This process clearly helped PJ last year and it will help EJ this year. Good decision.

It may be a lot of pressure on him as he see other guys doing the same and in his mind he is as good as they are. JMO

I'm not sure it is really about getting feedback. I think it is really about connections with people, and getting your name in front of scouts and GMs. I believe this is best for the players from a recognition standpoint.
IF and it’s a big if that EJ actually stays in the draft then I will never expect a freshman to return again. I understand checking it’s out but these guys are wording it like if I hear anything good I’m out.

I don't think he think he'll get drafted. I think he thinks it's a good opportunity to see where he stands. He can figure out what he needs to do in the eyes of the NBA to improve his draft stock. It's a no lose scenario for him to go there.
I don't think he has to be a guaranteed first round to stay in draft , look at Diallo and Vanderbilt last year. Wouldn't surprise me if he keeps his name in draft.

I played golf in college. Was at a D2 school so I wasn't going to be a pro, but if the PGA tour had some sort of combine set up where they evaluated your skills and told you specifically what you need to work on I would've done it in a heart beat. Why wouldn't you?

That is a bit concerning if the case. I like personal confidence but damn! He needs to have a little more self awareness and honesty if that's the case.
I think every player SHOULD at some point, but the real question is WHEN.
Players can only do it once without remaining in the draft. So, the only players who should are the ones who think they are almost guaranteed to be a first rounder after next season. If not, why not save it until the following season? If he blows up big-time during the 2019-2020 season, he won't have to get the evaluation anyway.
That is my only concern with EJ. He does have a lot of potential, but I wonder if he will really improve enough to be a 1st rounder in the 2020 draft. So, again, why not save it until next year?

But he went through the process and came back. Using him as an example of "It doesn't matter what the feedback is, he gone." is wrong.

Yup, and I think PJ was closer to being a 1st rounder than EJ is now.

This is why it's difficult to win in March. Guys playing with one foot out the door.

Look, I have no issues at all with the one and done. When a guy like Wall, Cousins, AD, and Towns come along, they have to go. Those guys are game changers who will make immediate impacts. But when we keep losing guys to the draft who average 4 points per game with glaring weaknesses in their games, that’s when I have an issue with it.
I know it’s highly likely that EJ isn’t getting first round feedback and he’ll likely be back next year, which is great, but the constant uncertainty with the roster year after year is just getting old.
Definitely was....PJ was just lacking the 3pt shot his freshman year. Outside of that he was a beast towards the end of his freshman season...
I remember when Antoine Walker seen the life style Nazy was living and he said that's when he made up his mind he should go. He was a can't miss pro but I wish he had of came back for another year, only problem with him is that he blew his millions like most players do.

I don't have a problem with what EJ's doing, but what I don't like is that he's gonna have some scumbag agents telling him anything and everything they can to get him to stay in the draft in the hopes that they get paid. I trust Cal has told him this though. Just hope he keeps a straight head.
Devon Dotson was the starting point guard for Kansas and averaged 12 points, almost 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Hit double figures 22 times this season.
Quentin Grimes averaged 8 points and was thought to be a top 10 draft pick coming out of high school. Hit double digits 13 times this year.
EJ doesn't compare to either with the season that he had in a limited role. Had 0 points four times as many times as he had double figures.....8vs2.
Kansas' two absolutely have reason to get feedback because more than likely they are gone next year. EJ did nothing to prove that leaving next year is even a remote possibility. He wasted his one feedback chance this year in my opinion.
I mean if EJ does leave I'd assume this would improve our chances with Blackshear...right?

Wow, are people really this naive ? He is just getting feedback to see what the scouts tell him. It is free and does no harm at all to the player. They actually get feedback directly from NBA guys. There will be a ton of players do this. VJ Touching King from Louisville entered his name, lol. Relax, EJ is not going to the NBA this year. Goodness, i would love to have a few of you as a sales customer. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel easy you are so gullable.
