Mo Salah has announced he is leaving at the end of the season. He deserves to leave on his own terms for sure. He has dropped off tremendously this year, but if you look at his stats he is still among the best in the EPL. Last year was just phenomenal, especially at his age. He will leave as a forever icon at Liverpool.
All good things must come to an end. It's time. Hope he'll have a few good years left in him.

Any chance there was a Slot-Salah feud?
I don't think they get along well but Salah has dropped off. He was probably going to lose his stating spot next season had he stayed. He is 33. That is on up there for an attacker, especially one that plays the way he does. He just doesn't have the legs he did have.

Unfortunately Saka is there already and he’s 10 years younger

Seeing rumors that Xabi Alonso will be named coach this summer. Probably should have happened in January.

Got the win in the first derby at Everton's new ground, that was a big win. The injury bug struck again though...Mamardashvili this time. We finished the game with the third keeper.

It looks like Arsenal is going to bottle it again.

Huge 3 points today. Everton scared me more than Chelsea or any of the other clubs chasing us. Still got some tough games but have a 7-points lead with 5 games left to play in champions league next year. It’s in Liverpool's hands.

It’s 50/50 from here on out at the top. Unfortunately we blew it drawing against Wolves and last Saturdays disgraceful performance against Bournemouth

Mamardashvili is out two to four weeks, serious gash on his leg. That means the third choice keeper will have to play against Crystal Palace Saturday. They HOPE Allison will be back for Man U. Woodborn didn’t have much to do after he came in against the Toffies but when he did he looked pretty shaky. That’s understandable, they picked him up on a free from Preston North End last summer as an emergency keeper. The emergency is here. This has been some season for injuries, and a death. It’s amazing we are still as high up the table as we are.

106 days into a 6-1/2 year contract. It’s almost criminal how poorly clubs like Chelsea & Tottenham are run.
I am almost at a place where I hope Tottenham get relegated just to force someone to do something about the idiots in charge. Maybe force a sell and get the Joe Lewis kids out of owners box, then just burn it all down to the ground.

Nah you don’t want that. No EPL money to offset the stadium debt might mean 10+ years in the wilderness

You may get your wish. I think West Ham has 4 losses and Tottenham has 3 losses & 1 win left. Then both have games vs Leeds. Going to come down to how each does there. If West Ham wins and Tottenham loses, they'll go down. Otherwise West Ham goes down.

If they still have huge debt on that stadium, and I'm sure they do, being relegated would be worse than a disaster. It could be enough to eventually put them into administration. I could see them turning out like Coventry City even if they did stay afloat. Coventry didn't build nearly that kind of stadium, but they took on a lot of debt for a club their size to build what they did. It resulted in no money for players and they went down almost immediately. They stayed afloat but it's taken them decades to get back.....this year in fact. They won the Championship this week.

Massive stadium projects like that are always a risk. Spurs built best stadium in the world but if they can’t pay for it and continue to keep a prem ready team than their 2010s renaissance is all for nothing. Arsenal had the stadium debt post 06 and somehow someway Wenger ensured champions league football was played despite the financial limitations. Everton better take notice of spurs

It would be a disaster for Tottenham. Their only hope would be to incur even more debt to pay players to try to get back up. But not sure how much leeway they’d have with the financial rules. They would take huge revenue losses not just from premier league vs championship distributions but also from sponsorship revenues.

Tied at the top. Each team with 5 games left. Arsenal doesn’t leave London again except for UCL. Rodri is banged up. We’ll see who blinks first
Arsenal has been blinking for a month now. City has a long history of making late charges like this to win the league. I’ll be shocked if City doesn’t win it.

You want to talk about a club headed for admission, look at Leicester. In the Premier League just last year. Relegated twice. Will be in League One next year. Decent chance they’ll get relegated again to League Two.

Yes Everton better. They don’t have nearly as far to fall as Spurs did. FSG takes a lot of flak from certain corners of the Liverpool fanbase, but they have handled the stadium stuff the right way.

Same here. City almost always win these kind of run ins, and Arsenal under current management have a history of bottling the run in.

Nope, you are in second. There are no ties in the EPL table ever.
Theoretically there could be a 1-game playoff. But not this year. As of now:
Tied on goal difference.
City has a 3-goal advantage in goals scored
City has 4 points to Arsenal 1 head to head.
4th tiebreaker which won’t come into play is away goals head to head.
if still tied, 1-game neutral site playoff.

Portsmouth never won anything but they had a dramatic fall a few years back, they still aren’t back up. They nearly went under.

The Bournemouth game was bad but we actually gave a solid performance at the etihad which is encouraging. We’ve only played 2 PL games since the international break and of course got 0 points out of them but anyone who thinks this race won’t go down to the last day is foolish

Also this bottling argument is silly to me. 2023 sure we “bottled” but everyone knew City were the strongest side and they gained incredible form and won the treble. 2024 Liverpool had most days atop the table and Arsenal lost just one PL game after the new year. 2025 I believe we never were at the top of the table. 2026 there’s really no excuse, the Wolves, Bournemouth and United games are going to be what we look back on

Maybe this is where the bottling reputation comes from.

Well, that's kind of the definition of bottling.
