Let’s get ready to rumble!!!

Idiot. Howard got his *** handed to him and probably lost his job because a weak mind led him to think his only recourse was to fight. He got beat so bad. Coward Howard.

So Howard claims "self defense"?

Laughable.

If he had initially struck back after Gard first grabbed him, then I would buy it.

Waiting as long as he did to throw a punch / slap? No way that was self defense.

I was thinking suspension for Howard, but after that weak, totally disingenuous response, I think he deserves to be fired. He should have owned it and begged forgiveness.

Idiot.
After watching the initial video, it looks like Howard reached for the assistant after some sort of altercation between the assistant and the UM player on the headband.

Here is the “punch”

Raise your hands if you think he will be fired ?? I bet nothing will be done.
Why? Because he's blek?

Won’t be a popular opinion but Wisconsin’s coach deserves a suspension too. Howard was just going to blow by and nothing would have happened. Instead Wisconsin’s coach puts his hands on Howard and stops him. Obviously Howard’s should be longer for throwing a punch.
Howard was pressing the Wisconsin backups while down big right up until the end. Then he gets mad at a coach for calling a timeout. Whisky’s coach rightfully stopped to tell him that wasn’t cool. That’s not instigating anything.

I think he will be suspended for the remainder of the year. I do not think he will be fired.
I bet he will be fined by the school :) (which will be a joke ) and made to apologize. He most likely will be coaching the next game.

"Gard should be suspended"....by some here.

How many times have coaches exchanged "pleasantries" at the end of the game and NO ONE GETS suspended? Like every time. You know why? Because it was a disagreement.

This time one of the head coaches decides to assault another coach after the pleasantries.

Only one coach needs to be suspended. And it's not Gard....

And I truly dislike Wisconsin because I was on a cruise when we lost to WISCY 2015....and their few fans on the boat were unbearable afterward (JJ Watt was on this cruise as well).

There's this strange disconnect you see playing out over and over where certain people think that if they're "dissed" then that means the rules are off and they can have their actions excused no matter how wildly inappropriate. Call it the Antonio Brown Syndrome.

Undoubtedly there will be that kind of defense emerge. Juwan will somehow be taking it upon himself to draw attention to some slight that is supposed to excuse it all. Simultaneously it will be claimed other white coaches were not scrutinized for similar actions even if there aren't any. This is such a tiring act. I'll be glad when we get back to individual personal responsibility instead of guilt by demographics.

John Chaney threatened to KILL Cal. Was he fired?????

Same will happen here with Howard. He is BELOVED by the Michigan fans and their alumni. He will have to apologize. ANY OTHER coach without his ties to the school would be FIRED today.

saying it was self defense is double the insult. obviously he should have apologized. now michigan will probably have a decade long losing streak to wisconsin.

Definitely without question he should get fired. Absolutely cannot lose control like that and strike another coach. Question is will the Michigan AD have the testicular fortitude to do it.

How many names are in the following statement from the Big X?

"The Big Ten Conference is aware of a physical altercation involving Michigan Head Coach Juwan Howard at the conclusion of the Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball game. The conference is in contact with both member institutions and is currently assessing the incident. The conference will provide more information and will take swift and appropriate disciplinary action when it completes its review," the conference said in a statement.

It will be interesting how this plays out. I'm going to bet on UM giving Howard a limp talking to and the NCAA doing nothing.

Gard should be suspended also. Both coaches are trash.
