him and then go to the fist. A lot of Michigan players threw punches though.

Did you hear anything that was being said? Seemed to me he was just trying to talk to Howard, maybe to clear up some confusion, or apologize.

I've never seen a guy get in trouble for putting his hand on someone's chest. I can't imagine he would think things would have escslated like that.
Defintely. It also shouldn't matter if it's a punch or a slap. Neither of those is acceptable. Just like it wasn't acceptable for their coach to put hands on Howard.

wasnt a punch, just a face grab if that matters. They showed it in slow motion started as a pitch but needed with a scalp grab

I wonder if the loudmouths in Ann Arbor are still pushing the bogus theory that Kentucky and Calipari ducked them because they are such a fearsome team, instead of the truth, which is if the series is going to be played it needs to be played as originally envisioned with the first game in London as a mega-event.

I agree. He can't coach anyway so Michigan would be much better off without him.
He needed Chris Webber to call a T.O. before it escalated.
He grabbed Howard as he walked by . Who knows what was said but Howard is pissed off he probably should have just let Howard walk by.
I think this is the second incident between Howard and a coach though . He is going to have to learn to control himself

I’m sure he was just trying to clear it up. If someone is pissed at me I usually don’t go and physically put my hands on them to explain my side of the story. Let him blow by and work it out later. Look I’m not saying he should be fired but the Wisconsin coach had a role in the escalation and should be held accountable to that.

Dang, guess I'd get suspended too. I probably would have tried to hold him there so I could talk to him too if I wanted to explain myself. I never looked at that as a bad thing.

Gard was excessively aggressive. He is not innocent in this either.
And that sucks, I think Howard has coaching potential. I like the guy, but this is bad.
